I checked my credit report with Equifax and Experian which has my data correct, and as I want a loan via MBNA I want my details correct.
However there were anomalies flagged by TransUnion, the flagged item stated was that I am not on the Electoral Register which is incorrect as I have been living at my address for over 20 years and I vote so how has TransUnion got this wrong? I then applied for an online credit report which was declined as they couldn't verify who I am. I saw that I could complete their application to get a paper copy of my report but maybe declined. I find this odd and will be complaining to the Financial Ombudsman regarding this so called credit bureau.

No matter how many times I tell them that I registered on the Electoral Roll three and a half years ago when I moved to this address and have voted at every opportunity, they insist on telling my bank THAT I DID NOT!

If there was a minus I would use it! This dreadful organisation is aware that I am a victim of fraud when a loan was taken in my name. They have evidence in a letter yet fail to respond to me pleading to get the issue removed from my credit score!! How can they be allowed to operate and manage such critical information that impacts lives ?? It’s disgusting

My credit history is perfect, never missed a payment for anything, or had anything mildly iffy related to me.
All of a sudden my credit score is down for “no record of payment on at least one account”.
Checking my full account with TU and my bank, EVERYTHING is up to date. Really peeved because we’re currently under offer and hoping to put in an offer in on another property soon. This is stress that we don’t need!
Perhaps they may be lying about the drop in score, lots of searches on account recently etc but unacceptable either way!

absolutely dreadful company - pay pal seriously need to DUMP this company - I've a credit record to die for - all 3 others I use I'm like 1000/1000 - 697/710 etc and these turned me down for pay in 3 for 600 quid

this credit report agency is the worst it stops people getting credit stops good people getting credit they say they do there best but it is about time it he banks and credit agencies stop using it as it’s not worth it’s ink pathetic disgusting 🤢 company

Incorrect address information caused decline of credit card. Allegedly wrong information supplied by County Council Electoral Role and MBNA. Both Experian and Equifax have correct data. MBNA confirm they have only supplied correct data. County council electoral role was correctly supplied by me of course. Appears to be a farm address located at centre of a rural postcode over 1/3 mile away. The Farm is top alphabetically on the address list by postcode on Post Office post code search tool. Hats off for the diligence of their credit checks.

TransUnion UK: A Complete Disgrace to the Credit Industry

If there were an award for the most incompetent, dysfunctional, and utterly useless credit agency in the UK, TransUnion would win it hands down. This company is an absolute joke—how they are even allowed to handle people’s financial data is beyond comprehension.

Their website is a disaster—slow, confusing, and barely functional. Trying to access or correct your credit information feels like an impossible task, with their so-called “customer support” being about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. Their reporting system is riddled with errors, outdated information, and inexplicable inconsistencies that they seem completely incapable—or unwilling—to fix.

And don’t even get started on their lack of accountability. If you have an issue with your credit report, prepare for a soul-crushing journey of endless emails, robotic responses, and zero actual assistance. It’s as if they are deliberately trying to make the process as frustrating as possible, hoping people will just give up.

Frankly, TransUnion shouldn’t be trusted with a child’s piggy bank, let alone the financial data of millions of people. The fact that they play a role in determining people’s creditworthiness is nothing short of terrifying. If the UK government had any sense, they would shut this company down immediately and launch a full-scale investigation into its operations.

Avoid them at all costs—this is one of the most incompetent, irresponsible, and downright useless companies ever to exist in the financial sector. Even 1 star is too much!

E mailed these twice, no reply, if you try to fill in online form it says your details are incorrect, I think I know my own name etc, if you live chat they tell you to call if you call they tell you to e mail if you e mail they don't answer!

Such an incompetent company ask for proof that l was registered on the voters role which l sent then say they can’t accept it, it really is a joke of a company when all the other credit reference agency’s have me on the the voters role on there site,
Don’t use stick with others

I was trying to make a switch of my energy suppliers when the new company emailed to say that because of TransUnion credit check they cannot make the switch. I then called TransUnion and did a credit check to find out they hold very little and inadequate information on me on their files. I am perplexed as to how a credit checking company is allowed to operate like this.
I've held an Excellent credit rating for 20 years without a single missed payment. All repayments set up on direct debit paid in full every month and zero gaps in paid employment.
The other reviews here are a testament of how bad TransUnion is as a company.

Bunch of amateurs. Lies after lies, cowboy company avoid at all costs. Thanks to Trans union and their lies have cost me losing my mortgage. Playing with people’s lives. They are a disgrace.

I can't believe Lloyds bank has anything to do with this lousy set up. No debit, no mortgage, always pay all on time, cards you name it. Tells you paying on time and not using your mac cards will increase it. 🤔 so how fo I improve, paying them? Tried to fill in the contact form, tells me my name Sabine has unacceptable characters, what the letters???? My postcode is not recognised 🫣 oh, been the same for 30 plus years....Tried to use their complaints link, just locks you out. Shocking, and this company has access to all our private financial records. Time to contact my gest friend trading standards abd my very trusted MP

Gave a 1 star as I can’t give zero, am not going to write a long review as all the other reviews sum up this absolute joke of a company. How the hell they are allowed to operate and control peoples credit scores is beyond me, there’s no one to speak too, you have to wait at least 28 days for a response to an email and when they do respond it’s utter garbage. You will just go round in circles and nothing will get resolved. Where is this company based? Might as well be North Korea, so I ask again, how in today’s day an age is a company like this able to have complete control over people’s credit files??? And why would big established companies use them??? lol

They ruined my credit score putting incorrect data and couldn't change it for several months.
I been promised about an update but this never happened.

Absolutely terrible customer service

comedy number generator that is only used to sell you credit products. Lenders have no access to it. Ignore numbers it kicks out they need to come clean about their market practices, maybe a class action lawsuit in the UK would clean up their act, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES EVER PAY FOR THE SERVICE OF ANY CREDIT AGENCY
