Hired a micro digger and dumper for a large garden project with limited access. Rich and the team were fantastic and worked with us where our timescales slipped due to having unexpected building materials that took a lot longer to remove. Items were dropped off promptly, with collection then arranged when ready. Would definitely recommend.

Micro-digger hire
Hired a micro-digger for some garden excavation. Hire process was easy, the driver dropped off the equipment and gave a little safety demo.
Collection was equally smooth, they were able to accommodate us possibly not being present (although in the end we were).
Good service, would use again

Looking at the most recent reviews it seems that there is a common theme with what I about to write?
Hired a digger for a week, it broke down on the first day. Albeit they sent an engineer out to sort it, the issue was down to a previously broken pin which was highlighted by the engineer as it was rusty. On the last day, the track came off, more time lost. Worst part, they decided to charge me nearly £300 over a month later. No prior warning, just took it straight from my bank account. This was for the engineer to come and put the track back on. My lad and myself downed our tools and helped the engineer for the entire time he was there also as we could see he was struggling, which cost us money and time. It is nearly impossible for one of those tracks to come off, but we were blamed and charged for it. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND!

Unfortunately as we are not a charity we do need to charge for attending site and putting refitting tracks that customers have knocked off. Unfortunately we are unable to post a picture on this platform, but the track was pushed inwards towards the track base – this only happens when the machine is turned aggressively on the spot or when the track rubs up against an object. Our engineer spent a total of four hours including travel time sorting this issue out for you, and we reacted straight away and sent someone as soon as you called us.
Thank you for helping our engineer, 5 ton tracks can be a bit troublesome to handle, your help has been reflected in the reduce charge as the engineer took less time to do the job.
Track’s can and do come off with improper use, unfortunately they cannot be too tight as they would not move and would cause excess wear on the track rolllers, track idlers and track motors. There is a happy medium and all machines have their tracks checked before every hire to ensure that they are at the correct level of tension. As such if a track is knocked off it is either down to mechanical failure, which can sometimes happen or more often than not down to improper use.
We always give the benefit of doubt to our customers, however in this instance after the engineer had checked that the track tensioners and the track tensioner grease nipple’s had not failed there was only one conclusion that; the track had been knocked off by improper use. And as such it is the customers liability and must be charged for.

Very dishonest buisness. They will charge your card a week after the hire, for a problem that was their fault. Book a more creditable company!

Hi Kai,
Shall we put this into context? We came to collect the Micro Digger from you and it had a flat battery, after using the machine for two days, we had to divert the driver elsewhere and arranged for a fitter to attend site, the fitter jump started the machine (which had been parked with the engine canopy up against a wall, so it wasnt an easy task) and checked that the alternator was working and pushing out the correct voltage. It was.
We then arranged another driver to collect the machine. Once we had the machine back at our depot we removed the battery, charged it fully, let it sit for a week and tested with our battery tester (hence why you were charged for the breakdown call out one week after the hire - so that we could investigate fairly).
The battery was fine. The alternator which charged the battery on the machine was fine. There was nothing wrong with the equipment. As such you were charged for the breakdown call out for running the battery flat, this can happen by repeatedly turning the machine on and off again and not allowing the battery to charge, or by leaving the key in the ignition, or by not having the throttle on enough to excite the alternator.
Unfortunately for yourself in this instance there was nothing mechanically wrong with the equipment and you are liable for the costs we incurred for your actions. These costs were kept very cheap for you and this has been explained multiple times to you.
Full-day hire gave us half day work
Pre-booked a micro digger for the day to do some serious digging on a garden project. Digger was only delivered at 11am, implying that we had already lost 3 hours of working time. The equipment is also poorly maintained - typically, the bucket on a differ is secured using cotter pins, however on this digger, the cotter pins had been replaced by bolts and nuts. We need to change to a smaller bucket for the work we needed to do, but the bolts and nuts on the small bucket were totally rusted - we had to go and get spanners from the workshop to get them loosened, implying that we lost another hour's working time. So, we get charged a full day's hire for poorly maintained equipment that we could only use for half the day. Not impressed, despite having used Chase many times before, will not be using them again.

Hi Mike, thank you for your glowing review, the Micro Digger was booked for the morning of the 5th of March and it was indeed delivered in the morning. We do not, like much of the Plant Hire industry do timed deliveries or collections as there are just too many variables to take into account such as traffic and being held up on site. We simply offer a days hire of 24 hours from the time it is delivered and do our best to do an AM or a PM delivery, your digger was delivered at 11:00hrs and collected at 12:30 hours, as such you did not lose time or pay full price for half a day, indeed you actually had additional time for free.
It is indeed correct that you have used us numerous times over the years, I believe your account is ten plus years old and you have hired from us in 2019 (delivered at 13:40 hours when the hire was placed the same day), 2020 (delivered at 08:08 hours), 2023 (delivered at 08:12 hours) and finally 2025 (delivered at 11:00 hours). So unfortunately I suspect that in this case we have simply set the standards too high previously on past hires.
Concerning the 'poorly maintained' equipment which caused you to struggle to change the bucket and lose additional time, since 2021 we have fitted on our Micro and Mini Diggers quick hitches, which enable fast and efficient changing of buckets, this was done as many customers were requesting them and we made the decision to do this and thus increase our costs whilst also maintaining the same hire rate we have charged for 16 years.
Previous to this hire in 2025 you were provided with some of our pre 2021 machines which did not have a quick hitch fitted and necessitated the bucket pins being slid out, the bucket changed and the pins slid back in and secured with a lynch pin (whicht you call a cotter pin). However as our machines with quick hitches do not require the removal of bucket pins, but simply require the quick hitch safety pin to be removed and then the quick hitch bar to be inserted into the receiving hole and levered down, allowing the bucket to be detached and a new bucket fitted quickly, easier and with less mess. As such all the bucket pins on all the buckets are retained with nuts and bolts, and often we damage the thread on the bolts so that the nuts and bolts cannot accidentally come loose on their own.
Unfortunately it seems you are unaware of newer machines having quick hitches, and you did not feel the need to call us when you were stuck changing the buckets. Instead you removed the quick hitch entirely and then used the bucket directly attached to the machine, we naturally refitted the quick hitch when we got the machine back and because you are such a good customer we did not charge you for doing so.
