Sucralose worries me
Well this is my first order from VPA and it arrived quickly. The chocolate isolate tasted great. The Banana is not the ‘bliss’ portrayed. I am yet to try the Vanilla.
The thing that disappoints is that whilst the product is packed in Australia it states on the pack that only 10% of the ingredients come from Australia. The other problem I noted is ‘ Sucralose’ which I have read up on and I’m not comfortable with this artificial sweetener. Whilst I am happy enough with what I bought I doubt I will buy it again because of the Sucralose content. I’m not sure what this stuff does to my body.

We understand your concerns around sucralose and ingredient sourcing. Our protein powders are sweetened with sucralose to keep carbohydrates and fats as low as possible, which is something many of our customers look for when choosing a clean, performance-focused protein.
Sucralose has been thoroughly reviewed by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) and is approved for use at regulated levels in Australia and New Zealand. Based on current scientific evidence, regulatory authorities consider it safe for consumption within accepted daily intake guidelines.

Poor product quality and customer service
I’ve been a loyal VPA customer for years and have always loved their collagen powder, but my recent experience has been incredibly disappointing.
In early October, I received a faulty tub of collagen powder that contained visible dark clumps in the powder and a black sticky, hardened residue on the scoop, making it unsafe to consume. I contacted VPA’s customer service on October 9, and they initially replied promptly on October 10, asking for photos. I sent the requested images and details the same day.
Since then, I’ve sent multiple follow-ups (October 13 and 22) and have received no further response at all. It’s now nearly two months later, and I’ve been completely ignored.
It’s disappointing that a company I’ve supported for years shows no responsibility or communication when it comes to a potential product quality issue. The lack of follow-up or replacement — despite clear evidence and repeated polite emails — reflects very poorly on their customer service.
I’m leaving this review so others are aware that VPA may not respond or take accountability if something goes wrong with your order!

Used to be good value - no more
**** Edit after response from VPA.
The article you linked to is irrelevant.
Even the article clearly states this only affects whey protein.
This doesn’t explain the huge jump in cost of everything else over the past 2 months.
Look at the Waxy Maize for example. Another product that jumped by almost 25% and even more when you consider the bulk discounts.
So please don’t disguise these price increases as anything other than greed.
Lowered the rating even further to one star after this unsatisfactory response,
Used to be good value, but 25% price jump from one order to the next.
Will look elsewhere in future.

Great Aussie Company.
Have been loyal to another Aussie competitor in the market but felt it was time for a change.
