Great from start to finish!

I had an excellent experience with BodySpec. The technician was motivating, friendly, and made the scan process easy and comfortable. The interactive report was clear, detailed, and easy to understand. I love the AI voice consultant! I called their support team with a few additional questions, and they were extremely knowledgeable. Extremely Disappointing Experience

I had a DEXA scan scheduled for yesterday and live about an hour away from the location. Less than an hour before my appointment, I received a text from Marcelle notifying me that it was cancelled due to the machine being inoperable. I attempted to contact customer service multiple times and couldn’t reach anyone. Over several days, every call went straight to voicemail, and I never received a single call back. I also emailed and never received a response.

I ultimately had to file a credit card dispute to recover my payment — which I won.

Between the equipment malfunction, the complete lack of accessible customer service, and the last‑minute cancellation after I had already taken time off and begun driving, I’m left with serious concerns about how this company operates. I wasted time, gas, and effort for nothing.

Don't do the mobile van scan

I had a disappointing experience with BodySpec during my recent DEXA scan appointment.
My appointment was scheduled for 1:58 PM, and I arrived at 1:55 PM. I waited outside the van, and when no one came out at the appointment time, I lightly knocked on the door. The employee opened it and immediately seemed frustrated, telling me there was no need to knock and that the door would open at the appointment time.
I explained that there was no sign, window, camera, or other clear indication that anyone inside knew I was waiting, especially since I was standing outside in the heat. A light knock felt like a reasonable way to check in.
The scan itself was very brief, but throughout the appointment and while explaining the next steps for receiving my report, the employee was texting on his phone. That made the interaction feel rushed and unprofessional. As I was leaving, I also noticed an older man arrive early for his appointment, and the employee did not seem to respond to him with the same frustration.
Given that the scan only takes a few minutes, I expected the process to be smooth, simple, and professional. Instead, the experience felt unnecessarily uncomfortable over something as minor as knocking on the door.

I purchased a Bodyspec Dexascan

I purchased a Bodyspec Dexascan, and they canceled my scan. I rescheduled, and twenty minutes before my second scan, they canceled again! When I asked for a refund, they refused. Since this was outside of the window for a credit card dispute, there was nothing I could do. BEWARE!

I was blind before Bodyspec

I've been here a handful of times, and I seriously can't believe how blind I was about my body composition before. Since I started scanning back in Oct. 2025, I've lost 2% bodyfat (this is huge for me), decreased my visceral fat, and overall have just been able to finally understand my body enough to change my habits. New tool unlocked!!

They are crooks

They are crooks. I went in for a body scan, one body scan. They signed me up for a "membership" and started charging my credit card quarterly without my knowledge. They claim that I "signed up at checkout". There was nothing mentioned at checkout, no paperwork, no discussion. Obviously someone needs to file a DTPA lawsuit and close them down.

The scan is good but they SCAM YOU by making it a subscription model even though you have not agreed to that. I purchased two credits just two be forced into purchased two credits more 3 months later. So now I have 3 credits as if I am this professional athlete that just can't wait to weight myself non stop at 40$ a pop! Happy to do it 2 times a year and pay for it not a subscription model!!!!!

Unethical use of health information

In their marketing materials, they do not disclose that the auto-generated scan report will rank your body scan data alongside those of other clients. I was expecting to see my own health information, but instead received that, along with a bell curve showing my results compared to everyone in a mandatorily selected peer group. There was no toggle to turn off the rankings. I was stunned at how unethical and harmful their default report setting was for customers.

When one gets a medical test at a doctor's office, one isn't forced to see how one's results compare to everyone else who attends that clinic. That kind of information is irrelevant to an individual's own health.

I wanted a tool for my own health measurements over time, but this kind of data use was not requested and is harmful.

After sending this complaint to their customer service, I was denied a refund of my remaining credit.

I can’t reschedule an appointment because the phone number goes to voicemail and both the voicemail and emails are unanswered for weeks.

Edit: after posting this review, a member of their support team replied to my email and credited my account and apologized for the delay.

Their customer service is unresponsive

Their customer service is unresponsive. I had to reschedule my appointment, and it has been next to impossible to do it. It is as if they are intentionally avoiding - they don't respond to emails and don't answer phone calls.

I haven't even had my first scan and…

I haven't even had my first scan and I'm so done with this company. The customer service is super frustrating. The line is always echoing and scratchy so it's very hard to understand them. My SIL transferred me credit for a scan and set up my appointment, she spelled my name no less than 3 times and it was still put in incorrectly so I wasn't receiving any communication from them. When I finally called, figured out it was a spelling error I needed to change the appointment. They got the appointment cancelled and I received an email saying I had credit on my account and could use it toward a different booking, with a link to make that booking. I followed and tried to make a new appointment and no credit existed... Called again and she said it's because my name is spelled incorrectly!!!!! Now I have two accounts, one misspelled and one correct and they are supposed to be merged.
I'm so done with this company.

The only health data I actually trust — BodySpec changed how I train, eat, and make decisions

If you care about making real progress instead of guessing, BodySpec is the single most valuable $40–$50 you can spend. I’ve used their scans for everything—first, getting a wake-up call about my visceral (hidden) belly fat levels. But later, tracking fat loss that doesn’t show up on a scale and muscle mass changes in response to nutrition and supplement changes.

The data is objective, repeatable, and brutally honest. BodySpec allows you to see how you stack up, region by region, to people your age and sex across their millions of scans.

For me, the biggest unlock has been eliminating guesswork: I can tell whether a change is actually building lean mass or just making me feel “stronger.”

Longevity markers: Visceral fat trends matter more than most people realize, and BodySpec let me track mine with precision.

Accountability: When the data shows a change, I can tie it back to specific behaviors instead of relying on vibes.

The scan itself was fine but their business practies are fradudelnt

The scan itself was fine: no complaints.
I had it done on 11/08/2024 and their charge of $49.95 went through on my credit card on 11/09/2024. They tried to sign me up for a quarterly scan but I declined; I signed up for only one scan.

Yet today, 02/08/2025, I am seeing another charge for $49.95 pending on my credit card. I called them, and even before I finished my sentence, the guy on the phone knew exactly what was going on and he said he would reverse the charge. If they don't I will file fraud claim with my credit card company, with whom I have already spoken.

Bottom line, BodySpec deliberately engages in the fraudulent practice of signing clients for a service they had not approved, then charging clients' credit cards, in the hope that clients would not notice. BodySpec is trying to pull a fast one on people who are too busy with their lives to notice.

Although the service itself was OK, due to this lack of integrity, I will never use them again.
