Yourdailygerman Reviews

I have been reading Yourdailygerman since I moved to Berlin 9 years ago and I always learn something new as well as brush up on essentials.

I have subscribed to Yourdailygerman for years now and absolutely love it. The careful explanations of the way words are used and the subtle differences in meaning in different contexts are super helpful, and they are written in a way that keeps my attention. The quizzes are fun, and the archives an absolute treasure trove. I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is the best German education program around. I have tried many, especially before each trip to Germany and/or Austria and this one teaches the most with humor and clarity. It is also just fun to read through it, test myself by reading the German and seeing how close I can come to the translation.

Emanuel does an amazing job helping you get the basics, understand the intricacies of the language, and get a good grasp on idiomatic reading and speaking. I find this blog humourous and interesting with many useful explanations etc that I've never come across before. I've read many blogs about the German language but this is the one I keep coming back to. It's always entertaining in a way that makes even harder grammatical concepts more interesting. Also it seems very relevant for current and colloquial usage which is useful if you want to chat with native German speakers.

Emanuel has created a site filled with gems for the German learner, especially quirky yet detailed takes on grammar. His style is relaxed, knowledgeable, and patient.

Excellent bilingual newsletter explaining the German language in a creative, humorous and linguistically informed way.

This is a great site for learning and practicing German. Emmanuel teaches with clarity, humor and plenty of examples. All the nuances he provides between different word choices are really so helpful!

I have been following Yourdailygerman for several years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Different levels are covered, always advancing with reference to past lessons. Texts are imaginative and never boring. Great job!

I have been learning from this website for years, the only place I got proper explanations for confusing concepts in German.

This site is great for learning German. Not only do you learn vocabulary and grammar, but Emanuel give background on word origin and fun facts about the evolution of a word that makes learning much more interesting.

This is one of the best blogs I've come across as I am learning German. the approach he takes to really dive deep into a word, it's background, and all the multiple other words that are built upon the base word is unbelievably helpful. And if you subscribe, he has an AI Tools section integrated into his website, which has a sentence corrector built in. so you can type a sentence, and it'll give you feedback on the mistakes you made and corrections needed. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who wants to really learn German as a compliment to other more traditional learning methods.
