Amazing and arranging car rental company! Great offers For cars and prices, very easy to communicate with, I highly recommend this company over the other "more famous" ones !

Was a really bad experience. They took the car 36 hs. before the contract end, and don´t want to return my money back. Really informal service. Take care of them.

reserve un coche para tres días con el seguro Premium para que no me cargarán nada en la tarjeta, sólo pagar lo que valía el alquiler. Llegó a la oficina y me cobran 100 kunas (Croacia) por un recargo que supuestamente tienen que cobrar y luego se me devolverá. Este recargo no venía explicado en ningún sitio de su web. Es poco dinero pero jode que ya empiezas pagando más.
El coche muy la verdad. casi nuevo y perfecto funcionamiento.
En el.contrato tenía para devolver El coche en una oficina de Dubronik, al lado de mi hotel . una hora buscando la oficina y resulta que no existe. Tuvimos que ir a otra,lo bueno que el chico nos acerco al hotel.
tendrían que mejorar un poco el tema de informar de todo lo que hay que pagar e incluso tener a alguien que por lo menos hable español.

Avoid AVAX rent a car if you hire a car at Split airport. They are NOT located in the airport, but 1.5 km away, our flight arrived earlier than planned and they took 3 hours to come to the airport and provide a dirty car, with half-filled tank. In the meanwhile the whole family had to wait in the crowded airport. They had no baby seat (which we previously booked online) but a booster (which we had to pay as a complete seat). Finally they charged 35€ for an early morning return and refused to provide a receipt for this. Worst custom service I've ever had from a rental company.

Booked a Suzuki Baleno from Split for 5 days.  Got upgraded to a Kia Ceed. Pick up was fuss-free.

Quick tip here: Pay in cash (Kunas only) and get a 10% discount off your total bill.

Not used to driving on the right, I mounted a kerb and had a sidewall puncture on Day Two near Krka.

It was a National holiday too. But Avax has great emergency support. With 1.5 hours I was picked up and sent to Zadar where a replacement car (Suzuki Vitara) awaited me. 

I used the Vitara from Day Three to Five and returned it at Split airport. Again fuss-free.

Special thanks to two Avax staff:

1. Antonio - For being the first responder.  And getting on the phone and yelling at the road assistance truck to find me at the docks to Visovac Monastery.

2. Andro - What a man.  Got the Vitara in Zadar for me and helped to resolve everything within minutes when I had to transfer vehicle. Really important for me as I was travelling with a 2 year old toddler and it helped he understood how urgently we needed a replacement vehicle.

I had a great experience with Avax. If I could rate them 6 out of 5 I would. 

And yes - premium insurance meant I paid nothing for the punctured tire and all the other hassle such as a replacement and upgrade to a bigger vehicle.

Used Avax on the Island of Korcula, fast, friendly, efficient service by Pedro. Got a whatsapp message day prior to pick up to confirm everything was sorted. Good rate and vehicle.

Muy buen servicio, siempre atentos y amables. Compañía recomendable.

I am disappointed. I booked Kia sedan brand new car (with no option of similar) but they gave me a different car, not cleaned and full of smoke. The car was not safe as the tire threads were below legal limit (already rubbing the tire thread safety markings). When I complaint they didn't care much.

Could a local car rental be trusted or should you go for the international companies? Well, at least for Avax in Split it is a good option that offered a really low price and decent prince on insurance (this is something is tricky in Croatia - either they block over 1000 Euro on your account or you have to pay an expansive insurance).

No problem that their office is a little bit from the airport since you get a personal pick up directly outside arrivals and go with them in a car a few minutes to their office. You doesn't have to stay in line at some office and since Split airport is under reconstruction no rental company has their cars nearby anyway.

Friendly on-line customer Service & Support that answered questions is extra plus.

Very good value and helpful car rental company. We hired from Zadar town centre and dropped the car off at the airport without additional charges. The car, Suzuki Swift, was brand new and well equipped. It's size is perfect for exploring the area and easy to park - an important consideration in Zadar.
There was a slight delay in collecting the vehicle, but otherwise everything went smoothly. I would definitely use Avax again.

Everything was as described. Friendly, professional, helpful and efficient. Car be like new. Thank you for you assistance.

great service. i struggled to hire a car without a credit card but avax sorted it out for me. they delivered the car to the hotel for me. car was great. overall a very good company.

Alquilamos un coche durante 15 días con el seguro START.
Lo primero es que dejamos por escrito que llegaríamos a las 17 horas de la tarde, incluso pusimos numero de vuelo, y al llegar a Zagreb no había nadie de la compañía por allí, tuvimos que llamar para que fueran a buscarnos, sin embargo otras compañías como CAR WIZ si que fueron puntuales a recoger a sus clientes.
Nos entregaron un coche nuevo, NUEVO.
Durante 15 días no tuvimos ninguna problema ni inconveniente, todo fue OK.
Para entregar el coche 15 días después, tuvimos que volver a ponernos en contacto con un chico para devolver el coche, el dia de la recogida pedimos de tener el coche dos horas mas nada mas, y se nos dijo que había que pagar un dia mas, política intransigente, que no gusta, mas aun cuando hay tanta competencia, por dos horas, pagar un dia mas.
Finalmente entregamos el vehiculo en la hora acordada, nos recibió un chico, que tengo que señalar que fue SIEMPRE MUY AMABLE, PACIENTE Y COMPRENSIVO, ya que el coche tenia dos pequeños arañazos en el parachoques, minúsculos.
Este chico se pone en contacto con su jefe y que debido a que teníamos el seguro START debíamos pagar 200 euros por tan minúsculo defecto, nos negamos a pagar y bajó a 130 euros, y luego a 50, y LO MAS GRAVE, QUE SI NO PAGABAMOS LLAMARIAN A LA POLICIA, a lo que respondimos que la llamasen.
Finalmente nos dejaron marchar sin pagar y sin llamar a la policía, para dejar buena opinión de la empresa.
MI OPINION ES NEFASTA, POLITICA DE LA COMPAÑIA PESIMA, PESE AL EXCELENTE TRATO DEL CHICO QUE NOS RECOGIO EL COCHE EN DUBROVNIK, NOS SENTIMOS QUE QUISIERON ESTAFARNOS. NO RECOMENDARA ESTA COMPAÑIA NUNCA EN PROXIMOS VIAJES A CROACIA.

Having had issues with large firms before took a chance on Avax but was doubting good reviews. Chose them because competitive price included cross border and Croatian ferry insurance and no extra charge for Neum gap plus free extra driver for emergency. No deposit for online booking and paid cash at time of pick up. Was upgraded free of charge and had a nearly new Suzuki Vitara. Excellent service from friendly staff. Would have been five stars but for two small issues. 1 - screen wash was empty but purchased some from garage for a few Kunas. 2- drop off location was different to pick up and it would have been helpful if there was a Avax sign to indicate whereabouts of Avax office at Split airport or I had been given a map as location not on Satnav. ( Split airport is chaotic as it is a state of regeneration so everything is temporary)

AVAX office in Dubrovnik lapad is NOT in the location they gave me at reservation - Lea Travel does not know anything about avax.
At pickup morning person was 20 minutes late. He drove us to real office which is Suzuki seller 2km away from given address.
Time was 9:00 until we really got the car.
Car was brand new having some protective plastics on. But gas tank was totally empty, warning light was on. Also windshield washer tank was empty.
They told that We can return car with empty tank but how is that possible in real life, you can not take gas away - My first expression was that they cheat you with gasoline but I got full refund about gasoline - really great service.

AVAX toimisto Dubrovnikissa Labadin niemimaalla ei ole Lea Travelin osoitteessa, jonka he antoivat autoa varattaessa.
Kun kysyimme Lea Traelilta he eivät tienneet Avaxista mitään.
Soitto AVAXille ja selviää, että tuo on vain hakuosoite, josta vuokraaja haetaan oikealle toimistolle, joka on 2km päässä.
Hakuaika oli 8:00 ja henkilö tuli myöhässä 8:20. Auton saimme vasta 9:00.
Hän vei meidät toimistolle, joka on oikeasti Suzuki myyntiliike.
Auto oli aivan uusi - kehut siitä - jopa suojamuoveja oli paikallaan.
Mutta bensatankki oli tyhjä, samoin tuulilasin pesunestesäiliö.
Tankkasin 43 litraa, 60€ edestä ensimmäisellä kerralla.
Auton voisi kuulemma palauttaa myös tyhjällä tankilla, mutta kuinka se onnistuu käytännössä, he huijaavat bensiinillä.
Jouduin toisema päivänä tankkaamaan vielä lisää, koska auton ajotietokone näytti vähän mitä sattui, eikä siihen voinut luottaa.
En halunnut joutua tilanteeseen, että olen tankki tyhjänä oudossa paikassa ja huoltoasemat ovat kiinni.

Olimme sopineet palautuspäivän aamuksi menoja 8:30 ja tuo olisi helposti onnistunut, jos AVAX toimisto olisi sijainnut siellä osoitteessa, joka meille oli kerrottu lähellä hotellia. Nyt jouduimme palauttamaan auton jo edellisenä iltana koska muuten emme olisi sinne ehtineet tuolta kaukana sijaitsevalta oikealta toimistolta.
Palautettaessa tankissa oli yli puolet bensiiniä jäljellä, Mutta yllätyksekseni sain asiakaspalvelusta korvauksen tuosta, palvelu pelasi sen osalta todella hienosti.

Excellent service and a great vehicle. The Suzuki Vitara is a great car and eats up the miles whilst you ride/drive in comfort. This was the third hire that I have had with Avax (one from Zagreb and two from Zadar) and I will definitely be using them again and again...I can highly recommend this company, when you visit Croatia...5 x stars from me!

The car was what we wanted with the Green card included in the rental so we could travel around Croatia and Montenegro. The car was a bit dusty but I will say the dry weather will have somenthing to do with that. I will have given a 5 starts if they had come and pick us up from the airport as estated in the email they send to us. After wainting for a while there we decided to ring from our mobile and the gentleman said that we needed to find our way to them. It wasn't far but it will have save us time if we knew that before. I forgot to say I rented the car in Dubrovnik.
