14 Day Cooling Off Period - They Would Not Refund the Outbound Postage
I ordered a chainsaw that was too heavy for me to use, (I am in my mid seventies), and decided to return it the next day.
I completed all the paperwork, and complied with all their requirements, paid for the return postage, and sent it off.
No acknowledgement from Tooled-Up re receipt of goods, so I phoned them, and asked when I would receive my *FULL* refund.
I was told that the full refund would be in my account in a few days.
I received a partial refund, and they retained £7.95, which they said was the cost of the original *Outbound* postage, which was not refundable.
I pointed out that under the 14 day "Cooling Off Period", they are obliged to return the FULL amount paid, including outbound postage, after which I was told there was nothing more they could.
So I wrote to Jason Chance, Director, asking him to put this right.
No reply, so I sent a prompt, and still no reply.
In my final email to him, I sent 2 links re the Outbound Postage - one was a Government Guidelines For Traders, the other was a Citizens Advice link - both links clearly stating that the Outbound Postage has to be refunded under the 14 day Cooling Off Period
I also stated that I needed a "Letter Of Deadlock" from him, to escalate the matter to my Bank (a claim under "Section 75, Consumer Credit Act").
All I received was a polite, to the point, reply, essentially saying "tough"
So, I submitted a claim to my bank, (a very simple process), and within 24 hrs, my bank account was credited with the money I was owed.
Credit to my bank, but as for Tooled-up & Mr Chance, what a shambles company - I wonder just how large their revenue is from the monies they withhold from customers who are not savvy about Consumer Rights, but are entitled to be refunded.
What a way to run a business!!

Misleading advertising regarding a free battery for products and not a good delivery company( UPS) the cheap prices may not be worth the effort over time, i think its doubtful i will order from tooled-up again because of the incorrect advertising and poor delivery. It is just not work the risk or effort to deal with companies that operate like this. To be fair customer service replied fast and was professional and the product works.

Fabulous Mower - recommend!
I purchased this Bosch mower as for various reasons our back garden had become really overgrown and resembled more of a meadow!, so I needed a mower that could cope with very long grass. Have to say I am seriously impressed with this mower and it coped with the long grass brilliantly. If I had to nit-pick, had a few issues starting the mower - have to ensure the battery is properly clicked in and the battery didn't last very long but to be fair it had to do a lot of work!

Needing a new charger for my Black and Decker 36v battery it was easy to find on the Tooled-Up website. Ordering was simple and it was delivered promptly.

Do not use this company
Do not use this company, their customer service is useless. Trying to return a faulty item within their return window and they’re making it difficult. Trying to get me to go direct to manufacturer which is warranty not returns, and makes threats that if the outcome of some vague testing is that it’s fine then I’ll have to pay to have it returned to me (presumably still broken).
No stock despite website appearing to say in stock
Placed the order mid April based on website appearing to show the item as in stock with despatch within 5 working days. Got an email on the 5th day to say out of stock, now expected end of May! I cancelled the order, needless to say, and got it elsewhere for less.
Delayed Three Weeks and Cancelled After Two Weeks
Ordered two items together. One item shipped and three days after ordering advised that the second item would be delayed for three weeks. A week before delivery is due received an email to advise that the item has been cancelled. Emailed the supplier to request refund of item and delivery charge - email deleted without being read. Ordered from Cromwell and delivered next day!
