Do not buy from this place there advertising is false they should say if things don’t work bought a microwave and when it came it didn’t work tried to get in touch and they give me all the shit that you should have gone to view it more like they should put it on the advert that it doesn’t work

May was extremely helpful and sorted out a little problem very quickly.
The customer service was first class.
The delivery service was quick and efficient.

Its one thing to say that the piece of furniture I bought is from a known Italian design house and for photos to include the "True" logo. It's another for the item to actually arrive in its "Made in Italy" box which then contains the actual box written in Mandarin. There's buyer beware for something bought online and there's also the conveniently ommited from photos actual manufacturers box.

I bought a lot of things from them, most of them were broken, damaged, or had parts missing. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy anything from them; it's just a waste of money and time. Especially since they themselves sometimes ask for higher prices. Please be careful and never buy from them.

Be careful. These items may not work. It’s on you to ensure they do before you buy. I found out the hard way. A one and only purchase.

I have purchased a number of items from this company, some have been OK, but some have been awful.
My last experience was suppose to be a King Size mattress, when it arrived it turned out to be a standard double size. I pointed this out to the company, and they took over a month to collect the mattress, before they reimbused me my money.
I also had a tumble dryer delivered which was full of water, and damaged the printed circuit board.
The company say that they test everything electrical before sending it out, I purchased a 32 inch Toshiba TV which was D.O.A, and the would not reimbuse me for it.

Bought Pokémon boxes. They were all fake. One box had been opened and cards removed them taped back together. Some one stole fake cards from a box. Well done. Ripped a couple of cards just to make sure and yes, they are fake. John Pye selling counterfeit items. Not good. 4th of October. Lot 16. Email to confirm. Google image also states fake. I should have checked that. Or maybe John Pye should have before listing fake goods.

Totally rip off , bought 4 item pokemon cards games , and got them today , every box open or damage, never said anything about damages in the add , paid £56 and got taxed £43 , scammed, email them only to be told this happened win some lose some , more like u always lose , pity that l can’t load pictures then people would see what a rip off this is ,

He adquirido productos en tres ocasiones, las dos primeras bien, pero la tercera me mandan un producto erroneo me dan como opcion devolverlo en zaragoza ( unos 700 km de donde resido), y al comentarles que emitan una etiqueta para devolver el producto me ofrecen un 33% de descuento, el cual rechazo pq el ptoducto que me envian es muy inferior al comprado y aun con ese descuento lo pagaria a precio de mercado, al negarme a ese acuerdo dejan de contactar comigo y lo he tenido q arreglar con mi entidad bancaria. Un desastre de empresa.

Used the systems 'search' function to find a specific item i was looking for, this 'search' function brings up a full page of individual items across all of the sites auction pages,(very useful to avoid having to go through each individual auction page) when you select the item you want to bid on it takes you directly to that item and bypasses the main auction front page - this front page is key as thats where the details are provided to tell you if the items are new / used / faulty / second hand etc (Wasnt aware of this until now) - i bid on a shark hoover after viewing the 4 pictures provided showing inside the box and the hoover still within its main packaging (assume its new) however when this turns up, the hoover is within packaging (that has been opened) and the hoover collection bin is full of dirt, the head is filthy, paint marks all along the side of the roller head and to top it all off, the roller head / lights dont actually work - contacted customer services and they have said i cant return or have a refund as i had an option to view the items in person and the main auction page states this is second hand / faulty / returned items i am bidding on - however this is invisible if you use the search button to find the item you are looking for - £42 bid on the hoover and with charges etc on top it came to £72.59 - initial estimate to have the hoover repaired and cleaned is £125 meaning i could have bought a brand new one cheaper - lesson learned, i will not be using this site again

Excellent experience after having a nightmare. An item wasn’t packaged in my delivery, very disappointing. I had a response by email within a few hours with a link to file it correctly with the correct branch. This was all very easy and fast. Bob in Nottingham went above and beyond, helped and found the missing item and dispatched straight away. Very impressed at how quickly this was resolved thanks again Bob.

⚠️ My experience with John Pye Auctions – please be cautious

I would urge anyone considering buying from John Pye Auctions to do their own checks and carefully consider the risks before purchasing.

In my case, I purchased an item which was not described as faulty in the listing and which, when I viewed it before purchase, was not faulty. After purchasing it, I discovered that it was faulty.

I contacted John Pye to raise a complaint and tried to resolve the matter directly with them. I was unable to get the resolution I was seeking, so I subsequently raised a Section 75 claim with my credit card provider.

Following this, I received notification that my account had been banned from bidding and purchasing with John Pye.

These are the facts of my experience, and I have correspondence and documentation relating to the matter.

I am sharing this so that potential customers can make an informed decision. Based on my own experience, I would personally be very cautious about purchasing from John Pye Auctions.

Please do your own research, read the terms and conditions carefully, inspect items thoroughly where possible, and keep records of listings, photographs and correspondence.

This review reflects my personal experience and is intended to help other consumers make an informed choice.

Thank you for your response. I am aware that you describe certain sales as “sold as seen”. However, I do not believe that simply using the phrase “sold as seen” automatically resolves the consumer rights issues arising from an item being faulty and the circumstances in which that fault was or was not disclosed.

My review was primarily about the way my complaint was handled and the subsequent banning of my account. Your response does not address those points.

I would also point out that I did not raise the issue of viewing in my original review. It is therefore disappointing that your response focuses on this rather than addressing the actual complaint.

NEVER PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. I am a first time buyer and won a bid for an electrical item. Never mentioned that it was faulty, described as working but said viewing was advised. It came, and did NOT work after paying £137 with their silly VAT. They admitted they do not test items before listing, so thats a fire hazard. They said I had no rights for refund. AVOID.

I have by now made several purchases from John Pye Auctions. Some I have been happy with, others, unfortunately, not so.
In the recent past, I purchased several kitchen for my granddaughter, a student, moving into her own flat for the first time.
I successfully bid for several lots which were shown in photographs to be the real item, in the original boxes. This gave the impression that the items were all new and that box actually contained what was shown.
Not so. Many of these were wrong items (eg. a box purporting to hold a toaster contained a different appliance altogether.
There was one box which was a new electric kettle, had no charging base, cable or socket. There were several of the items which were dirty and not new whereas, I anticipated them all to be new.
In my own instance, I purchased a "new" soup making machine which was boxed. When it arrived, the plus and electric lead were missing. Again, rather than being new, this appears to have been a used item.
My frustration is that all these products appeared to be new. There was nothing in the product description from John Pye to indicate whether the product was new or otherwise.
In addition to the foregoing, by the time auction fees, vat and high priced delivery were included, it would have been cheaper to purchase products which were guaranteed to be new and complete from Amazon; eBay etc.
The most recent fiasco (on which John Pye Auctions are being annoyingly slow to address) is that on Sunday if this week, I received a 24.5 x 27 cm cube of cushion foam which was tightly bound inside a blue plastic bag which in turn was secured all around with white table bearing the words Fragile in red letters.
This item should actually have been a 200 x 290 cm roll of carpet. Not an easy mistake to make.
Once they have this most recent faux pas resolved, it will be a less than fond Cheerio to John Pye Auctions rip off.

Love the idea, I'm on their website every day looking for something I might like. Literally obsessed. Bought multiple times and never had an issue except for one DPD driver which has nothing to do with John Pye, however they have resolved the issue and provided with all the support needed. I felt that I was in good hands, every single email was handled with a lot of attention by Bob from customer service. Thanks to him I can carry on placing orders with confidence that I will receive support if needed.

It’s a total scam! They advertise the item as being in perfect condition—"like new"—but when you receive it, it’s completely damaged or burnt out. I bought a monitor that only worked for two minutes before the image cut out...

I bought a microwave, and it arrived completely broken and in pieces, even though the website photos showed it in perfect condition and claimed it was new!

Customer service non-existent

Refund process is good.

I purchased a Nkuku oni printers drawer which features hand soldered glass. On receipt there was a small pane cracked and I reached out to customer service by email.
Marcus responded rapidly advising he would look into the issue. Within 24 hours he emailed again offering a courier pick up return and full refund. In the interim I had sourced a repair option as I love the item and they are hard to source at a discount. I suggested a partial refund in the form of a credit note, Marcus explained John Pye don’t offer this and offered a cash refund of 15% of my total costs.
I decided to accept this,
My experience in contacting John Pye has been that it is an efficiently run operation with courteous, conscientious staff, Marcus was professional and warm. In all, a positive experience-I only knocked one star off as the repair will cost £30-£40 so less than the refund, but that is my choice to accept or return the item at no cost.
