Recent switch to Bright HR
We recently made the switch to Bright HR from another payroll provider, and overall the experience has been excellent. Like any transition, there were a few teething issues at the start, but these were quickly resolved thanks to Carl Smith.
Carl has been absolutely fantastic throughout the process. He is incredibly friendly, approachable, and always willing to help—nothing ever feels like too much trouble. He explains things clearly and patiently, which has made a huge difference for me as someone with no prior payroll experience.
Thanks to his support, We now feel confident processing our payroll in a straightforward and efficient way. It’s also very reassuring to know that Carl is always at the end of the phone if we need assistance—and he even manages to bring a bit of humour to the process, which makes a big difference!
Overall, a great service and a smooth transition, made even better by Carl’s outstanding support.

From start to finish the whole process has been has been seamless, from the intial sales calls with David through to the onboarding with Christiana, Olivia and Garry. ONGOING HMRC PAYROL ISSUE.

I am very disappointed with the service provided by BrightHR’s payroll software.
I raised an HMRC-related issue on 1 April 2026, and it has still not been properly investigated or resolved. Despite multiple calls and emails, I am repeatedly told that it is a “complex payroll issue” under investigation, yet no clear explanation or progress report has been provided.
In the meantime, I have received a warning from HMRC, which I have already escalated to BrightHR management. Unfortunately, the response has been limited to empty promises, with no meaningful action taken.
I only signed up for their payroll service in January 2026, and it appears the system was not set up correctly from the start. Since raising this issue, communication has been poor—emails are often ignored for days, and when I call, I am told that managers are unavailable or “busy.”
Although a manager became involved after my complaints, the level of service has not improved. It feels as though customer support significantly declined after payment was made.
This experience has been frustrating and has seriously impacted my confidence in BrightHR’s services.
I would appreciate a prompt response, a clear explanation of the issue, and an urgent resolution.
