Yourdailygerman Reviews

Yourdailygerman is a fantastic source for learning German! I've used it now for over a year and it's definitely made my learning-process easier and more fun. I especially appreciate Emanuel's approach to language-learning - he focuses more on ease than perfection. Less grammar tables and more useful tips to get by.

Best blog out there to learn German the fun way. Good for those like me who like to read a piece every other week and learn some smarter way of expressing themselves in German, or someone who wants to learn more systematically (in which case you probably need a subscription).

Not your everyday approach to the German language, and all the better for that! Amusing, informative and practical, with a strong focus on the spoken language, Emmanuel's wit and wisdom combine to help you absorb and integrate the trickier aspects, with plenty of contextual examples. Even has AI integration!

I really enjoy it when I get an email from Yourdailygerman 💕 it feels like receiving a letter from a friend. Besides, you’re learning German through his witty articles!

This is what I needed when learning German. Thomas makes the learning experience alive and relevant to real everyday life conversation. There is no better way to get the nuances as well as the basic structure of the language. Thank you Thomas!

It was a stroke of luck that I happened on this website. It has been many years since I studied German. Even though my grandfather was from Stuttgart, without someone to converse with, German had become a forgotten language. This program has brought it back. His lessons are thorough, but they are also humorous. He also explains how the language became what it is. Personally, my favorite part is not the lesson itself, but the greeting beforehand. The reading practice I get there is invaluable. Everything is designed to make the language accessible, rather than frightening. The program does offer help for those who need it, as well as answers to any questions. Learning a language has never felt so positive.

Emanuel is totally charming and informative at the same time. I love practicing my German with his help!

The best German learning website I know! The articles are written in a clear, fun and smart way. They let you understand not just the basics of the language, but most importantly the reason WHY it has evolved as it is, in such a way that it keeps sticked to your mind. Definitely worth paying the subscription!

Exceptional conversational German and German language tidbits. Excellent to keep up casual study.

The first resource that made me able to actually speak and understand in German after years of being battened around by the grammar

Yourdailygerman provides a perspective and insight you cannot find anywhere else. It is indespensible to understanding the German language.

So fantastic. Excellent, really in depth explanations; lots of examples; lots of practice opportunities; different modalities and approaches; and, not least, super engaging and quite funny. Really just the best. I'm not even living in Germany or actively studying the language anymore but I still subscribe because it's so fun and amusing, and I always pick up something new even when I'm not looking for it.

Whether you are a beginner or seasoned German language student, Emanuel can provide valuable insights that will help you to understand the language better and you’ll actually enjoy learning from him! While AI may provide a quick answer or translation, Emanuel’s site will help you to understand the why’s and how the language is constructed, and how German is actually spoken (or written) in given situations. With Emanuel, you learn and develop mastery instead of memorize and regurgitate a mindless answer.

So grateful for the website and the emails that really help me. Really engaging and look forward to reading the emails. Thanks Emanuel

Very helpful and provides information through the use of an exclusive format only available through his website. I highly recommend this website for all levels of German learners.

After more than 10 years following Yourdailygerman I can say: It is the best! and it is very funny, too!

Honestly the best website
for learning not just the nitty gritty bits of German but stuff you actually use in everyday language. Thomas breaks things down and explains in a way that gives you a sense of how the language functions, not just memorising grammar.

Really useful idiomatic and contemporary German words and phrases explained with wit and clarity so that erudition is combined with humour. The quizzes and explanations are particularly helpful.

One of the funniest and most engaging German learning blogs! Language nerd meets stand-up comedy meets etymology meets German humor.

Emmanuel writes great articles, which are very well explained, in easy to understand terms. I don't usually enjoy learning grammar, and often find the way it is explained overly complicated. Emmanuel's site takes German grammar, known for being complex, and makes it accessible--and even at times, gasp!, fun.
