To be honest even this one star is far more than I’d like to rate this ‘company’.

What a joke they are. Taking people’s money and deliver the worst service known to mankind.

We ordered our 50 eggs on 28th April 2025. The envelope that we received in the post today (23rd July) states ‘post by 27/05/2025…. I know Royal Mail aren’t great but it doesn’t take two months to deliver a ‘tracked 24’ item.

I’d be incredibly surprised if any of our eggs hatch but I know that by receiving any at all we are incredibly lucky.

Please do not buy from here. You will be left disappointed.

I wish I had read everyone's review:( I found the website reddit because I was looking to buy a Chinese luna moth and a couple people recommended the site.. it's been 6 months and I haven't received anything.. now ik why:( DO NOT BUY I got scammed out $60

It's been a pretty shocking experience if I'm honest. I made the order knowing that the website said they would wait until everything I ordered was ready (Made the order Feb, it's now July) and they will send it all at once. Months after I made the order, they sent only 1/4 items from my order and none of the 10 eggs have hatched. I have emailed a few times as well but have had no response (emailed in May)

Cheaters! They take money and then write automatic emails, there is not one order being delivered and I have waited since last year. They are sending out newsletters with on stock items, but they never deliver. If you write them to ask for your order, you only get automated emails back for almost one year now.

Shame I can't give zero stars. I ordered in October 2024, 4 pupaes and never seen them. Not existing customer service, don't buy from there. It's a scam.

This company need reporting! Out of 10 we received 9 dead caterpillars. The only surviver died within an hour!
What a shit way to go, turned to mush in a little dish in transit for over a week! Vile company. Please dont make the same mistake we did our children were mortified when we opened the parcel

Was known as Stuart's butterflies - recently changed its name to Bugs and Butterflies. Placed an order last year, he fobbed me with excuses. Still nothing a year later. Either incompetent or a scammer. Just realized he has lots of bad reviews. Buy from more reputable companies.
Edited in August: Received an email saying thatvto apologise for the year delay, they were giving me credit to place an order for free. Placed the order in mid-July, still nothing. I will cancel this review if I get my order. What a palaver.
September 2025: After more than a year I received the butterfly eggs, whether they will hatch in autumn I have no idea. I really don't trust this company - too disorganised really.

Got a dispatch email, then a month with no tracking updates, emailed multiple times with no responce, then royal mail finaly updated to say they had recieved it from the company, eventualy got a pot of dead catapilars... they have 0 customer service, not worth the risk, cos good luck getting a refund or any help

These people are truly the worst.
Spent three months during most of the summer waiting. Sending countless emails without response. I will never buy for them again.
Please avoid at all costs

Took my money for butterflies a couple of years ago. Never arrived. Kept fobbing me off that they were coming. Never arrived. Stopped replying to messages. Thieves.

Glad to see Amelia received her purchase. Must be the exception to the norm.
We ordered on 22nd June and nothing since the email saying items had been despatched. Royal Mail have no record of dispatch. No reply to any emails sent to this company.

they are legit, ignore the reviews that claim they're a scam. ordered 2 species of moth eggs and decided the next day to check trust pilot reviews, felt so stupid after seeing 1.5 star average and everyone warning that it's a scam. so expectations were at zero but you were all SO wrong. the first set of eggs arrived safely, they hatched after a week and they're perfect condition. the company also emailed me to let me know that there was a problem with the breeding of the second species I ordered, and offered me a full refund OR a different species that was extremely similar to the original, so communication with customers is good, and they are legit. the new species has just been shipped and on the way, the people complaining they had to wait a year clearly don't understand seasonal breeding, different species are available at different times of the year and if you're not taking the time to research about that before buying, don't blame the seller.

I placed an order on 1st June for butterfly eggs (Order #2167). Over a month later, I’ve received nothing. I’ve sent several messages via their contact form and email — the only replies I’ve had are automated. No human response, no update, no product, and no refund.

Their stock emails keep promoting new products as “available immediately,” but my order seems to have been ignored. There’s no evidence anyone is actually handling orders or support. At this point, I feel the company is either overwhelmed or not operating transparently.

Be cautious — based on my experience, you may pay and get nothing in return.

Had a royal mail tracker email, but it just said they were waiting for it from the supplier. I emailed for clarification and no answer. Then my pupae arrived today - two had already emerged and were dead. I'd ordered 5 in total and only got 4. One emerged and seems happy and one is emerging right now. I paid £25. Have emailed again, but no response.

I have ordered previously and it has been fine but ordered newts this year and even got a tracking number but the tracking just says they’re still waiting for them to be posted and they obviously haven’t arrived. It’s been months and despite lots of emails no reply. Have finally got a refund through my bank.

Like all the other reviews I am reading I also had the same experience. I ordered the eggs in February, paid £26.52 which included expensive delivery. Ordered has never materialised I’ve sent several emails and no replies. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. Don’t make the same mistake I did!

Ordered last year August 2024 they never sent it out, they said they would send out double the order for the inconvenience this season but when you email, you get no response. Don’t waste your money! As your order will never arrive! By the looks of it, it has happened a lot!

This outfit is outrageous; DO NOT TRUST THEM with your money. I ordered pupa weeks ago that have never arrived and they ignore my messages. I also ordered eggs that did arrive but were infertile. They do not communicate, they do not offer a service of any value. They owe me approximately £70 and nobody ever responds. Utterly disgraceful - NEVER AGAIN!

Bought catapillars which did arrive but didn't get my newts I ordered and no reply when emailed would not recommend

Last year made an order never arrived refund EVENTUALLY processed. This year thought would give them another chance wish I had not. Tracking numbers not correct no response to emails. Evenyually something eventually arrived in post looked like eggs but followed instructions to hatch to the T and nothing emerged. think eggs may have already been non viable. NO MORE CHANCES with this company they are hopeless.
