Very disappointing experience with Books4People.

I placed a £50 order on 12 September and, 20 days later, I still haven't received it. The first delivery attempt failed, and after several days without hearing anything, I had to contact customer service myself.

Unfortunately, their customer service has been extremely unhelpful. Their replies were very short and didn't actually offer a solution. I ended up having to suggest possible options myself and ask them to confirm whether they could do them. It felt like I was being treated as though it was my responsibility to solve the problem.

A second delivery attempt also failed, apparently because of an issue with the address provided to Royal Mail. The address is completely correct. This is the same address I've successfully used for previous Books4People orders, and Royal Mail has delivered here countless times without any problem.

If there is an issue between Books4People's system and Royal Mail, that's for Books4People to resolve with their delivery provider. It isn't the customer's responsibility.

I eventually asked them to stop the email ping-pong and actually fix the problem. Since then, I haven't received a reply for a week.

I have paid £50, received nothing, and there is no obvious web-based option to request a refund for an undelivered order. At this point, the complete lack of communication and willingness to resolve the issue makes it feel like they have simply taken my £50 and left me to deal with it.

Very poor customer service. Delivery problems can happen, but the way a company handles them is what matters — and Books4People have completely failed in that respect.

So easy to order very pleasant response and I received them a few days later everything when smoothly

Really delighted on the efficient service i have recieved. From placing and paying for my beautiful book to the very swift delivery service from Royal Mail. I was unsure about ordering on line and so pleased that I did. Will recommend Books4people and will be using them in future.

Sent me the wrong books. Contacted them and they then sent out the correct ones. Sent me an email asking me to send back the wrong ones. The email gave a link to generate a return label. The link doesn't work. Contacted Books 4 People to send me a label. No answer.... Now have a pile of unwanted books.

I bought a box set for my daughter but found out she already had the books. Books4people cancelled the order and refunded me immediately. Customer service and communication are top notch.

Ordered a book to help with new Mac computer, a hour later wife turned with with a similar book. Asked if I could cancel with book4 people, book had been packed ready to send but they still cancelled and refunded. Excellent customer service, excellent company. Thanks

Books4people offered exceptional service throughout my experience with them. I initially asked for them to cancel an order, which they did despite it already being in progress, then sent the refund promptly. When I then reordered the item and accidentally selected a slower postage, they went above and beyond to ensure my purchase was sent first-class. Communications throughout were not only highly effective, but also genuine and pleasant.

Quick service, books packaged well and arrived in good condition-not damaged in transport :)

Terrible experience. I ordered a hardcover book and it came with a tear in the spine, red splotch on pages and dented corners. Just packaged straight in thin box. Got offered a replacement and thought it was all going to be okay. The replacement arrived and the box was torn completely in two bottom corners. Corners of books bent, more red splotches bleeding onto pages and only offered £5 refund. The spine was all bent at top and bottom, the cardboard coming through from small tears. Do not order any hardcover books from here. Very disappointed as there was more books I wanted to buy from this site, but will no longer be doing. What’s the point of sending replacement if they’re also damaged. I tried to raise issues of the red splotches on a supposedly new book and just given a basic thanks for understanding here’s £5 email.

Ordered twice from this company. Great quality books. Extremely happy.

The website is good, prices are good too and they offer free shipping when you spend £35. They also dispatched and shipped quickly.

Unfortunately, the packing was subpar. They added extra paper to pad the top of the box and not the bottom, which meant that some of my book sleeves came significantly damaged, despite being brand new. Plastic had been ripped.

If I could leave less than one starts I would. Bought a set of books for £70, the pages are upside down???? What. And I was only offered a £5 refund after contacting them. That’s ridiculous I’ve never even heard of an upside down book before in my life. Don’t buy from these con artists. They probably are sitting laughing as they flip the pages upside down, sick jokesters

Ordered a set of books through Rackhams, fulfilled by books4people and delivered by Amazon. Lots of opportunity to mess things up, so amazed when they came on time, in brand new condition at a price better than I could buy them second hand. Very pleased and highly recommended.

🔥🔥🔥NEVER EVER AGAIN 🔥🔥🔥THIS LOT TAKE ABSOLUTELY AGES TO POST OUT A BOOK I ORDERED ON TUESDAY WEDNESDAY LAST WEEK AND I ONLY HOT A MESSAGE TODAY SAYING ITS ON ITS WAY BUT I CANNOT TRACK IT AND ITS NOT EVEN AT THE OUT FOR DELIVERY PART YET SO WHERE THIS ITEM IS I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE BUT I DO KNOW ITS GOING TO END UP BEING AT LEAST A WEEK BUT HEAD MORE TO THE 10/15 DAYS MARK . Shocking and not acceptable for me that is and I don’t think I’m being unreasonable so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😱🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥NEVER AGAIN

I have ordered many a time for my children and sets of books in particular..they are always really good value.

My books were delivered on 11/4/26 by Amazon.
The driver waited until I got to the door and he handed me the parcel which was open. Some of the books were loose in the box . The driver asked me to check my order after doing this I found a book was missing from the order. I emailed books 4 people and they sent the missing book. I received it 15/4/26. Good service
