Ref 624193799803/S2154698 Can Capital resolve email me with a link that I can correspond to because they sent me numerous emails that can't be replied for a bogus Sky debt that was resolved by another debt debt collection agency as bad trading conduct. I will not reply on a debt collection portal as I do not owe that money.
Sent a demand for £80.00 which had been written off already.

Awful company. I left virgin media 3 years ago, paid all amounts due to them at the time I left and had this confirmed by a virgin employee on the phone (they said they could not send me written confirmation). Out of the blue cap resolve now calling and texting me saying that i owe virgin money. I have tried to call them to let them know they have made a mistake and no one answers but they still keep harassing me with messages that include no further details other than “you owe virgin money”. This company needs to be investigated and properly regulated so that they cannot continue to operate like this. No smoke without fire and the comments here represent a lot of smoke
Absolute vile company to deal with, despite being disputed our final EDF bill was referred to them, letters were sent to wrong name, constantly hounded by letters, emails & texts all times of the day from them yet it’s impossible to speak to a human being. My complaint was not upheld and they still continue to send letters to wrong name. I will be referring them to the ombudsman for further investigation.
100% Scammers!! They keep sending me texts and trying to call me saying I owe money to Virgin Media. I haven’t used virgin media for 4-5 years and I don’t have any outstanding payments with Virgin either. Also if you search Virgin Media Capital resolve nothing comes up. They are trying their luck to make you feel scared but I’m not!
Capital Resolve Limited, have become involved in sending out threatening letters, purportedly to be from SSE, that mean additional fees (in my case £500), are added to the balance of debts, which have already been dealt with by court action. This seems to amount to obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception, and seems a highly dubious way to increase the amount owing? I have the faked up SSE letter from Capital Resolve, and would be pleased to provide a copy to Trustpilot if required. SSE themselves ARE aware of scams such as this, and suggest sending out these letters, is a simple mistake.

Apparently still owe BG nearly 309 quid! No other info, went through my bank statements all paid up. No letters from BG in regards to these arrears, something not adding up.

I received several texts from capital resolve NOBODY EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE,AND AFTER HANGING ON, THEY SAY THEY WILL RING BACK,last time took 3 days,and told me to go on line,which you cant get on because it does not work,,,,try later,,perhaps it is to much work for the one part time phone operator,,,I asked for a bill which Ive never been sent or from vigin media,,your company is usless no stars, deal with this matter in writing registered,,,I dont owe any thing.
After multiple emails and query forms never replied or got back in contact despite the charge being a mistake. SSE could not withdraw it and Capital Resolve were extremely unprofessional in the matter.
Received a letter and an email saying that I had an outstanding debt with EDF Energy, who took over my account when Green Network Energy went bust. I switched at the same time to another energy company and this was in February 2021!! Phoned Capital Resolve and the only person that I could speak to was someone in the 'payments department'. The 'disputes department' had to be emailed. Sent evidence that my final billing account was paid to EDF Energy 13 months ago! Received no response after two and a half weeks, so rang Capital Resolve again today and still they couldn't provide an update. Just kept saying 'someone will get back to me from the disputes team'. I asked them why they couldn't provide me with evidence that these monies were due; like sending me an invoice or show how they came to this figure. They couldn't answer my question. So, I rang EDF Energy. Whilst it took two phone calls and an hour and a half to resolve, both customer representatives stated that I had a ZERO balance and that my account was closed. They said that they have not referred me to any debt collection agency. They also sent me a Statement of Account showing that no monies are due and said that my call had been recorded, so if Capital Resolve continue to pester me, I also have that as proof. Capital Resolve are a SCAM and I will be reporting them to both the FCA & FSO. I will take this matter as far as I can; these 'companies' should not be allowed to get away with scamming people so heartlessly, causing nothing but stress and upset. It's also frightening to think how these 'companies' also manage to get so much data like addresses and emails.
Further to my previous review re this debt collector EDF have confirmed to me that they "BY MISTAKE"-have given my personal details to Cap Resolve .
They are absolutely aware that the company cannot be contacted but they are able to communicate with them via an "INTERNAL QUERY FORM".
They will not tell me WHEN WHY or for HOW MUCH they instructed cap resolve but they are trying to assure me that I will not be hearing from CR again - surely it is for the debt collector to contact me with an explanation or an assurance that there will be no more contact.The original debt to Green Energy was £780 and after months of hassle finally this estimated account was resolved and £670 was paid in full .I was being harrassed for £1550 hence why questions to EDF.
EDF dont want to answer my questions and are offering me a derisory sum of £50 to resolve the matter ie TO GO AWAY
The matter is now with the omsbudsman and has been reported and is being investigated by other agencies .
I urge anybody that has been harassed by these scamsters to try to do something about it !

Keep emailing me claiming that I owe EDF money as they purchased my green energy account or something. I've never been with any of the energy companies listed in their emails and I've never been in debt with any energy provider. Tried to phone them as they're threatening a CCJ but cannot get through, my emails back to them never get replied to. Probably a company about to go bust so are trying their luck. No idea how they got my email address though!
We once had GEN as an energy supplier and when they ceased trading, EDF took them over roughly 2 years ago. I was with them for a short period before I moved house. I've since moved again. When I moved the first time, I did the usual as always by completing a full meter reading for both gas and leaky and provided photos to EDF so they could compose a final bill that I could pay, which I did. This was in 2020. Last May 2022, I received a bill completely out of the blue from EDF for £60... odd from a bill they forgot about after the GEN takeover. I complained and with the back billing rules set by their regulator OFGEM, I wasn't obliged to pay anything that was over a year old, especially as I could prove final meter readings and proof of final payment. EDF apologised and dropped the matter immediately & entirely for which I also have written proof.
Much to my surprise, Capital Resolve Ltd sent both a email and a letter to my new address recently. A scare tactic to entice me to believe that they know where I am and there's no hiding from them... however, already armed with enough evidence, I tried to call CR but couldn't speak to a human. So in the meantime, I emailed EDF, forwarded their apology back to them and asked EDF to explain why CR are now asking me for £168! EDF were sorry that I was going through an ordeal but told me a) my account has been closed down since last May 2021 as there is zero balance left to pay and therefore closed which as mentioned was May 2022 and b) they have categorically never instructed CR to collect an outstanding debt from me on their behalf.
CR then phoned me back..! After they started the data protection game, all I was prepared to give them was the so called account number they had for me on their letter and on the email and my first name. I was no way giving anything other personal information based on their vague email, so called legitimate letter alleging I owe £168, horrendous reviews on Trustpilot and an automated answerphone service with voice options of ways to pay but not to speak to a human.
I was so angry but I kept my cool, I didn't swear and I reiterated the above concisely and calmly. After apparently listening to me, Richard (if that was his real name) let me finish and he said that he's noted "my refusal to pay and will close the account" so I said "why? Because you've been well and truly found out? You're nothing more than scam artists!" He said "thank you for letting me know how you feel, we are a genuine company." Then put the phone down.
How do I and who do I complain to? Has anyone had any luck so far? This so called company simply cannot continue to operate like this and need to be stopped!
After composing this review, I've since received an email from CR stating that they are no longer instructed on this account and I need to go back to "their client" ie. EDF.
Awful company. Had an email about Green Energy and a payment owed to EDF now. this is fine - I was expecting that. what I wasn't expecting my personal details to be so wrong and to not be able to speak to anyone as they don't answer the phone. will also be making a complaint to the FSO
Such a shady company. I received a letter and email regarding a debt from green network energy. I hadn’t been with this company for two years and not at my current property and was under the impression everything was paid off.
I tried numerous times to call and could never get through, leaving my number for an agent to call me back the same day and nothing. I came to trust pilot to double check and saw people having the same issues or saying it was a scam.
I just rang EDF directly as I wasn’t able to get through to capital resolve. Their online portal didn’t even recognise my date of birth, nor did it have the previous address or whatever on it.
When phoning EDF they went through all my old security questions and confirmed I did have debt from a final bill (my mistake I guess) he did put me on hold to double check whether I pay them directly or capital resolve, he confirmed that I pay EDF directly and not this debt company as they will check in with them to ensure I’ve paid.
Unfortunately for some you may have legitimate debt that’s been passed on to this company, however this company doesn’t answer calls or emails, there’s no way to speak to them unless it’s to pay which I didn’t feel comfortable doing until I confirmed it was legitimate.
I got proof of reference and details from EDF before paying and has since received proof too and of my payment.
I have also been in receipt of one of these Capital Resolve emails regarding Green Energy debt. I was transferred to British Gas NOT EDF so none of their information is correct. It’s terrible these people can hound random innocent people!!
I am going to be joining the others below with an angry complaint to the regulator.
