Our experience with Dr. Raffi Asadorian at Zak Dental Santa Barbara was unacceptable. The patient was rushed through an extraction without the promised meaningful consultation, repeatedly cut off when asking reasonable questions, and treated dismissively.
The extraction was extremely rough and left another tooth significantly chipped with a possible crack, followed by severe pain. Those concerns were not taken seriously afterward.
Patients deserve informed consent, respectful communication, careful treatment, and appropriate follow-up. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Dr. Asadorian or this office.

I was referred by my dentist to see a periodontist and scheduled an appointment at Zac Dental on Ruffin Road. When I showed up, I was not informed that the visit would be conducted entirely via Zoom. After waiting 30 minutes, I was told it would be another 30-minute wait, so I rescheduled. At the second appointment, I met with a general dentist via Zoom who told me I could not see a periodontist until after an initial consultation with a general dentist, something that was never explained when I booked. The consultation consisted of very basic questions and resulted in a referral to a future periodontist appointment. When I later canceled that appointment, I was assured my $80 reservation fee would be refunded. Weeks later, I still have not received the refund, and my calls and emails have gone unanswered. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of transparency, poor communication, and virtual consultations.

Hard sale pressure.
I cancelled all services they recommended and had a cleaning that was included in my insurance program. The cleaning lasted less than 10 min and the dentist was aggressive. I’ve never had a cleaning hurt. I asked for the down payment back that I gave them for the services I cancelled. They said 7 to 10 days to process. I looked at my credit card bill this morning and they charged further charges for services I had cancelled. I have not received a call back yet. I did not authorize the additional charges to my card. I will be looking for a different dentist practice. I don’t like the virtual discussion on screen. No personal interaction. Just hard sales!

Please don't go to any Zak Dental locations, they are taught to upsell customers costly treatments they don't need. If you should go here, take what they say and then get a second opinion before committing to any work. They told me I needed a couple of crowns and had a few cavities, however when I checked with another dentist he told me that wasn't even the case. Sad they're ripping people off.

🚨 Beware – Zak Dentistry on Telegraph Road 🚨

I went to Zak Dentistry for a simple, insurance-covered cleaning and left feeling overwhelmed by high-pressure sales tactics. They pushed me through 3D scans, insisted I needed tooth extraction right then and there and implants costing many many thousands, and refused to do a basic cleaning without adding expensive services. They even set follow-up appointments I never agreed or made and called me multiple times to come back.

You don’t talk with a dentist but they sit you in a chair with a computer screen in front of you with a dentist AND a high pressure sales person on the screen.

I walked out the first time and then they called me back months later and said they would do the cleaning. Made appointment and again same thing … wouldnt do cleaning and kept high pressure sales pitch. I walked out… MY CONCERN IS SOME PEOPLE WOULD BUY INTO THIS SPENDING THOUSANDS THEY DON’T HAVE.

Oh, then couple of weeks ago got another call from them that i could get the cleaning if i signed some release papers… SURE… didn’t buy into this again.

If you or someone you know goes here, be prepared. This place runs on aggressive sales, not patient care. Stay alert, especially if you feel vulnerable to pressure.
