I wanted my new roof on our Conservatory before my Wife’s Birthday and before I went in Hospital.
Tyneside Home Improvements promised me they would fit me in, despite the recent weather we’ve had they bust a gut to achieve it in the 3 day installation period that they programmed for.
The Fitting team of David and Scot on the first day and David on his own the second day were absolutely amazing, they were friendly, informative, answered my numerous questions ( in construction all working life )
Courteous, very tidy, safety conscious, quality tradesmen. The final day was inside insulation, boarding and Plastering. Peter again was very good at his job and again followed the same pattern and procedures as the fitters.
The Office Staff, Surveyors, Management and Anthony were easy to talk to and made dealing with their company easy and straight forward.
I would definitely recommend them to friends and family, massive well done to you all and thanks from me and my wife.

Absolutely excellent. Had kitchen door fitted and it was installed to the very highest standard. Cannot praise enough and would recommend without hesitation.

Have to say these guys have been amazing. Everything from dan giving me the initial quote and working with me to get what I wanted. And everything happening when they said it would. No nasty surprises. I had the pleasure with dealing with a few members of staff there from owner Kevin and Damon all very helpful,
The workman worked solid and professional. End result a great new room which we use more than any other room .

These guys were that good I recommended my parents who will be getting a great new space as well.

From the start, Michael coming out and planning and showing us what it would look like, Kevin organising everything, the lads who put the roof on and the plasterer, brilliant from start to finish, the lady from the office kept us up to date with what was happening, the roof inside and out is amazing, we would most certainly recommend that you use this company!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

Tyneside Home Improvements have been excellent throughout this project from the first discussions to the finish, with excellent communications at all times. The building team, Joe, Scott and Andy, were friendly, professional and brilliant workers and Peter the plasterer was superb and a really nice guy. Just had my super lite roof installed today. Only took 2 days to complete and the guys never stopped. Ritchie and David were absolute stars and went above and beyond expectations installing the roof and even doing a few other additions. Steven the plasterer done a fantastic job. The finished effect is beautiful 👌 Here’s to another 30 years use 😉 You can all come back anytime 😊

We are over the moon with our SupaLite tiled roof which has transformed our conservatory into a stunning and comfortable dining room for us to enjoy all year round.

After shopping around, we eventually decided to go with Tyneside Home Improvements, not because of the salesman but because they were recommended to us by friends.
We definitely made the right decision as the work carried out exceeded all our expectations.

Thanks to Dave and Ritchie who always arrived on time and worked non-stop to replace our tired polycarb roof.
They are such friendly, hardworking lads and nothing was too much trouble.

Thank you THI our garage conversion is looking good, it has made our hallway so much bigger, we now have a downstairs loo, shower room and utility/ bedroom. We also love the extension on the rear of our home overlooking the garden. All work carried out to a high standard by professional friendly, ground workers, plasters, carpenters, electricians, and plumbers. Thank you Damon for keeping it all on track.

We had our conservatory roof replaced with a supalite roof alongside new doors and windows. The overall result is fabulous. It was completed in late July but I’ve delayed a review to give an honest opinion of the effectiveness of the roof. In the last 6 weeks we’ve had excessive temperatures, heavy rain, thunderstorms and a drop in temperature and I can honestly say the conservatory is fabulous. Much cooler in hot sun, much warmer in cooler days and when it rains the noise is a fraction of what it used to be. Very satisfied with the end result.
The reason for only 4 stars is the overall attention to detail which in my opinion needs some improvement. Originally ordered the third week in May, the work was scheduled for early July. This was delayed twice and eventually started the last week in July. The work was deemed ‘finished’ on 28 July and I was asked to sign off the completed job to allow payment to proceed. I was not at all happy. There was some plastering missed, the sealant under the sills had ragged edges and needed trimming, and the door to floor edge had gaps, as did the conservatory wall to house joins. Having phoned to make my views clear, a whole team turned up the following day and everything was corrected within a short time. It would have been so much better if there’d simply been a final overall inspection by one responsible person rather than relying on me to sign off the quality. So much more cost effective too for THI I expect. The JHAI inspection was the following week and I was asked for the electrics safety certificate. I didn’t have one. I rang THI and was told there’s a bit of a delay on issuing them. I also discovered another oversight. We’d asked for a dimmer switch but a normal switch had been installed. I rang again and this was corrected fairly quickly as it was simply an oversight.
In summary, the end product is superb, but the experience of project management was lacking in continuity and attention to detail. All credit to Anthony who was always available as our customer care contact and was able to put things right - but so much of his time and ours was wasted dealing with issues that were very avoidable.
I’m still waiting for the electrics safety certificate.

We are extremely pleased with our new conservatory roof. Joe and Joel, the plasterer and electricians worked hard and we're a pleasure to have around. They cleaned up after themselves and have done a very professional job. Many thanks to all involved.

We are delighted with the work carried out by Tyneside Home Improvements. Any small problem was attended to and everyone involved have been friendly and approachable. Joe and Joel were excellent. All of the teams involved were very tidy and clean. They swept and hosed down at the end of every day. We would thoroughly recommend the company.

Would like to say we have found this company to be absolutely fantastic, after a minor blip at the beginning we were in contact with Kevin (via Anthony) who is the manager who came out and gave us a quote we were happy with, our new superlite roof on our conservatory looks fantastic and will make a huge difference to our home, the fitters Joe and his team and the plasterer Adam and his partner worked non stop were here when they said they would be. Both of these Teams were friendly and exceptionally good workers can not fault anyone of them so please pass this on to the guys they deserve the recognition of the amazing work carried out!
Electrician was in and out in 15mins and all done.
Having a contact to go to as in our case was Anthony who was always happy to help with any queries helped a lot. Thank you Tyneside Home Improvements for making this a pleasant experience.

We are happy with the standard of workman ship apart from the odd snag or two. However we were wrongly advised that we wouldn’t need a solid roof. We were told that the blue reflective glass would keep us cool in summer and warm in winter.
This is not the case we cannot sit in our orangery as it is overpowering hot.
We now have to spend many thousands of pounds more to make the room useable so we can sit in it!
Be very careful what roof you choose as you will regret getting a glass roof installed.
We are very disappointed more than 27k spent on a room we can’t use.
Updated on the 23rd August 2022. After a further spend of £4300 getting our roof insulated we can sit in our Orangery.
Before the insulation was fitted we had temperatures of 44C+. Now even with the sunshine today we are sitting in a comfortable 24C. So please take our advice and get a proper roof fitted on your Orangery or Conservatory so you can use it.

THI replaced my conservatory roof with a Supalite roof. Since we had the roof replaced the room is a space we can use all year round.
Everything Dan said would happen when the lads were on site was true. The lads were very courteous and cleaned up after every day.
We decided to have new blinds fitted and the company even contributed to this.

If you are looking to get your garage converted then look no further than THI! From the initial consultation to the build nothing was a hassle. Anthony and the team at THI went above and beyond to ensure everything was exactly how we wanted. Would definitely use again for any other home improvements!

Supalite Roof upgrade

Used THI for a conservatory upgrade few weeks back, nice slick operation. Waited about 5 weeks to get it put up from buying. Had good interaction with the fitting team Joe and Scott, nice finish and totallly changed the look of our house at the back. If we knew how pain free it would be we would have done it years ago.

Happy to mention they weren’t the cheapest quote we had , but can see the reasons why, real quality from start to finish.

We recently had a hybrid orangery completed by THI. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, keeping us informed and creating the minimum disruption that they could. We had several site visits from Damon (which involved everything from choosing the bricks at the outset to laying the floor as well as the assessment of ongoing work) and his approach to customer relations is outstanding. Anthony, in the office, handled our (many) phone calls and queries with patience and courtesy. The build went on for longer than expected due to various factors: one of these was a problem with obtaining materials meaning that part of the original contract could not be fulfilled (the company reduced the price and compensated), another was building work which was not up to their standard and had to be redone. We were very impressed by their handling of this second point in particular as it was the company themselves who pointed out the problem (it looked fine to us and we would have been none the wiser had they just carried on and finished!) and insisted on completely redoing the work. We have based our rating on the standard of the staff, the way that they handled problems that were often beyond their control and the fact that the finished product is more than we hoped for. Kevin, the the very “hands on” company owner who also did a much appreciated site visit, has an excellent team.

Tyneside Home Improvements is a company that outsources almost all of the work. There is no supervision of these outsourced individuals and companies. I was very disappointed with their customer service and felt I myself needed to project manage the build. When I complained I was told by the owner, Kevin, “to leave the boys alone”. The project took longer than promised and the whole process was very stressful. I got things completed only because I told them if it was not, I had to go away for some time and could not pay until I was back to see the completed project. They then got it completed and were on the phone asking for final payment (literally) two minutes after they left. I found the owner to have very poor social skills ….. when he came the final day to make sure things were completed (and he could get his money) he introduced himself and then proceeded to ask me what I had paid for the house. Stupidly I told him (rather than say none of his business) and he then told I had paid way too much. Very odd. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them.
