Seit mittlerweile vier Jahren nutzen wir AuPairWorld und haben über die Plattform vier wundervolle Au-pairs gefunden, die unser Familienleben sehr bereichert haben. Dafür sind wir sehr dankbar.
In letzter Zeit beobachten wir jedoch eine Entwicklung, die wir enttäuschend finden: Immer häufiger kommt es vor, dass Bewerber:innen nach intensivem, positivem Austausch plötzlich nicht mehr antworten – sogenanntes „Ghosting“. In einem Fall führten wir ein über einstündiges, sehr gutes Gespräch und vereinbarten eine gegenseitige Rückmeldung – doch danach kam nie wieder etwas. In einem anderen Fall wurde ein fester Videocall vereinbart, zu dem die Bewerberin nicht erschien und sich anschließend ebenfalls nie mehr meldete.
Gerade für Familien mit kleinen Kindern ist Zeit ein knappes Gut. Es ist frustrierend und ärgerlich, wenn man sie investiert – und dann mit völliger Funkstille konfrontiert wird. Noch enttäuschender ist, dass dieses Verhalten offenbar kein Einzelfall ist. Auch befreundete Familien und meine Schwester, die ebenfalls seit Jahren erfolgreich über AuPairWorld suchen, berichten zunehmend von solchen Erlebnissen.
Wir haben diese Erfahrungen konstruktiv per E-Mail an AuPairWorld zurückgemeldet – immerhin sind es die Gastfamilien, die für den Service zahlen und damit die Plattform finanzieren. Leider kam auf unsere ausführliche und sachlich formulierte Nachricht keinerlei Reaktion. Das hinterlässt den Eindruck, dass die Perspektive der zahlenden Kund:innen keine besondere Priorität hat.
Ein weiteres Beispiel dafür ist die Entfernung der früher sehr hilfreichen Anzeige der Antwortrate eines Profils. Früher konnte man direkt erkennen, ob ein:e Bewerber:in überhaupt aktiv kommuniziert – eine sinnvolle Funktion, die auch als Anreiz diente, zuverlässig zu antworten. Heute gibt es stattdessen Aussagen wie „antwortet in der Regel innerhalb mehrerer Stunden“. Was soll das konkret bedeuten? Wie viele Prozent der Nachrichten werden überhaupt beantwortet? Diese Information ist für Familien in der Praxis wenig hilfreich.
Der Eindruck verstärkt sich: Die Zeit der Gastfamilien scheint auf der Plattform keinen echten Wert mehr zu haben. Obwohl sie für den Service zahlen, wird in Kauf genommen, dass Familien viel Zeit investieren und dabei oft auf unzuverlässige Profile treffen – ohne dass es auf Bewerberseite einen spürbaren Anreiz gibt, sich verbindlich oder respektvoll zu verhalten.
Ein Vorschlag: Vielleicht könnte ein anonymes Feedback-Modul eingeführt werden, über das Gastfamilien den Ablauf des Bewerbungsprozesses bewerten können. So ließe sich bei wiederholter Unzuverlässigkeit ein Hinweis für andere Familien sichtbar machen – was Frust vermeiden und die Vermittlungsqualität stärken würde.
Wir schätzen AuPairWorld weiterhin sehr und würden uns freuen, wenn unsere Rückmeldung als Impuls für Weiterentwicklungen verstanden wird – im Interesse beider Seiten: Au-pairs und Familien.

Like many others I was sceptical of au…
Like many others I was sceptical of au pair world, BUT it has helped me find the most amazing host family! It lets you explore thousands of host family’s from multiple countries at once! Just make sure you ask the host family the right questions (au pair world has question examples and TikTok has some good ones too!)and call a few times and you’ll be right ! I will definitely be using the site again!!

A satisfying website
The website is well structured, you get a lot of useful information through the family's profile and, if you're interested, you can message them whenever you want, also to ask questions and schedule video calls. I suggest future AuPairs to look for further information about AuPair rules in the country/countries you're interested in (they're also explained in the website), because you may know in advance your pocket money and who will pay for the insurance. In my case, it took me a little bit more than expected to find a host family: a woman from Germany texted me for the first time just 10 days before I actually started my experience with them: they had all the requirements I was looking for and I suddenly accepted. It would have been a little bit easier if I had found them previously through my dashboard; instead, I mainly found families with conditions that didn't satisfied me completely, except for 3 or 4 of them (but they had already found an AuPair). Overall, my experience was really nice, the family was always kind to me and we did a lot of activities! I will always keep those weeks in my heart.

Très déçue
Très déçue par mon expérience sur ce site. Après plusieurs mois d’échanges avec des familles et même une rencontre avec une famille à l’étranger, mon profil a été soudainement bloqué sans aucune explication. J’ai contacté le service d’aide pour comprendre la raison de cette suppression, mais je n’ai reçu aucune réponse.
C’est extrêmement frustrant, surtout après avoir investi du temps et de l’énergie dans la recherche d’une famille. Le manque de transparence et de communication du site est inacceptable. Si vous cherchez une plateforme sérieuse et fiable, ce n’est pas ici !

Pessimo portale e pessima esperienza
Ho scritto a 13 ragazze e solo 1 ha risposto per poi sparire nel nulla dopo la video call. Sono stata invece contattata da 2 ragazze ma anche loro sono sparite nel nulla ancora prima di conoscerci!! Che senso ha iscriversi a un portale per fare la ragazza alla pari se poi non rispondi quando ricevi una richiesta! Una perdita di tempo assurda, ragazze poco serie nel prendere un impegno.
Il portale non fa selezioni sulle ragazze e le loro motivazioni?
Per fortuna ho pagato solo per 1 mese! Buttato via 50 Euro!
Esperienza veramente pessima!!!!
