Beautiful wigs, made me feel like me again!
I’m so happy I found Baldylox boutique! Since my cancer diagnosis, bit by bit it took so much from me. My hair was the final part of me that it took. I felt like I had lost my identity and that I didn’t even look like myself anymore. My hair started to grow back but not fully and it continues to fall out, it no longer looked how I would have liked it to and I felt so uncomfortable and unhappy with it so I considered trying wigs but I didn’t know where to start as I didn’t know anyone else that wore wigs.
I tried so many different wigs from different companies and some pretty rubbish ones too. They were absolutely awful.
I couldn’t find the perfect one for me that would make me feel beautiful or like me again.
Also, not knowing anyone else that wore wigs, I watched videos online, I tried using glue and wig tape to secure my wigs down and ended up ripping the hair I did have on my head out trying to take my wig off- it really hurt!
I was honestly ready to give up and feel rubbish forever but then I found out about Steph and Baldylox boutique and that’s when everything changed!
I went to an in studio consultation and had the pleasure of meeting Steph in studio. It really was like stepping into luxury and it was so exciting. Everything about the experience felt amazing.
Steph is such a beautiful girl, she’s so warm and kind. We shared our hair journeys which was really nice. It felt good to talk to someone that really understands how much of an impact hair loss can have on your confidence. She is such a good role model as she shows that you are still you and you are still beautiful even with hair loss. She puts her heart into helping others to feel beautiful and like themselves again.
I felt like Steph also really took the time to listen to my individual needs and desires and we ended up customising my perfect wig together. This is such a good feature.
After getting my new hair, I finally feel like me again and I’m so happy, I’m embracing wearing wigs and looking forward to trying out some other styles in future!

Disappointed with the customer experience
I have thought long and hard about sharing my experience and decided I should.
I was disappointed with the customer experience start to finish there was a lack of contact before and after I placed my order. A wig is a sensitive and emotional purchase for a lot of people especially when it is needed as a result of medical conditions and treatment.
The product itself is sadly not good value for money and the quality isn't what I had hoped, the delivery and condition it arrived was also poor.

This unfortunately impacted our ability to respond as promptly and personally as we always strive to do. While this is not an excuse, it is something we’ve since resolved. I’m incredibly grateful we were able to connect with you through Instagram in the meantime, and I can now confirm that our email system is fully back up and running as normal.

In regards to the unit itself, I’m genuinely sorry to hear that it did not meet your expectations in terms of quality or presentation on arrival. Not surprised at your response
Hi Steph
I am not surprised at your response. After my first purchase, which was again over five months' wait, the colour of the wig was so off the originally agreed-upon that even having it sent back to you at my own expense when I received it was still not satisfactory.
You are aware that I have paid over £300 to achieve the colour that suits my skin tone. This has not only been a financial burden but also a source of stress, as I have had to use it on desperate occasions when I had no other options.
You then promised me a substantial discount on my next wig and assured me that this would not happen again. Hence, to my regret, I accepted the offer, and we are now in this situation.
You are good at taking orders and promising a great outcome. However, the ability to deliver the items within a reasonable period and in the agreed-upon colour is a quality you do not possess.
You did not keep me updated on my order, I was the one chasing you.
I ordered a wig online from the UK on Wednesday, at a third of the price compared to yours, and received it yesterday. It's beautiful, and the colour is exactly as advertised.
Best of luck; I hope I never have to use you again.

Both of your orders were bespoke units, created through a highly personalised process where collaboration is key—particularly when it comes to custom colour work, which is one of the most detailed and nuanced parts of our service.
For your first order, placed in May, the original colour reference you provided was later changed in June. As a result, the direction of the colouring work needed to shift mid-process, which understandably added time to the completion. I worked closely with you throughout that revision—sending updates and making careful adjustments to ensure the colour would flatter your skin tone and meet your expectations. Once the final colour was achieved, you confirmed that you were happy with it.
For your second order, a similar pattern unfolded. After placing the order, you requested to change the density. As before, I made those changes without hesitation, working to ensure you felt confident in the customisation. These mid-order adjustments naturally affected the timeline, and I did communicate this with you at the time before proceeding. Each change extended the production time, but I honoured them fully to ensure your satisfaction.
Throughout both processes, I have done my utmost to support you—not only with flexibility around your requests, but also with discounted pricing, payment plans, and even the offer of a full refund at various stages. My aim has always been to accommodate your needs and to deliver a final product that helps you feel confident and seen.
In response to your most recent comments, I want to address the second 1-star review that was posted following my previous reply to your first 1 star review. I completely respect every customer's right to express their experience. At the same time, I believe in fairness—especially when there has been considerable effort, care, and accommodation on my part to resolve your concerns and meet your evolving requests. I do not know where to start with this review. Before talk about the perfect hair, I feel I need to express how beautiful the owner of this business is and the care I have received as a customer.
Obviously the hair is what will bring you to this company, but writing this review I feel as if I could leave a review and forget to even mention the actual product.
Never in my life have I contacted ANY business and been moved to tears by a response. I am not an experienced wig wearer, and fighting hair loss recently I have taken the step to purchase my first wig from baldylox boutique. And let me just say, Stephanie has set the standard that I feel no one else will match. I needed to contact them with an enquiry, Stephanie’s reply was not only beautiful, informative but absolutely caring. She made me feel seen and understood but comforted which at this time in my life going through hair loss was absolutely needed. Pay for appointment to be able to purchase!
You have to pay to make an appointment. Can’t buy the product without paying for an appointment. My closet friend went into hospice and I was with her when she died that day, so I missed the appointment and now have to start the procedure again and wait for an appointment again.

SO natural! Incredible wig & service
I’m not sure words can express how impressed I am with my wig and how thankful I am to Steph.
Steph has been simply amazing from start to finish. I had a consultation with Steph at her lovely studio where she really took the time to talk things through with me and made me feel so heard. With her expert advice and experience, I felt in safe hands and we designed my perfect custom wig.
The wig itself is simply amazing and I have never seen anything like it. No matter how much I wear it, I still can’t get over the natural hairline and quality of the hair. When I first wore the wig, some of my friends didn’t recognise me at first! Those that know about my hair loss simply can’t get over the fact that it’s a wig, and those that don’t know simply don’t believe me if I decide to tell them it’s a wig! I get so many compliments on my “hair” now!
Steph really went the extra mile and beyond to get my wig to me and for that I can’t thank her enough. This wig has given me some of my life back and most importantly has given me hope for the future. I thoroughly recommend Baldy Lox Boutique and will definitely be buying another wig at some point!
