Barnwood Carpentry Ltd Reviews

Richard and Tabitha were friendly, helpful and professional in arranging for our existing front door to be adjusted and repaired. The carpenter, Alec, was a lovely guy and did a great job with a creative solution to an awkward problem.

They repaired a traditional timber casement window that needed careful, like-for-like work due to conservation restrictions. From the initial assessment through to the repair, everything was professional and straightforward. The carpenter who carried out the work was highly skilled, polite and considerate, and did an excellent job. The window is now as good as new, while retaining the original structure. Very pleased with the result and would happily use Barnwood again.

We desperately needed a bespoke internal sliding door and large heavy bin stores (housing for wheelie bins) fixed. Both jobs required skilled workers and Barnwood Carpentry were excellent. They diagnosed the issues quickly and correctly and provided excellent repair solutions which avoided remaking any parts. The workmen were on time, polite and professional. We are very happy to recommend Barnwood Carpentry.

This is the third time I've called upon Barnwood carpentry and will without a doubt be using them again in the future. On this occasion it was to remove a dated cupboard / storage unit from a bathroom and to build a bespoke cupboard in its place. The quality of work is amazing along with the friendliness and professionalism of the guys who carried out the work. I would highly recommend.

We've used Barnwood for various carpentry and joinery over the years, most recently to reengineer our kitchen larder units to accomodate a larger integrated fridge and freezer. Rarely easy jobs but we've always found them incredibly skilled, professional and cost competitive. The communication has been brilliant, right from the initial visit & quote, to the kick-off meeting and final sign-off of the project. Site always left clean & tidy and their work is of the highest standard. I'd highly recommend!

We are really pleased with the work Barnwood Carpentry did at our home. The wisteria pergola across the front of our house was falling apart. Richard assessed the work to be done and explained exactly how he would carry out the repair. He and Alec completed the work quickly and we are delighted with the result. We found the company very professional and easy to deal with.

The job was to repair a rotted pergola. Barnwood’s performance could not have been better. They responded promptly to our request and the work was completed in a highly professional and friendly manner. Richard and Tabitha make a fine team!

Barnwood worked with us from conception. Through project management fitting new kitchen. They were great at discussing options (our main issue was need to replace kitchen floor) with no pressure on final solutions. We decided on a complete refit. The team were great across overall project management, coordinating across different trades people and kitchen suppliers. Fitting of units required their carpentry expertise to deal with uneven walls. All were professional and respectful of our property. Their good work ethic values were evident and we definitely felt they put customer experience first. They were willing while on site to take on additional work (eg sticking doors).

Barnwood Carpentry were recommended to me by friends, and I’m really glad I used them. They showed up on time, did a great job, and completed everything in a timely manner. The quality of the work was excellent from start to finish. I would highly recommend them.

I was looking for someone who was willing to undertake a very very small job. I approached Barnwood Carpentry, really not expecting a response, due to it not bringing them in a big job. They replied straight away, suggested an alternative option to my request, which would make it cheaper for me and made more sense. They were so happy to help me solve my problem, and not interested in trying to get as much money out of me as they could. I will forever be grateful for how kind they were and how professional they were, even though it was such a small job. I would absolutely recommend this company, a delight to do business with. Thank you Barnwood and all those I dealt with, within the company.

We are so pleased with the work Barnwood Carpentry have recently done for us in one of our upstairs rooms. The built in bookcase is a work of art and the cupboard doors have really smartened the room up. The team are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I would not hesitate to recommend Barnwood. A very slick operation.

Barnwood are careful, creative, clever carpenters. They keep you informed all the way through a job, arriving when they say they will, and doing an amazing job to the highest standard. I'm really pleased with the work.

Excellent and very efficient work on a small but awkward job in dismantling a bespoke wood bookcase - completed to great satisfaction and much quicker than expected!

Great communication and service throughout, highly recommended.

Great communication from beginning to end, well priced, high quality workmanship and all staff were very experienced, friendly and checked that I was happy with different aspects of the size, position etc before they went ahead. They have done a fantastic job of creating a beautiful pergola over our patio area. A great addition to our garden.
I would highly recommend this company to do any type of carpentry you may need, you will not be disappointed.

Very happy with the work carried out by the team. I was very reassured throughout the process by their thoughtful approach to what was a fairly complex problem to rectify. Everything was done to a high standard of workmanship and within the estimated amount. Will be recommending Barnwood to others, and be reaching out to them again in future.

We asked Barnwood Carpentry to create an outdoor office for us by subdividing an existing timber framed barn into an office and general storage area. They took the office from a bare shell into a fabulous office space by insulating, lining the walls, adding new doors and providing all the electrics including underfloor heating. Richard, Tabitha and the team were fantastic from the word go, communicating regularly to keep us up to date at every stage of the process. The workmanship was fantastic, the whole team extremely professional and pleasant to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We highly recommend Barnwood Carpentry.

We are so glad we chose Barnwood to build our new pergola. We wanted something quite bespoke for our period property and knew we needed a genuine specialist to make it happen. Right from the first contact about our ideas, during all our conversations about the design, and throughout the construction process, Richard, Tabitha, and the whole team were unfailingly helpful and utterly professional. They were excellent. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of the build, the speed and efficiency with which they worked, and their tremendous skill. We love the result and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.

Tabitha and Richard have been fantastic to work with and would highly recommend.

We asked Barnwood Carpentry to build an outdoor classroom for our nursery. We had a great experience. The whole team were very professional, the quote provided was accurate and all the work carried out was on time and of at a high quality. We would not hesitate to us them again!
