Wickes - Broadstairs Reviews 

Fantastic customer service from Tom the on duty manager at you Broadstairs branch. After ordering online and then the items arriving damaged, I reported straight away to your customer services by phone which was appalling over an hour on the phone and no joy, so I popped into my local branch to see if they could help, brilliant, made my life so much easier than he needed too.
Wickes this gentleman and his colleague ( sorry I didn't get his name) are an asset to your bussiness, your customer services on the phone could learn a lot from your stores.

I visited Wickes today to return a delivery I had ordered online. I was told that the refund had to be processed by a manager, so I provided my order number and was told that the manager would deal with it and that I would receive an email confirmation as soon as the refund had been processed.

I left the store having handed over all of the goods I had paid for, despite being quite reluctant to leave them there, because I had been assured that the refund would be dealt with straight away. Given the amount of money involved and the way I was told the refund had to be processed, I had no reason to believe there would be an issue.

Several hours later, I still hadn't received the refund or any confirmation, so I called the store. I was then told by a member of staff on the phone that the manager, Claire, had not actually processed the refund.

This left me in a particularly frustrating position: Wickes had my goods, I was without the money I had paid, and the person who had told me the refund would be dealt with immediately had apparently not done so.

The member of staff I spoke to on the phone was helpful in explaining what had happened, but the overall handling of the situation by management was extremely disappointing.

Very disappointing customer service, particularly from the manager involved.

We are creating a new kitchen/diner and after several visits to various kitchen retailers we opted for Wickes. From start to finish nothing has been too much trouble for our designer Farhan Choudhury from onsite visit to the final design and through the ordering process he has advised and guided us and helped us design a great kitchen. The range of kitchens is a little overwhelming to start with but after several trips to the store we were able to pick out what we wanted in terms of style and colour the quality of the kitchen is very good and we were able to take advantage of lots of the deals they had on offer so very satisfied with both quality and price of the final kitchen we bought, plus the pressure is off as you have up to 9 months to take delivery so a good deal all round. Wickes also has a good display showroom which some other retailers don’t have so we were able to get a good look and feel for each of the different kitchen designs on offer which was a good help when it came to making the choices we made for our kitchen.

Where do i start.

Painful checking out in store as everytine i go there, there is always a queue as the staff are so slow and not enough tills are open.

I ordered multiple things the other day and the checkout man scanned all the things, i was holding a trowel of which i presented when i first walked up and he scanned. At the end he said he hadnt scanned the item in my hand. I said you scanned that first mate. He then accused me of trying to steal the item. Went through what he scanned on the computer screen and said he hadnt scanned it. So he scanned it again. I was then presented with the reciept and found the duplicate item. So showed him his mistake. No apology he just said ill refund it, which took for ever as he wanted my name address number and signature.

I had items delivered to a customers address, i wasnt there to take delivery. When i went to do the job 2 days later, All but one of the 7 cement bags had splits in them and some had set.

I done a click and collect for lvt flooring the other day. I ordered 7 packs with the underlay and a few other items. I stood at the click and collect counter for 30 miniutes, I collected and there was only 6. I didnt have my phone on me as i thought i could of made a mistake. So i went out to my van to check and i did indeed order and pay for 7. I went back in, queued up again, a further 7 miniutes. Notified the young lad the mistake. He admitted his mistake and told me to go grab one of the shelf and take it. Upon leaving when walking out the store i was stopped and asked to pay for the flooring. I told them what had happened and they asked who had authorised it. The young lad had gone. I had to walk around the store to locate him to prove i wasnt stealing. I was fuming.

Today i was due a wickes delivery between 9-1pm. 3p.m no delivery or contact. I rung and no one could tell me where the order is. The tracking stated 5 stops away all day. It turned up at 4:30, guess what only 6 of the 7 sheets of ply were there. Its held the job up and the missing item wont be delivered until wednesday.

I done a guttering and soakaway job for a customer a few weeks back. The customer choose to order the goods. AGAIN multiple items missing

I have done so many click and collect orders and its quicker to just go to the store and get the items of the shelf yourseves. No one is ever at the click and collect counter, there is always a queue. There is nothing streamlined about it at all.

Even when your queueing other customers are saying what a joke this place has become. We joke about it in the pub, wickes name is mud.

Ive been recommended a another trade place of which i intend to ise from now on, as for my own sanity i cannot go into wickes

Farhan from the Thanet store was so helpful. From the visit to my home, the planning of my kitchen to all the follow up questions and queries I had. He made the whole experience easier than I expected.
I found there to be a very good range of kitchens and accrued to suit my needs. Also, the fact that my goods could be kept until my builder was ready was a God send. A different supplier I had contacted previously was less than helpful in this area, my build is complicated so I need flexibility. Customer service staff have been equally helpful. I’m very impressed so far.

Excellent customer service from Farhan, he explained everything well and made things easy to understand. We came out very happy with a kitchen that fit the budget but ensured quality was still high for what we wanted.

I'm a homeowner requiring a new bathroom with design and installation etc.

I had a consultation with Farhan at Wicks (Broadstairs). Wow, I was blown away. He was so patient, listened attentively and covered any concerns I had. He designed, planned, understood my specific space requirements and pointed out additional utilities that I had'nt even thought of. The final design was modern and exactly what I need.

I was also very, very impressed with quality of Wicks bathrooms.

Farhan was a lovely and helpful member of staff. He provided great customer service and ensured all the questions I had were answered. Very polite and friendly.

Kris was great. Friendly and knowledgeable and helped us with a few different options. It really gave us the chance to see how the kitchen would flow when finished. I would definitely recommend the service and Kris. 10/10.

Mike was so welcoming and knowledgable the first time we popped into the store, we went in knowing the overall look what we wanted but not knowing the footprint or design as our kitchen was due to be extended. This was still no problem for Mike and a few home visits and discussions later we were all set. Mike was supportive throughout and recommended the best guys for our kitchen fit too. We cannot express how great and seamless this process was for us! We absolutely love our new kitchen. Thank you to Mike at Wickes Westwood Cross and to our amazing kitchen fitters John and Jake.

We had the kitchen of our dreams designed by Mike, he gave us everything we were looking for and even some things we didn't think about ourselves that were incredibly useful. He recommended our fitters who were also top notch from dumptom park projects/Ashworth carpentry again could not fault these guys either.
100% would recommend wickes and the fitters mentioned, we are in love with our finished kitchen .

I'd like to thank the Store Manager and staff of Broadstairs Wickes in Thanet, Kent, who were so helpful when I went in to purchase bath taps and a sack of floor leveler.
I went into store 15 mins before it closed on a Saturday evening, and the manager and staff were polite and happy to help.
Even though the store was due to close for the evening, they did not rush me and helped me find the products I needed. The manager ensured the bath taps were the right size I needed, and even took our purchased items to car as the sack of floor leveler was very heavy.
Thank you for your help, it was much appreciated.

I have visited the Westwood Cross branch several times. On each occasion I have found staff unhelpful - talking to each other whilst I was waiting at the till to pay, uninterested and seemingly lacking in knowledge when responding to any questions - and very vague instructions on where to find anything.

It’s hard to know where to begin. This has been an utter nightmare from the failed design with no measurements, incompetent installer ( taken all the money ) who had to have all his work ripped out by the 2nd installer who has lied to us and still not finished the bathroom due to complete in February. Still no working bathroom. And the final straw , installers have stolen the new radiators ..luckily we have ring doorbell footage to share. Utterly awful. Stay away! No apologies from Wickes, no compensation.
