Nous avons été très satisfaits de notre expérience avec cette entreprise. Tout a été simple, rapide et parfaitement organisé. Le véhicule était en excellent état et le service était professionnel du début à la fin. Nous recommandons cette agence sans hésitation.

Rented a car for 3 days from their Split downtown (near the ferry location). Upon returning it was a total SCAM. They literally gave us the car dirty, with bird poop and less than half a tank of gas (so after a long day traveling the first thing you had to do is find a station). Not the reason for my bad review, just annoying.

They gave us a "new" car. Had been driven over 2000km and the worker had a scooter in the back (scratching it up).

We return the car to the most anal inspection we've ever witnessed. He "finds" two small nicks in the lower, back bumper. When I say small, like I couldn't get a picture on my Google phone or my son's iPhone. He said this is damage from us.... we're like no. But he just kept saying it's a new car and that the rules in Croatia are different for damage.

Okay: fact check.....they are not. We've rented cars all over the world (France, Italy, England, Mexico, Dominican Republic, I could go on). NEVER have I ever seen an inspection like this and upon research online the rules aren't different it's that these companies are corrupt.

We drove it on all paved roads to KrKa, Plitvice & Mostar. So 300 euro charge and almost an hour of our time later. Oh, and the damage charge included a service fee & tax...

So we'll claim it through our credit card insurance AND dispute the charge to delay any payments to them .....but I hope this review causes them to lose business because it's honestly a joke.

Any damage that is smaller than a grain of rice is a ridiculous the level of scrutiny. And for them to say Croatia has different rules is a lie. They don't, they just look for trumped up damage to make money. It's called corruption.

I've rented cars all over the world. This was the worst experience. Good luck people.

Oh and a new car doesn't have over 2000 km on it, scratches in the back from their scooter and bird crap and dirt all over it.

We had an excellent experience with Avax and would absolutely rent from them again!

The car was practically brand new, in perfect condition, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The price was incredibly competitive, even with the full coverage insurance, making it one of the best value rental experiences we've had.

A huge thank you to Aaron, who was friendly, professional, and very accommodating throughout the whole process. He made everything easy and stress-free.

Another big advantage is that they accept debit cards, which is not always the case with car rental companies and made the whole experience much more convenient for us.

Communication through WhatsApp was simply perfect. They replied quickly, answered all our questions, and everything was clear and straightforward from start to finish.

When we come back to Croatia, we won't hesitate for a second to rent with Avax again. Highly recommended!

Szybka i bezproblemowa obsługa w razie pytań odpisywali bardzo szybko i konkretnie, auto nowe działające bardzo dobrze, jeden z największych plusów w porównaniu do konkurencji to brak kaucji. Wypożyczalnia godna polecenia.

Great service. The main guy at the reception was friendly and helped us a lot. The car was great so I would really recommend this place.

Worst company EVER! I booked a car for my daughter and correctly put in her age and even paid more for that, when she arrived at thecairport in Split the refused to rent the car to her since she was under 21. When she asked that we put in the correct age when we reserved the car their explanation was that their system was wrong!

I tried to contact them and was promised that a manager would contact me but no response!

The person who was my daughters contact person refused to talk to me over the phone and started cursing me in Croatian to a colleague of hers but she did not know I could hear everything and that I also understand the language…what a great service 😳.

NEVER will I rent from this company again.

Employee professionals, new vehicles. Everything went well and within the agreed values. On the last day I asked to keep the car for another 14 hours at night and they didn't charge anything I recommend ! 7 stars

If you are looking for a safe trip and cozy, spacious car in Croatia-I recommend Avax! We rented Kia CEED SW 2024. to travel to an island, with a lot of baby stuff and formal clothing to attend to an event. The service itself was excellent and fast, the car was clean, the gas instructions were displayed and all the needed documents for a road check up were included. The service is affordable and not expensive for everything that was included in the contract. With all that, there is also a car warranty available to shield you from the damage that can happen while you are on the road. We were very satisfied and we recommended Avax.

I had an excellent experience with AVAX car rental company from start to finish. The booking process was simple and transparent, with no hidden fees or surprises as long you get full insurance from them which is not expensive. When I arrived Dubronik Bojan send me whatsapp message and video where to get the car location. HE was friendly, professional, and ready to assist right away.
The car itself was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. It drove smoothly from Dubronik to Mostar back and forth (3days) and made my trip much more comfortable and enjoyable. I also appreciated how quick and hassle-free both the pick-up and return processes were.
Customer service really stood out—they were responsive, helpful, and genuinely cared about making my experience a positive one. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable and stress-free car rental, and I will gladly use their services again in the future.

Super das wir ein Auto ohne Kreditkarte mieten konnten. Der Office ist leider nicht direkt am Flughafen, wir wurden abgeholt, mussten aber 35 Minuten warten. Das Fahrzeug hatte äußerlich einige kleine macken. Innen die Polster waren auch nicht mehr so sauber. 25000 km Laufleistung.

Der Empfang sowie die Auslieferung war freundlich und deutlich.

Bei der Rückgabe wurde das Fahrzeug cm für cm nach kleinen Schäden untersucht. Auch Unterboden...und das mit einer Vollversicherung.

Alles in allem verlief alles super und können diese Autovermietung empfehlen.

Es war echt super entspannt..
wir benötigten keine kreditkarte, eine Debitkarte hat vollkommen geschickt..
wir wurden am Flughafen abgeholt und direkt ins Büro gefahren..
wenn man keine Kreditkarte hat, zahlt man halt 50€ Aufpreis und man erhält die premium Versicherung für 70€ ca Aufpreis..
Mitarbeiterin super freundlich..
auch die Kommunikation erst über WhatsApp, dann persönlich super geklappt..
Das Auto was wir vorerst gebucht hatten, war nicht verfügbar, haben sofort ein größeres erhalten zu den geichen
Konditionen erhalten.. immer wieder gerne

I recommend Avax wholeheartedly. We came to them having had a very bad experience with another car rental company Carwiz in Zagreb, reviewed on this site separately. We’d had to walk away in some despair, still needing a car to continue our trip and wondering if we’d have to rethink our plans and potentially lose accommodation bookings we’d made. Fortunately within an hour Avax had offered us a straightforward, no nonsense rental with no hidden costs or last minute complications which met all our needs. Though more expensive than our original quote from Carwiz, which had turned out to be a fantasy anyway, Avax’s price felt fair and honest for the service and was still a third cheaper than some other companies we tried. Throughout the process the agents we dealt with were polite, efficient and communicated well with us, to ensure we had all the information we needed for smooth handovers. We got a car that perfectly suited our needs, in good condition and we were able to travel on comfortably and confidently to eventually drop the car at Split airport 10 days later. Drop off was easy. They gave us some last minute flexibility on timing so we didn’t have to stress about being charged for being late if traffic was worse than we thought, which we really appreciated, and they even made sure to give us a lift to the airport so we didn’t have to walk 10 minutes in the heat.

Kind and helpful employees. Pick up and drop off were easy, quick and efficient. We were given a bigger car for no extra cost and they helped us out with our luggage problem. Would definitely recommend.

Highly recommended. Fantastic helpful staff, transparency in prices, clarity on the benefits of buying the Premium insurance, flexibility on returning car to a different location. I booked separate rentals in 2 locations in June 2025 - Dubrovnik and Split - in both cases returning to a different location.

Für unseren Aufenthalt in Dubrovnik haben wir über das Online-Portal einen Mietwagen aus der Kategorie „Kleinwagen“ zum Preis von 185 Euro gebucht. Zusätzlich wählten wir folgende Optionen:

Grenzübertritt (Cross Border): kostenfrei, damit Fahrten in Nachbarländer möglich sind

Rückgabe außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten (Out of Hours Drop-off): 50 Euro, da die Rückgabe um 4 Uhr morgens erfolgte

Buchung ohne Kreditkarte: 60 Euro

Premium-Versicherungspaket: 60 Euro, wurde automatisch hinzugefügt, da keine Kreditkarte hinterlegt wurde

Obwohl die Zusatzkosten den Gesamtpreis deutlich erhöhten, entschieden wir uns bewusst für dieses Angebot, da das Unternehmen über sehr gute Bewertungen verfügte. Unser Ziel war es, vor Ort keine unangenehmen Überraschungen durch versteckte Gebühren zu erleben.

Die Abholung des Fahrzeugs in Dubrovnik verlief reibungslos. Da kein Kleinwagen verfügbar war, wurde uns ohne Aufpreis ein Fahrzeug einer höheren Kategorie zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Fahrzeug wurde uns vor Ort gezeigt und alle vorhandenen Schäden wurden transparent dokumentiert und im Übergabeprotokoll festgehalten. Vor Ort bezahlten wir exakt den Betrag, der auch in der Buchungsbestätigung aufgeführt war – es kamen keine zusätzlichen Kosten hinzu.

Die Rückgabe des Fahrzeugs erfolgte planmäßig um 4 Uhr morgens durch Abstellen auf dem vorgesehenen Parkplatz. Eine weitere Kommunikation seitens des Anbieters war nicht notwendig, es gab keine Nachforderungen oder sonstige Probleme.

Fazit: Wir waren mit dem gesamten Ablauf sehr zufrieden – von der Buchung über die Fahrzeugübernahme bis zur Rückgabe. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben sind die Transparenz, der faire Umgang und das zuverlässige Handling vor Ort.

We arrived for the day off of a cruise ship. We wanted to rent a car for a few hours to drive down the coast from Split. Avax was quick to deliver what we needed. The car was newer and drove extremely well. The staff were professional and friendly. Our overall experience was excellent. Highly recommend Avax rent a car.
