used debit card on Royal Caribbean…

Use debit card at merchant, got double charged by Affirm, sent proof of double charge statement from merchant to Affirm to the customercare email they provided.
since i did not take a loan the funds were taking directly from my link checking account twice, now they are telling me i have to wait 45 days to get my refund, customer service was useless

There isn’t a single good thing because it never works correctly. Ever.

My god. There is no excuse for a brand this reputable to be so bad. Their customer service is as useless as trying to catch air with a net. It’s hilarious their only response is to contact them. I think you’re missing no the point of all the bad reviews, WE ALL HAVE CONTACTED YOU AND YOU STILL NEVER FIX PROBLEMS. CONNECT THE DOTS! I’ve had your customer service try fixing my verify my identity problem 1 million times I’ve made purchases before and now all of a sudden every time an error for a new purchase saying they can’t verify my identity. They say they’re gonna fix it, try have tried 3 times it doesn’t fix the problem. They don’t understand what I’m even talking about is the problem when I try talking to them and then you get it transferred I don’t know what you’re talking about and then they try fixing it thinking it’s just because it’s purchase itself as a problem if they don’t understand that my account literally is having a technical problem that needs to be fixed. I cannot like no one seems to comprehend that I’ve told everybody and no one‘s fixing the problem. I don’t get it.

I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars…

I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars through Affirm and never had any issues. My most recent purchase, I did have an issue. I ordered a product, and said product was never delivered to my house. I put in a dispute. I provided my evidence. I got an email that more evidence was requested. I provided it again. 2 days later, I got the same email. THREE TIMES, I had to resubmit my evidence. I got an email this morning that they finished their investigation and have sided with the merchant (of course they did) and that the merchant provided proof of delivery. THEY DID NOT DELIVER TO MY HOUSE!!!! They delivered to a different address, so now I am stuck paying for a product I never physically received. That's messed up. So that being said, I will not bother to use Affirm anymore!!

I had an item that never came and…

I had an item that never came and affirm determined that I was responsible with no evidence given for their determination and they are saying I still have to pay affirm. They are lazy and don’t want to deal with items that do not get delivered!

Financial Distress

I was informed by Affirm via email that I would receive a refund of $203.93. However, I was only refunded $10.20 (my down payment).

When I contacted them, I was told that the remaining balance was applied to “loan expenses”—even though my payment due date had not yet started (April 30). At no point was I informed that my refund would be reduced in this way.

Back Market, the third-party retailer, also confirmed that I should have received the full $203.93 refund since I never received my order. Affirm’s own system reflected that same refund amount on their end.

Despite this, Affirm withheld the majority of the refund without prior notice and admitted over the phone that the funds were used to cover charges that were not yet due.

This lack of transparency and failure to honor the stated refund amount caused unnecessary financial distress. I would have preferred to receive the full refund and have the account closed properly, rather than having funds applied without my knowledge or consent.

I strongly urge Affirm to improve transparency in their refund process and ensure customers are given accurate information about what they will actually receive.

I went to buy a Lauf bicycle

I went to buy a Lauf bicycle. Thought of using Affirm.
Initially told, I was/might be eligible for 12 month zero financing.... but on getting to checkout, monthly payments were not an option and all options charged interest. Minimum interest 3%... no thanks.

Credit score over 800. Will buy outright (and pay off immediately) on REI Capitol One and get a few percent back.

Ignores the TILA of 1968

This bank will agree a dollar amount for the loan and when you click ok for those terms they will come back the next day and charge you a down payment. I have used Affirm for a long time and this is the second time they have done this in a month. They say it is in the terms of the loan but there are sentences they say they may be required to take a downpayment but the never disclose the amount at the time if the agreement. I personally think that is against the truth in lending act of 1968. If you want money from me and for me to continue to use this service then be upfront about this issue, I check all over the loan terms to see if there was a dollar amount for a down payment and there was nothing in there. Cheater, cheater!!! I hate scammers

I spent two hours on the phone trying to make your foreign phone employees to understand. Even if I agreed to a down payment you should advise the consumer of the dollars amount needed. Once the terms are agreed to it looks shady when you change them from the original agreement. All it takes is is an email saying we were unable to fund your full amount therefore we need a down payment of $XXXXX. I would not be pissed if it had been handled in this manor. You way comes dangerously close to breaking the Truth in Lending Act of 1968

Thieves do NOT use them

On March 10, 2026, I placed an order with Chewy for a 12-month supply of flea and tick medication totaling $339.85. I selected Affirm’s “pay in four” option at 0% interest, and I made the first installment payment of $84.96 on the same day.

Because the product required veterinary authorization, Chewy adjusted the order to a 6-month supply. On March 11, 2026, Chewy finalized and shipped the updated order and issued a final invoice totaling $105.98.

Immediately after receiving the finalized invoice, I contacted Affirm to ensure the loan would be adjusted accordingly. During my initial communication with an Affirm representative (Lourdes), I provided the finalized invoice and explained that, having already paid $84.96, my remaining balance should be $21.02. I was informed that the loan would be adjusted.

However, the loan was never updated. After multiple follow-ups, Affirm representatives stated that an amount of $233.87 remained “pending” from the merchant and advised me to contact Chewy.

Since March 11, I have repeatedly contacted both Affirm and Chewy. Chewy has consistently confirmed, in writing, that:
• The transaction is fully finalized at $105.98
• There are no pending charges or holds for $233.87
• No additional funds are being requested or held on their end

I have provided Affirm with documentation, including itemized invoices and written confirmation from Chewy, demonstrating that the original amount was reduced and finalized. Despite this, Affirm has continued to rely on generic responses and has not meaningfully addressed the evidence submitted.

On March 30, 2026, at approximately 5:17 PM, I participated in a three-way call with a supervisor from Affirm and a supervisor from Chewy. During this call, Chewy again confirmed there were no pending charges. The Affirm supervisor acknowledged that I had provided sufficient documentation and stated the issue would be escalated.

As of April 15, 2026, the loan has still not been corrected. I most recently spoke with another Affirm supervisor (Abe), restated the full situation, and again provided all supporting documentation, including details of the prior escalation and three-way call.

Affirm continues to insist that I must wait until a merchant cutoff date of May 3, despite clear evidence that no such pending amount exists. In the meantime, they are attempting to collect payments based on the original, incorrect loan amount of $339.85 rather than the finalized charge of $105.98.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - KLARNA IS MUCH BETTER - I made a purchase and returned everything except a dog toy and made an initial payment of $12 and now they want two more payments for the same amount for an $11 dog toy which means I would have paid $36 for the toy. I tried to call but after being on hold for 13 mins the call disconnected so I tried chat but it’s AI then when i asked for a human it still felt like a robot because she didn’t understand anything. I am going to report this company to the Better Business Bureau.

Originally rated them 5 stars, praised and promoted them every chance on social media because I was that satisfied they were at least upfront and honest.. until recently.

Everyone knows that virtual cards have a set spending limit that will not accept any more than the purchase amount without being declined. After over 300 paid off loans and never a payment late, mysteriously I get a notification that my card is locked for a charge that Isn't even IN MY TRANSACTION LIST to show who it's supposed to be from That's called Stealing and FRAUD when you can't even PRODUCE THE EVIDENCE of something you claim I need to pay for before I can use the card again!!! You ADMITTED ON THE PHONE you cannot see this transaction, and still nothing is done! FRAUD BY AFFIRM!

Right after this fake charge they cannot even link to my account, a doordash order over TWO WEEKS OLD appears as pending all of a sudden when I have already settled that account. Have the proof from doordash in writing saying it's absolutely not pending, MORE FRAUD BY AFFIRM!

Don't waste your time calling as they're ALL full of it with the same ad nauseam rhetoric about how it has been escalated, which never goes anywhere!! It's literally impossible to charge that much over and the card not be declined period!!! At this point I'm alerting the authorities and my attorney.

They will now be blasted all over social media platforms with their lame excuses and FRAUD!!! Already found their fake mailing address because it's the same Regis offices I've used in another state, not an actual office. Probably in some app garage ripping people off!

Frustrating experiance

I had a very disappointing experience with Affirm.

I used Affirm to purchase an Apple computer, and my loan was approved. Shortly after, Apple canceled the order due to product unavailability. Despite this, Affirm kept the loan in “pending” status for over 39 days.

I contacted customer service multiple times and provided proof that the order had been canceled, including screenshots. Each time, I was told to “wait a few more days,” with no clear resolution or accountability.

After repeatedly following up, I had to demand escalation. Instead of resolving the issue properly, my account is now effectively blocked, and I am unable to use Affirm services at all.

This situation has caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. A canceled transaction should not take over a month to resolve, especially when documentation has already been provided.

I expected better communication, faster resolution, and fair treatment. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Affirm.

Priceline and Affirm appear to have a scam going, charging for things canceled and never received. Regulators should investigate what appears to be racketeering or other fraudulent activity. DO NOT TRUST!

Have already spent hours with your customer service. They even denied the Priceline cancelation confirnation email I offered. I'M BEING CHARGED FOR SOMETHING I DIDN'T RECEIVE AND ASSURED I WOULD NOT BE! THAT'S THEFT! I WILL NOT PAY IT!
Would I go to all this trouble if it wasn't true? NO!

NEVER EVER TRUST AFFIRM

NEVER EVER TRUST AFFIRM: SCAMMERS AND CONS!
Affirm employees tried using my affirm account for personal use. They tried using bookings.com for a motel in Georgia. I live in Oregon State, never been to Georgia! Affirm says they found in my favor, yet demand payment! Now my account has been frozen until an investigation is done! I have money in my account I can’t access!
I won’t be making any payments until the so called investigation is complete!
Affirm customer service are inept liars, the specialized team couldn’t find their way out of a wet paper bag!

Unhappy merchant

I am a merchant who has done a large amount of business through affirm over several years, and without any notice they have suspended our account, and now we are unable to reach any kind of customer support. We have tried calling multiple times and have been hung up on. We have been waiting over a week and have not had any response.

My wife ordered an item that she never…

My wife ordered an item that she never received from Nashville Metal Arts. That company at first stated delays and then later ceased all communication. She reported this to Bank of America as fraud. Affirm pressured her for more payments after the fraud report. She called Affirm after attending a family funeral. They transferred her multiple times and then said that Affirm wrote this off for bad debt. Do not trust this company!

Never again!

Never again! I used to love Affirm and had a high balance of over 8,000 at one point. Things got bad, I ended up waiting on disability but still did my best to get caught up. I just paid 1200 on this account bringing it down to 2700. Right after processing my payments, they reported three of my accounts as delinquent. Most reputable companies wouldn't report you if you are making 500 to 1000 dollar payments per month. They would appreciate the effort. Not Affirm. Once this is paid off, I won't be using them again. I think they just enjoy dinging credit on their customers.
