My Father passed away 2 years ago and i have received a letter saying he owes EDF money ? they sent it to my home address 300 miles away, tried calling and emailing as others have but no response and no way to tell them this !. terrible company i will look to report them as its causing stress and upset
My son had the same. Request for money apparently owed to EDF after Green Network went through. EDF have no record of any debt. Not sure where they have obtained information from but they have errors in his personal information. There is no requirement to pay without evidence of the debt which we requested and had the no reply on this email! . Will be making a report to FSO and urge everyone else to do the same. Absolute chancers!
Scammers! They sent a letter to my neighbor's address but with my name and demanded to pay my debt for an old account I had with Green Network more than 2 years ago.
I was nearly ready to pay as I didn't want my credit score to be affected.
I was lucky I've read all these reviews.
They are taking advantage of the fact that we cannot access the GNE bills.
EDF advisors said that I should ignore it because they have received lots of calls from people with the same issue.
I have been trying to get in touch with this company for the past hour. This is to do with money they say I owe but payed 6 months ago. I am trying to make a complaint but can you do it NO.
They have a nice selection of ways to pay ,but nothing about making a complaint.
Why can't they just put up a web page that works for complaints

FRAUDSTERS they send professional-looking debt collection letters and emails and are taking advantage of the fact we're all a little confused what happened after our energy companies went bust.
They even sound quite legit over the phone but I just called EDF who confirmed there is no bill against me.
No email or letter sent from this company yet a text with a ref number and phone number received to contact them! I had already spoken to EDF as they took over green network energy 2 years ago and said I had outstanding bill. This wasn’t the case and EDF received my statements to show this! Collecting debt is serious when it is REAL, this is FAKE and a SCAM. Do not reply to this company. They should phone you directly if it is legitimate and give you all the details not the other way around!
My 84yr old father has received a letter and 2 emails saying he has outstanding debt of £288 from over 2yrs ago when EDF took over Green Network Energy. I was helping him deal with it at the time GNE went into liquidation and don’t recall anything outstanding. I’ve tried to call and speak with someone several times, no joy, tried to follow the instructions in the automated response and emailed for a copy of the supposed bill, nothing and also tried to log into their ‘portal’ which said my dad’s DOB was incorrect!!! While it’s frustrating for me, it’s given him sleepless nights. He’s terrified that he’ll be infiltrated by these people, no knowing if it’s real or a scam, worrying himself sick over it. These companies should be ashamed of themselves.
SCAM! Ignore the EDF/Green network energy letter saying you owe money. Contact your energy provider directly.
Scam. Sent me a letter claiming I owe £37.34 to Green Network Energy - I haven’t been with this company for 2.5 years. Not sure how they got hold of my new address as Green never had this, but I definitely don’t owe any money!!
Never had any outstanding payments with green energy and then these cretins creep out of the woodwork claiming I’m in debt. Texts and automated calls but no one on the phone you can talk to. Despicable

They contacted me saying that I owed money to GNE/EDF despite me not being with either for nearly 2 years. I contacted EDF to clear everything up and they advised there was no outstanding debt.
I attempted to contact Capital Resolve Numerous times to advise them but could never get through to speak to person.
Just like others I read the letter they sent and texted my previous landlord in panic. Once I researched a bit it became clear this was a scam. Plus my credit score is high and this would have certainly impacted it if legitimate. It is absolutely evil this day and age to exploit people in this cost of living crisis who are already on their knees in energy bills. Lastly, this must’ve been a data breach from green network/EDF who ought to also be held to account for leaking/selling our personal information to these scammers. Absolutely disgraceful, particularly when you think of how convincing they make it seem.
When I left Green Network Energy I was £1 in credit I was billed by EDF for £25 and paid it. Now Capital are saying EDF want £52 ! I have photo proof so they are not getting another penny
Same as many others. Saying I owe money to EDF for an outstanding Green Network Energy account. Gives no time period and no address. I was once with Green Networks 2 years ago and I have spoken to EDF customer services and their debt collections side, and they say there’s an old account, 2 years old and the balance is £0.
You can’t get through to a person at Capital Resolve other than to make a payment, which I won’t do. EDF assured me I have no debt with their company and NOT to make any payments to Capital Resolve.
I’ve even paid £15 to Experian for my credit report and I have no outstanding debts in my name to any companies.
I’m just furious at this contact as it did really worry me and has wasted a lot of my time.

They wrote / emailed/ text me re debt yet my energy firm had no knowledge not did the company who I allegedly owed money to.
NEVER ASSUME THEY ARE RIGHT - ALWAYS GET IN CONTACT WITH THE RELEVANT COMPANIES AND GET WRITTEN PROOF.
They never replied to my email with the proof that they were wrong ..

These clowns are chasing me for a non-existent debt from EDF. they send automated emails requesting payment to be paid centrally via their website. They don't answer phone calls.i have since blocked their emails and phone number.
Harassing me via email for a fictitious payment of an outstanding balance of an energy bill related to an old account. I have spoken to EDF who've confirmed I have no outstanding payments and they don't use this company to recover debt. Total scammers. Will not answer the phone. Will look at taking this further. Richard J Edwards leave me alone and do not contact me again.
Customer s are victimise by not carrying out proper investigation. They're protecting Green energy to defend them due to insolvency but I intend to take them to court with prove. Green energy should be blamed because you have gone burst but still accepting new innocent customers which are then passed to EDF without proper scrutiny. Lots of customers complained and they used covid 19. Read between the line, "What will you call that system."
Capitol Resolve Acted like solving cases with customers but never go deeper to investigate a case.
An incident between me living at 129 Colston in 2019 whereby Green energy provider went into insolvency but collecting money from customers without supplying energy. I noticed the problem and applied for E'on who started supplying energy with direct debit. Green energy passed my file to EDF and despite this two direct debit was going off my account. E'on was supplying but Green happens to be the commotion, who was honest about their hardship but passing files to EDF. I Called my bank to report and they retrieved the money back into my account hence EDF started requested money the don't deserve.
While that was going on I stopped E'on direct debit but had to pay them by instalments. EDF never go deeper to find out who owe Green energy but they compiled all customers to be owing. They need to investigate who is owing Green energy because I got no supply from them but E'on.
The case with Capitol Resolve was reported to Citizen advice bureau and I'm glad to go legal if they go more smarter.

I just read a letter from these clowns don't react or pay anything I was a gne customer when they went bust I paid my last bill, but I resolved all debts which, another company tried to get me to pay but I showed proof that I owe nothing, now I have these people on me which I will ignore be careful.
Received a letter claiming that I owed in excess of £800. They claimed that I owed money to EDF, when they took over customers from the collapse of Green Network Energy. There wasn't any information on the letter they sent relating to what exactly I was supposed to owe money so did what I expect many of you will have done. Done a google search, saw the reports on here and instantly thought something wasn't right. I thought I remembered the when GNE collapsed, the direct debit moved across automatically to EDF. I check and it certainly did and therefore I owe nothing. They are absolute chancers and praying on the old, overly compliant and naïve.
