I’m enjoying all the experience, i was looking for an exchange program where I could travel and visit new places, and with this one I’m able to do. Also, all the time that i needed to talk with my LCC to ask something, she always answered quickly and helped me.

I had a really good experience with AuPairCare during my J-1 Trainee program, where I worked as a Marketing Intern. It was a great opportunity to learn about marketing in a different environment and also experience the cultural exchange that comes with the J-1 program.

Sarah, the Vice President, Patti, Director of Communications, and my two managers were all very good guides during my time there. They were always supportive, patient, and willing to help me when I had questions or needed advice. I really appreciated having people around me who wanted me to learn and improve.

The work environment was also very nice and welcoming. I always felt comfortable being myself and sharing my ideas, even when English was not my first language. I think everyone at AuPairCare is a great representation of what cultural exchange should be about: learning from each other, meeting people from different backgrounds, and creating a positive experience.

I am very thankful for everything I learned, the people I met, and the experience I had with AuPairCare. It was a very important part of my professional and personal growth, and I would definitely recommend the program to other international trainees.

My experience with AuPairCare has been absolutely amazing, and I honestly could not have asked for a better organization to guide me through such a life-changing experience. Choosing to become an au pair and move from South Africa to the United States was a huge decision, and although I was incredibly excited, I also had many nerves and questions about what my new life would be like. What I really appreciate about AuPairCare is that they understand that becoming an au pair is about so much more than simply travelling to another country. Moving so far away from home can be scary. There are moments when you feel nervous, homesick, or unsure of yourself, especially when everything around you is new. Knowing that AuPairCare is there to support you gives you an extra sense of comfort. It makes you feel that even though you are far away from home, you are not completely alone.

I am especially grateful for the support and guidance I received before my departure. The communication from the AuPairCare representatives helped me feel more prepared and gave me confidence that I was making the right decision. They were there to answer my questions, explain things when I was unsure, and help me understand what to expect from the au pair experience.

The matching process was also such an important part of my journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity AuPairCare gave me to find a host family that I could start this new chapter with. Finding the right host family can feel like a very big and sometimes overwhelming decision, but having the support of the program throughout the process made it feel much more manageable.

Since starting my journey, I have already learned so much about myself. Being an au pair has challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone, become more independent, trust myself, and handle situations that I may not have experienced before. I know that this experience is going to help me grow not only personally, but also professionally and emotionally.

I would 100% recommend AuPairCare to anyone considering becoming an au pair. If you are someone who dreams of experiencing life in another country, working with children, learning about a different culture, meeting new people, and challenging yourself to grow, I truly believe this is an incredible opportunity.

Of course, it is completely normal to be scared before making such a big move. I was nervous too. But sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and trust that something amazing can come from stepping outside of your comfort zone. AuPairCare gave me the opportunity to take that leap, and I am so grateful that I did.

I had the best experience with AuPairCare! The AuPairs very clearly have limited vetting. It appears this agency is more about getting money that is non-refundable than providing reasonable care. Even if an AuPair ends a match without providing a legitimate reason, the AuPair is in no way penalized. Yet the host family has to eat the cost invested and that money is just gone.

I chose AuPairCare because I was promised comprehensive on-site care and support. Unfortunately, I had to cut my stay in the U.S. short after a very short time. While the placement with the host family went smoothly, the reality on the ground did not match the agreements in any way. When problems arose, the promised crisis support completely failed. Furthermore, I was told far too late that there were other people at the agency who could have helped me with the matching process.
During the rematch phase, I was placed in a very expensive hotel without any active assistance. The subsequent support from the Area Director was marked by unprofessional pressure, accusations, and comparisons rather than offering me structure or support in my search for a new family.
Despite these demonstrable shortcomings in support, the agency categorically refuses to refund even a portion of the program fees. Anyone who values reliable support in difficult situations is, unfortunately, in the wrong place here. I am deeply disappointed by how young people in exceptional circumstances are treated here.

I would like to thank my AC Ana McGee. She is the best. She was so helpful in every aspect. I could always text her and ask for help. She was always there for me and she supported me in every step. There’s no better AC.

My Au Pair year has been an incredible experience that I will never forget. I was lucky to have a wonderful host family who always treated me with kindness and made me feel at home from the very beginning.

One of the best parts of this year has been the amazing friendships I made. I know I’m leaving with friends for life, and I’m so grateful for all the memories we shared together.

The LCCs were also amazing. They were always there to help us whenever we needed anything, and they organized so many fun activities throughout the year that made the experience even more special.

Of course, the winter was very cold, but it was worth it! I had the opportunity to travel, discover so many beautiful places, and experience life in the United States in a way I never could have imagined.

It makes me really sad to say goodbye because this year has been one of the best experiences of my life. I will always be thankful for everything I learned, the people I met, and all the unforgettable memories I’m taking home. ⭐️

I paid AuPairCare a $2,000 placement fee with the expectation that they would provide an au pair placement and support through the program. An au pair was placed with my family, but the match ended after approximately 5 days when the au pair voluntarily chose to leave and return home.After the match ended, I was informed that my family would be able to move forward with a rematch. I relied on that information and expected AuPairCare to continue providing the placement services I paid for.There was a dispute regarding payment to the au pair after the match ended. AuPairCare then terminated my host family participation and blocked my account, preventing me from continuing through the rematch process.I have not received the placement service I paid for, and AuPairCare has refused to refund my $2,000 fee. I am requesting a refund of the the full fee given that the initial match ended after only 5 days and the promised rematch process was not completed. On top of the $2000 that was supposed to cover 52 days of the au pair working with me which never happened - they also requested an additional payment made directly to the au pair even though she did not work and even though they are holding on to my $2000 for 2 months service towards the au pair.I have documentation available, including payment records, communications regarding the rematch, the au pair’s voluntary departure, and the termination notice.

Very disappointed in an agency whose mission is supposedly to support positive cultural exchange and successful placements.

After multiple placements with Au Pair Care over the past year, including our current amicable rematch, I’ve experienced firsthand how the agency’s policies work in practice—and they make thoughtful planning unnecessarily difficult.

Our current au pair is a wonderful person, but she’s simply a better fit for a different family. We mutually agreed to stay together through the summer so she has time to find the right host family and our children experience a smooth transition.

As a paying customer, I should be able to begin interviewing out-of-country candidates while she finishes her commitment. Instead, Au Pair Care refuses to let me access the candidate pool unless I’ve hosted an au pair for six months or enter a mandatory two-week rematch.

The result? Our au pair loses valuable time to find the right family, and because out-of-country visas take about six weeks, my family will likely be without childcare for more than a month.

Most frustrating is that this is a policy choice, not a logistical limitation. We have the space, an approved home, and I even offered to pay additional fees to temporarily host two au pairs during the transition. Au Pair Care simply refuses to allow it.

I paid this agency to help us find the best match—not to force us into an artificial deadline that increases the likelihood of a poor one.

This policy doesn’t serve families. It doesn’t serve au pairs. And it certainly doesn’t serve the children at the center of the program. Everyone deserves better.

The transition to a new country was incredibly smooth thanks to the amazing guidance and continuous support provided from day one. The agency excels at keeping in touch, organizing local monthly meetings to connect with other au pairs, and checking in regularly to ensure both the au pair and the host family are doing well.

Everything was good, my host kid love me and I love him so muchhhh!! We have the same energy, we are play, dance, have fun together and explore everything together. I looovee him!

I learned more about patience, and I had the privilege of visiting Lake Chelan with my family; it was a wonderful experience.

This month has been going really well. I feel more comfortable with my routine and have settled into my role. My relationship with the children keeps improving, and I get along very well with my host family. Overall, my au pair experience has been very positive.

My host family is the best family ever. When we they go out I am also asked if I would like to go with them which makes me feel happy that I'm needed when they go out and it makes me feel like I'm part of the family. They buy food for me and make food for me, they ask about how my night or day was and that means alot to me. They ask me alot of questions about my culture and tradition and that makes me feel happy to know that they are interested in learning about my culture and tradition. We have meetings every week to know if there is anything that needs to change or if anything should be done in a different way. They tell me stories about each other during breakfast or dinner and I love that they want me to know somethings about them. They always ask me if I am good and that makes me feel happy that they always ask me that. They are a really nice , kind and loving family . The host kids make me look like their big sister, they always check on me when I am not around. The parents make sure that I am safe and protected in my room at all times. The parents always offer help with the girls and always insist that I take a power nap during the day to gain energy for later. They never make me feel like I'm all alone and don't have nobody. They always ask about how my family is doing back home. They always invite me to do new things with them like pickaball and tennis. The older host kids really like it when I play with them outside whenever their parents can't and I feel like that's a good thing.
