Aldi Rosebud
Aldi Rosebud, my wife went to buy a box of Pepsi Max today as she went through the self serve check out she was asked to open her bag “ not a large bag a woman’s hand bag” by a young women staff member, my wife felt she was being pointed out by this person in front of other customers this upset her of course, my wife is 69 years old so is a easy victim for this, had it been a man they would not have been approached, we have been shopping here since it open which is a long time and have never seen anyone being approached for the same thing, our new discussion should we spend our $800-$1000 a month here still or move to another brand supermarket.
Overpriced meat for a totally dinner
Overpriced meat for a totally underwhelming experience . I , out of character, purchased a piece for 21 day aged Scotch Fillet. I no stranger to careful cooking and the result, after careful resting, was sub standard. At $48.99 per kg this is appalling.
The upshot is my CKCS’s are recipients of my unacceptable meat from Aldi for human consumption as advertised .😡
Still nothing good or different!
We are being inundated with yet another inane Aldi ad! For heaven's sake it is time they stopped spending huge amounts on advertising and instead started employing quality staff and also improved the quality of the produce! Do not believe the latest stupid ad – the prices are only marginally lower – in most cases barely cents different to large supermarkets – always check your prices and your dockets!
The Ballina store is becoming like a third world supermarket: bare shelves, poor quality produce picked through with empty boxes all over the place; common everyday items not available; the staff seem to be brainless as they insist on checking our bags even when they can see they are folded flat in the trolley!! Really!? Apparently, they have to check all bags as the bosses watching the cameras will be onto them…I ask you, who is dumber - the operator or the boss? Where is the common sense? Maybe the bosses need to spend less time watching their staff on camera and organising the store and the orders...
So over Aldi! They think nothing of insulting our intelligence with their stupid and false ads!
There's an old review on google
There's an old review on google, which I've edited but it doesn't edit and they have 5 stars 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣considering this shows just over 1 I'll believe this website. The staff are mostly lovely but this one gentleman decided he didn't want to serve me......this is on google so check there to see the whole story. A couple of days later I got a message on my messenger from this "gentleman" girlfriend calling me a f÷=/÷n b/=ch ....that's the short version, anyhow I went back into the store to complain to the manager (kirsty) about this, I explained my story and she told me that I had offended her staff member and they have the right to be offended by ANYTHING a customer says and she will defend her staff no matter what.......I do NOT believe that aldi has the right to abuse Australian's because they don't even pay tax here.......
Aldi Noosa has the worst customer…
Aldi Noosa has the worst customer service and discriminates against cash payments. The manager ignored the request to open a register in peak times! It's an absolute disgrace as cash is legal tender!
Segregation and Discrimination Highton Victoria.
It seems Aldi Store at Highton, Victoria has started this policy of "segregation" and "discrimination". They treat White customers differently from non-white ones. White customers are allowed to use the self check facility while others are moved towards the assisted counter, even if they have to get just two small items and are often stuck behind someone with a trolley full of groceries. Any amount of protesting does not work; they have assumed that Asians and Indians are "thieves" and will steal from the store if allowed to use the self check lane. This has made buying groceries very difficult and time consuming. Just yesterday I was there and seeing me approaching an associate quickly jumped ahead and pulled out the strap to close the line. And while I was in the assisted line, he re-opened it promptly for others who were white. This kind of discrimination has not been seen anywhere in the world since South Africa got independent. Looks like Aldi if enforcing some draconian German policy; as I was told by the Store Manager on duty. Needless to add, I will not be shopping there anymore and will happily go back to Coles, which has no such silly ideology.
Aldi customer experience
On Friday 12 June at the ALDI store at Rutherford (NSW 2320) at about midday I was harassed for the second time by an ALDI female employee.
About two months ago, I was in the self-serve aisle when an employee asked to check my handbag. I did as she requested. There were several other customers in the self-serve aisle and after I showed her inside my leather handbag I asked the female employee if she intended to check the other customer's bags because at that stage, she had not checked any other people with bags in that aisle except for me. Every time I check out with my shopping at this store and this employee is working she will move towards me and ask to check my bags.
As soon as I saw that she was on the checkout today I felt physically sick on the stomach because of my previous experience of bullying. She has black hair pulled back with a large hole in one/both her ear lobes. I had shown her inside my two shopping bags and my leather handbag as I stood at the checkout this morning. Then when I moved to the front of the counter, she said sarcastically, "Can you show me inside your bag again. I did not get a good enough look." Aldi video surveillance footage will show exactly what happened and that I had opened all my bags for checking. Her behaviour towards me constitutes targeted harassment & bullying & has caused extreme distress to me.
I gathered my few items and said that I would rather go through self-checkout than be harassed.
As soon as I started to go through self-checkout another female attendant approached me at the direction of the other employee at the checkout, and launched into a loud verbal tirade about bag checking. It was aggressive with intimidating body language and in front of other customers. I had already opened up all the bags I was carrying at the first checkout. I was being targeted and harassed.
I tried to speak but she kept yelling over the top of me for what seemed to be minutes, and so I said, “please shut up". This is all happening in front of a large number of people and I was so embarrassed. I am a senior citizen and a regular shopper at this store but probably not any more. I asked to speak to the manager & a male person walked over and told me to leave all my items and get out of the store. I am a senior citizen who has recovered from cancer treatment and has a torn tendon in my hip. Currently I have six stitches in my back from surgery. Nobody who enters a retail store should be treated with such aggression and lack of respect. Just managing to get over to the shops is an effort for me. I have no milk for the week-end now.
In hindsight, I wish that I had called the police rather than left the store. I will now lodge an online complaint about the incident on the police community portal. There will be video evidence and so the Aldi employees can deny whatever they like, but the video evidence will support my statement. I had done nothing wrong. If this harassment should happen again I will not be leaving the store. I will call for the police.
There is a toxic culture at the NSW RUTHERFORD ALDI store where the bullying and harassment of customers by certain employees is practised with impunity. This type of behaviour has the potential to harm customers, and in my case has adversely affected my well-being. Aldi management would do well to address this problem.
I visited an ALDI store at…Nambour
I visited an ALDI store at approximately 3pm today to do my weekly grocery shop. Normally, I bring my husband with me because I’m 7 months pregnant and managing a full trolley alone is physically difficult. Today, I had no choice but to do it on my own.
What followed was honestly one of the most stressful and humiliating retail experiences I’ve had in years.
An older male staff member was scanning my groceries at such an aggressive speed that I was essentially forced into a physical sprint between unloading groceries, racing my trolley to the end of the checkout, and desperately trying to throw items back into my cart before they piled up. I repeatedly struggled to keep up and even asked him to slow down, but instead of showing an ounce of awareness or courtesy, he immediately started asking whether I was paying cash or card while I was still frantically trying to pack my groceries.
At what point did it become acceptable to treat customers like they’re on a production line instead of actual human beings?
And more importantly, since when did basic allowances for pregnant women and elderly customers stop mattering?
I am heavily pregnant. It was visibly obvious. Yet there was absolutely no attempt to slow down, assist, or even acknowledge that I was physically struggling.
After loading my groceries into the car, I went back into the store to raise my concerns with the deputy store manager, only to be told this is “ALDI policy” and that staff, especially those on probation, are expected to serve customers as quickly as possible.
If that truly is company policy, then perhaps it’s time for ALDI Australia to seriously reconsider the kind of customer experience they are rewarding.
Speed should never come before basic decency, awareness, or customer care.
For a company generating billions in revenue annually, I expect far better than watching heavily pregnant women being effectively rushed and overwhelmed at the checkout in the name of efficiency.
Do better, Aldi.
Shoddy Beef Dim Sims
I'm a bit of a fan of Dim Sims. Being an oldie they are very convenient; so I gave Aldi's DS's a crack.
They're "OK", but even worse was all the inedible "chewy" bits in them.'
They won't be bought again, I found a way to make good Spring Rolls. Better ingredients, and no chewy crapola?!
Quite obviously these weren't tested before they were put out on the market.
Just 5/10?!
Mind you, the Kookaburras, and the Currawongs didn't complain?!
Manic, Emotional employee
Date of Incident: 28/03/2026 Time: 4:07 PM Location: Aldi - 650 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006
1. Incident Overview: Hostile Description: This employee photo'd, exhibited aggressive, emotionally unstable behavior that actively sought to provoke a conflict rather than resolve a simple request.
2. Behavioral Audit The experience was UN-BELEIVABLE! The Power-Trip: Despite my compliance, the employee continued to issue aggressive, feckless behavior. Even after I requested to be left alone 3 times to complete my shop, AND as I was leaving he pursued me verbally, attempting to incite an argument.
Employees High Emotional Volatility: The employee appeared to be in a state of "manic" distress—angry to the point of tearing up when I photo'd and informed him a complaint would be lodged. This is a severe breach of professional conduct; a retail environment is not a venue for employees to project their internal life-struggles onto customers.
3. My Past Reviews In ALL my Google reviews. This is ONLY MY SECOND '1 star' review. Negative reviews ARE RARE FOR ME! Majority are 5 stars. I am NOT A 'KAREN'. THIS WAS A GENUINE, AGGRESSIVE, UNPROFESIONAL employee interaction.
4. Comparative Analysis: Following this horrid experience at Aldi, I transitioned to Woolworths Spring Hill. The contrast: Woolworths Spring Hill Security/Staff: Friendly with a welcoming service. No problems ever with leaving my bike out the front
Environment: Professional, respectful and CHEERFUL! Like they were HAPPY! Great little chat with the checkout guy, another employee cheerfully guided me to stock I couldn't find. An experience that was JUST WHAT I NEEDED after the manic Aldi employee.
Result: Aldi, you lost a customer FOR LIFE! and ALL the customers in my local area that I will now feed negative feedback loops into their minds EVERY VISIT I see them using an aldi products. I will re-enforce 'cheap' off products being filled with disgusting chemicals
Woolworths Spring Hill - "VIP treatment" that restored my peace of mind that Aldi Bowen Hills employee attempted to destroy. I am SO GLAD I left instead of giving my money to Aldi.
I will NEVER go to ANY Aldi even IF it is convenient at the time due to this horrid experience. Woolworths Spring Hill customer service - 10/10 VIP treatment Aldi employee disgruntled before I even arrived - 0/10. Additional Meat Complaint: Aldi Bowen Hills meat is always off before you buy it anyway. Not worth the time or the money. Many reviews reflect Aldi Bowen Hills horrid, off meat.
Aldi Interaction Transcript: Employee "You can't bring your bike in here" Me "Oh, I've done it before. I usually fill this bag up, so It is just easier." Employee "YEAH well, you can't bring your bike in anymore". Me "Ok man. I'll leave it here" (Here being just outside the front of the store). Employee "Leave it THERE, security will take your bike". Firstly, where I was going to leave it was outside his store outside his need to speak further. THIS IS THE MOMENT he should have said "Thank you for complying. Sorry for the inconvenience. Instead. His aggressiveness escalated. Me "Yeah ok man. I'll be quick" Employee "I AM TELLING YOU, NO BIKE!" even though i said I would leave it OUTSIDE the store.. still EXTREMELY aggressive. me "You've said that man. I have agreed. Go away now please, leave me alone." Employee "I am just telling you! NO BIKE!" Me "Yeah I KNOW MAN! You've told me A FEW TIMES NOW. I HAVE HEARD YOU AND AGREED! GO AWAY NOW. You're starting to annoy me" Employee "WELL JUST SO YOU KNOW.." then I cut him off Me "OH MY GOD MAN! Don't worry bro. This will be the last time I ever shop here. You're ridiculous". Employee "Well you don't have to shop here" Me "I WON'T EVER AGAIN MAN! I will be going to WOOLWORTHS Spring Hill from now on where they treat their customers with respect. Go away now. WE ARE DONE!" Employee "YOU CAN GO THERE NOW if you want" Me "oh my god. You are an absolute joke. But Ya know what. YOU'RE RIGHT! I agree. I will not be spending money wherever you're employed" Employee "Good. Go!"
Very disappointing experience at ALDI BOX HILL NSW
Very disappointing experience at ALDI Box Hill , NSW
Every time I shop here, the self-checkout area is closed, and customers are forced to wait in long queues. When asked, staff say it’s “not busy enough,” even when lines are clearly long. This wastes a lot of time.
The store is also poorly maintained — shelves often have empty boxes, and some products are damaged or broken.
Customer service is not helpful, and management does not seem to address these ongoing issues.
I won’t be returning to this store.
My preferred supermarket
My preferred supermarket, always cheaper than Coles or Woolworths
Not really different. Or different the wrong way.
Increasingly I am disappointed with food purchases from Aldi. Their fruit often is still green and tasteless when purchased. It it ripens and then deteriorates before it can be eaten. Their processed goods like asian curries are tasteless apart from being loaded with sugar. The trend for flavouring with pepper salt and loads of sugar is bad and cheap. I bought some relish made in Africa labeled traditional style. It was so sickly sweet I haven't eaten the rest yet. Another very bad thing is the totally disposable packaging and containers. No attempt has been made to make really biodegradable packaging. Massive amounts of plastic. I really hate the way their small good are packed in all plastic and hard to open packing. One product I buy or used to buy was sliced salami. These packs are a useless size hard to open cannot be resealed. I think they are designed so the buyer cannot reseal them have to use each portion. They need to really review how they do things. I hate Coles but have started shopping more there because I can buy less processed and less plastic and choose better quality fruit.
Price Gouging at its best :(
Not only Coles or Woolies that do 'price gouging' but its actually Aldi who di it cunningly and shrewdly to unsuspecting customers. Their 700 g Dark Rye Bread I used to buy for $3.69 but as per attached photos, it was noted that they have increased to $3.89 which is $0.20 more. Just imagine how much profit they make if they sell 20,000 breads per day all over Australia ! Apparently, not only bread but there are many other day-to-day items they have increased lately under the disguise of advertising saying that they are the cheapest which were carried out by research agencies with vested interests with Aldi ;)
Aldi, you don't need false specials
I have all the major stores in close proximity. I know when I shop at Aldi that I'm buying at a reasonable price. I shop for the specials at the other stores knowing they still make profit on 50% off sales. I also love the bins in the centre of the store, there is always a surprise in there.
Very…
Very rude, impatient, unfriendly, unprofessional, unhelpful and zero customer service skill by Linda at 2,Kinross parade Clyde north Victoria 3978 Newly opened Aldi store.
She almost threw glass bottle of apple cider vinegar, while billing, and not even a sorry!!!
We were loading all our purchased products from the billing area, when she finished billing and demanded we pay immediately.
My husband politely replied please give me couple of minutes, finishing last few items loading, and I will pay promptly.
She retorted I Don’t have 2 minutes!!!.She almost locked the computer screen so we cannot tap our card.No patience,if the customer has hidden disabilities, special needs, injury, illness, old age or trainers???
Zero customer service and no empathy.
Steak pumped with water don’t buy it
I bought over 20 porterhouse steaks from Aldi for an import family gathering. The meat was pumped full of water and disgustingly hard. Never again waste your money at Aldi. Grose!!
Good but not for electronics
Good prices for groceries, catalog items are also priced really well. But would recommend staying clear of their electronic catalog items, their electronics are either just poor quality (for example, “HD video camera” made the same quality video as a phone camera from 2005, or dishwasher that can dissolve dishwasher tablets) or stop working properly and/or stop working all together.
So while most things are good, electronics seem to be a real issue and you would be better saving your money and time, you might be tempted if the price seems good or ok but you get what you pay for or you don’t get what you’re expecting
We have just got home 30 kls from Aldi…
We have just got home 30 kls from Aldi purchased a bag of white grapes put in sink to rinse and a red back spider had climbed out of bag
