Asda Travel Reviews 

Very limited opening hours given it’s located in an Asda store open 7 days a week almost all day. To suggest someone would travel 30 minutes plus to go to Broadstairs from Canterbury for the pleasure of exchanging money is a joke. If you can’t open even during the working week and can’t open at least a couple of evenings either close it down completely or sack the person in charge and find someone who can manage the operation to suit clients needs.

Applied for an Asda travel card this summer for holiday in Canada. Accepted in most places except on metro & airport in Montreal, but managed to use credit card which I took as back up. Unfortunately the app has now been upgraded and not compatible with my phone so will be cancelling & going somewhere else in future.

Awful service , closed for over 2 hours when I went down this afternoon ( little clock saying nipped out back at 5.45 ) went back at 7.50 2 members of staff there refused to serve me saying they were cashing up ( audit apparently) I explained I’d already driven down on afternoon . I stated opening times were 9am -8pm , they just ignored me . I asked who I complain to they said customer services , I spoke to customer services apparently nothing to do with them . Asda travel money only let you complain in writing which I intend to do . Awful service will never use again . Gold standard my A.. e

Went to New York and had a lot of money on this Asda pre paid card, it worked the first day then declined everyday afterwards, restaurants, subway just everything. Luckily I had a credit card so used that throughout the trip. Tried ringing the number, press 3 to speak to someone...sorry this number is not recognised, please try again!
Came home and had all the money transferred back to my current account, asked if they knew why it kept declining, wouldn't or couldn't answer, said that I can't trust this card now so wont be using it again. Is that all I can help you with today madam...they couldn't care less.

Put my travel money on Asda travel money Mastercard . Landed aboard in Portugal and card was not working left stranded in restaurant because problem with card . Asda travel money couldn’t sort the problem !!! Waited over four hours until resolved . Put on hold for hours !!! Absolutely useless company !!! Wasted a whole day on holiday . DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY !!!

Well, so far so good. After reading the Reviews on here I am now a little wary?
Went to ROBIN PARK in Wigan just to see what was what. MAGGIE, the Travel Desk Courier was very good. Informative, polite and welcoming. Never had such a laugh parting with money!!!!!!

I have been 3 times in the last 4 days to try and get currency. Always on a break and back in an hour. Each visit I made to store were at different times of the day. I went again today for the 4th time and they were just heading for a break and couldn't pop back in the kiosk as it would take 5 to 10 minutes to set it all back up which would delay their break. 💰 💵

Attempted to collect my order after confirming that as a joint account holder I would be able to do so, upon collection I was told I couldn't. Discussed cancelling the order with the counter colleague who said I would recieve an immediate refund only to bring told by her after refunding that it would take a week! She made a call and confirmed funds would be released that night. Refund processed 5 days later minus £10 cancellation fee that I was not made aware of and not informed of.

Staff tell you what you want to hear to make a sale with no regard for what they can actually deliver and then charge you fees without telling you that they are doing so.

Crap. Went to money exchange at Asda in Lowestoft. Miserable service off man behind counter. All he had was a grand U.S in one dollar bills and a small bunch of five dollar bills. No use to me at all. He gave me a poxy rate so I went to the money exchange in the post office inside the WHSMITH store on the high street and got pleasant professional service and far MORE money because of a much better exchange rate than the Asda teller was offering! If you need holiday cash go to where I suggested. And do not have your money put on a holiday smart card as overseas you're charged 3 pounds each time you use it. Get cash, every time.

I have had an ASDA Mastercard for a while now, I have been the victim of fraud, try to take money out in an ATM in Egypt and no cash was dispensed, I have reported the same day, they refunded me 2 weeks later and this week they charged me back saying I had the money, I am out of pocket but will not be using their service or recomend them to anyone - do yourself a favour and STAY AWAY from them, they are in on your side when problems occur, shop around like I am doing now, many more cheaper options available in many more currencies

RIP off merchants and deceitful staff. My first time getting a travel card.

£400 in euro on a card and £350 in cash. Asked to protected my rates and paid a few pounds for the proveledge

Kept cash on card mainly amd went back to be told. No it’s only the cash that’s protected and was given a lot less rate back than you do in the canaries

Told me my card wasn’t protected and gave me more than £20 less than I paid for euro going

So ripped off going and coming back with not being told of the logistics being a naive man

Asda bureau de change in Bromborough Wirral. I always get my travel money here but the last 2 times the attitude of staff have really put me off using them. Approximately 5 weeks ago I ordered my currency online and on the day I was due to collect I was in the area at 12:30pm, so called in on the off chance that it was ready. There was no queue and the guy in the booth didn’t seem to be doing anything told me that I could not collect until after 3pm, so I left and returned the following day. On my return I was told by his colleague that he could have given me the money earlier, and that her colleague was ‘just lazy’. I was surprised and thought this unprofessional but left it at that.
A few days ago I ordered some further currency for a different trip. I walked in yesterday and the second colleague was in the booth (the one who made the comment). I admit I was early again but I explained I was in the area, to be told that I couldn’t collect till after 3pm, so I explained that she was the one who had previously told me that I could collect earlier if the money was available. She was very offhand and I felt like I was being told off! Very rude and when I said thank you she didn’t even acknowledge me.
Bearing in mind I travel about 4 times a year, I’ll be taking my custom and my money elsewhere from now on.

PLEASE STAY AWAY from getting your currency. Very rude staff member at Asda currency in toryglen Glasgow, didn’t deliver my order which was ordered 4 days in advance ,didn’t have the decency to inform me before I went in to collect it .. big let down , no empathy shown , the black lady behind the counter had an attitude that stank a mile away . Never going back

Have had problems the last 2 times I ordered euros on line and went to pick them up at Kendal Asda.
Last time the money delivery did not arrive at the right time so I had to return the next day. This time I arrived during the advertised opening times to find no one there! Asda staff on the self service tills said they hadn’t seen anyone and there was no note on the booth to explain it was closed. Thank goodness I buy in advance of my holiday or it would be a disaster.
Am now having to go back tomorrow and fortunately I only live down the road but no good if you live miles away. Don’t think I will be ordering currency from them again.

Got my teenage son an Asda money card to take to Turkey, as this was sold to me as incurring zero fees. He has been charged at least £3 per transaction he has made on this card. This is not advertised, and furthermore I was told specifically that no charges would be applied for spending abroad and this included Turkey. All in all lost about £60! Absolute rip off. Don’t even bother calling customer services, they don’t understand you and vice versa. Shocking day light robbery! Wished I’d have checked reviews first.

Don't use this card had money on the card and it declined a payment for 164 euros had to you my UK debit card when I looked later it had took the payment twice saying pending be 5 days and last 328 euros taken out and not put back in
Called them waste of time

Had post office one used it loads no problem at all so don't get a asda travel card

****Warning Do Not Get This Card To Take Abroad Simply*** a lot of stress hassle & unnecessary bs & miscommunication with a Philippines call centre badly handling ALL enquiries relating to your card which they didn’t understand me nor me them very frustrating to say the least & put it mildly but in a nutshell I lost my card 3 days into a 28 trip & was advised they’d send a replacement to my hotel it never arrived but get home to find they delivered it to my home address instead an absolute joke to deal with a nightmare to liaise with & Would Not Recommend You Get This If you want no hassle and peace of mind this whole situation has been an absolute farce to put it mildly & a card I’d definately avoid using in the future backed by travelex.com which 2 staff admitted today that the call centre are a complete nightmare to deal with Do yourself a favour & Avoid Getting This At All Costs my story alone could be a book What a waste of time energy and effort Truly terrible I have nothing else to say but for your own peace of mind avoid these reviews alone warrant an avoidance of this card backed up by a very poor service card and customer service it is absolutely farcical that the matters we raise are dealt with in a Philippines call centre who Have Not a clue about us show any care or attention they do not listen and send your replacement card back home instead of where you need it so lost for words am escalating to the FCA simply as getting no where with these lot currently and am beyond any more words but felt I needed to add this review to prevent any one thinking about getting this or wanting this card as is a complete nightmare and has been from start to finish and the service provided has been really bad & to much hassle for my
brain for sure Avoid Avoid Avoid is where I’ll end this If you get this card you have two Hopes Bob & None 10000%

It's an absolute nightmare trying to top up the card.
