What I didn't like was when I put my bid in with 8 seconds to spare then the clock jumped back to 2 minutes 30 seconds a few times allowing the bidding to continue

Bpi, as it was an outside closing auction and sellers didn't contact me back to collect it was canceled and bpi returned monies + being helpful.

I had a fantastic experience with BPI Auctions. The entire process was smooth, professional, and far less stressful than I expected. I purchased a Lincat Panther hot holding bin via this auction platform. The listing identified the item as a hot holding unit; however, when it was delivered, it transpired that the unit had been stripped of its control panel and internal PCB, rendering it completely non-functional.
While the exterior resembled the photographed item, the absence of the control system means this was effectively a stainless steel cabinet rather than a usable hot holding unit. Repair is uneconomical, leaving me nearly £600 out of pocket.
I raised this issue twice, explaining that the item delivered did not reflect a functional hot holding bin. Each time, the response relied solely on “sold as seen” terms, with no consideration of whether the listing accurately represented the usable configuration of the equipment.
This was a delivered item, meaning I relied entirely on the listing and photographs. In my view, there was no meaningful due diligence to identify that essential components were missing.
If you are considering buying catering equipment here, inspect in person or expect to take full risk, regardless of how the item is described. I will not use this platform again.
