Pretty hard to recommend this service. No phone line is terrible and emails aren’t replied to quickly. My main issue is the psychiatrist I saw was very cold and while some of the notes were fine, there was a lot of stuff written that wasn’t true. I would definitely recommend a different service

I moved over to ADHDTA after having nothing but issues with my last provider. One of the main reasons why I left. My last supplier was the fact that it was impossible to contact them with no phone number and never replying to emails. AdhdTA didn’t have this issue until now. They don’t have a phone number. They don’t reply to email is absolutely useless and dangerous company do not use. they lied to me and then withheld my prescription from me for a follow-up review with the psychiatrist, but the thing is, I booked the appointment with the psychiatrist in the first place and they cancelled it telling me that I should have booked a doctors appointment not a psychiatrist appointment which is not what I wanted. They didn’t call me. They didn’t ask me. They’re just assumed and they cancelled my appointment. I have Adhd and it took me like a month to book a new one. And now I’m just sitting here at my house without any medication for over a week and they are refusing to even call me to talk about it.

The psychiatrist who helped my son has been fantastic. But as an organisation, I would not recommend ADHD Treatment Australia to anyone. Their service is irresponsible and verges on dangerous.

My son experienced severe psychological problems after starting medication. We needed urgent help. I emailed ADHD TA administration about my son’s condition, which included severe anxiety, paranoia and hallucinations. It took them SIX days to bother letting the psychiatrist know what was going on. In the meantime, I tried to get my son seen by another psychiatrist locally, but they refused to see him because they hadn’t assessed or diagnosed him (maybe it’s a liability issue?). This meant that during an extremely worrying period, we were virtually left in no-man’s land.

In addition to that, I had to email the admin team FOUR times to ask for a letter confirming diagnosis so we could notify our GP and the school. What should have been a simple, standard process took weeks.

Again, the psychiatrist we have seen through this service has been wonderful and we are very grateful to have his assistance. But the service being provided by ADHD Treatment Australia is an irresponsible and potentially harmful money grab.

Easy to access, well organised and genuinely supportive team from start to finish. Booking was simple, communication was clear and timely, and everything, the process and costs, was explained really well. I have been searching for the right doctor for a long time, and I couldn’t have been matched better. My psychiatrist is incredibly kind, compassionate and down to earth. He is thorough, knowledgeable and really takes the time to understand and explain everything. I honestly can’t recommend this service enough. The only downside is not finding them sooner! So grateful to finally have answers and to be moving forward with the right support.

I’ve had a really positive experience with ADHDTA. Got an appointment for an assessment within a few weeks of contacting them, and my psychiatrist was professional and efficient.
The follow-ups with their mental healht GP has been quick and easy to organise, and the GP is knowledgeable and clearly experienced with ADHD. It feels like ongoing care is properly supported here, which isn’t always easy to find.

Terrible admin, poor recommendations of their own services.
Doctors are ok but it makes the situation way more stressful with no phone number and failing to respond to emails within a reasonable timeframe. No way of contacting them or the doctors other than one generic email.

Absolutely appalling administration.Completely incompetent which makes simple things impossible. The doctor is great. The trauma this has created is inexcusable. They tried to blame their incompetence on my GP being on holiday.

It is not asking much for a practice, which is fronted solely by one administration email address, to reply to requests for replies to obtain referrals for testing and a prescription for necessary medication which had been changed.

Last week I was told to go to my pathology centre to obtain collection jars for samples for an ECG. Yes, an ECG. This person is the practice manager/administrator of a psychiatry practice serving very vulnerable patients. Luckily I knew that this was not required but others may not know and have to make a trip to a collection centre for no reason.

The patients consulting ADHD psychiatry practices are in a very vulnerable and fragile position requiring appropriate approaches by all at the practice who interact with patients. Not replying to patient emails and ignoring requests for documents which are a basic part of medical assessment and treatment and gaslighting by pointing to others, even the patient, as the reason for poor communication, only creates stress, upset, and trauma in the patient and more work for the practice. This all makes for a very traumatic experience, especially for those with PTSD, and it unnecessarily prolongs the life impacting symptoms of ADHD.

The trauma from this has wound back years of therapy for CPTSD. It has lead to friction in my home as this has had a ripple effect through my other treatments for a rare genetic condition. I am suffering from the incompetence of this practice.

On a happier note, I am actually very happy with the psychiatrist I’ve consulted. This makes me wonder if the doctors actually know what is going on. What psychiatrist would knowingly put a patient already a vulnerable position through so much trauma.

I am not alone. Not by a long shot.

As I mentioned, please report your experiences to the HCCC or the relevant authority in your state for further information on how to report this multi state practice’s issues which have negatively affected your quality of life and access to medical care. They are easily found by a Google search.

I notified the practice of when my meds would run out with weeks of notice to issue my script so that I wouldn’t have any period of time reverting to my distressing unmedicated state. That was now months ago. I have been unmedicated and my life is being very negatively impacted by the refusal to reply to my requests for my prescription and my expression to them of how it is affecting my life. If the access to more staff and a better organised administration process, this would be a great service. Sadly, to get to the good doctors you first have to get past the barrier which is the administration.
