Do not book with Azores Getaways
Do not book with Azores Getaways. It was by far, the worst travel experience I’ve ever encountered. The flights themselves were fine, as were the car rentals. The accommodations though? Absolutely beyond terrible. And no, I’m not a boujee traveller that needs 5 star blah blah, but I do expect a level of safety and that was not even remotely met, so much so that of the three places I was placed, I re-booked into alternate accommodations for two of those stays. When I emailed Azores getaways to address this issue, they advised that I had the option during booking to change my stays but that is untrue. They were no other options and it was a one stop package deal. Even if that was the case (which it was not), the idea that the onus is on the customer to ensure the accommodations are safe is absolutely terrible. If I wanted to do my own research, I would have booked everything on my own separately and not bothered with this company.
Azores islands themselves are absolutely amazing and fully recommend travelling there but skip this company and just book on your own. To be clear, Azores itself is very safe but the accommodations I was placed at were not in the slightest. (Think of human trafficking house? That’s basically where I was placed for my second stay)

Despite significant issues with the airline scheduling, the Azores Getaways Team were quick to provide alternative dates and the PERFECT alternate accommodations: Pico Refugio!! We are so grateful for their efforts and terrific, frequent communications. Thanks to them, this trip was even more fabulous than imagined.
