Really pleased with our new composite door! It looks great and the installation was done to a high standard. Would happily recommend.

We asked for a quote to replace two fire route escape doors, they measured up, gave us a great quote and manufactured them in a super fast time. They have now been installed. Great service from start to finish.

Chigwell Windows Centre Plc installed a 3-pane bifold door set with astragal bars (the steel look) for us in our period house in Wanstead. Being Edwardian it really suited our taste and the period property. The sales guy John Pattrick, was very knowledgable about this type of door and guides us through the process. We've recommended this company to many friends and businesses. Most recently a neighbour had some windows fitted.

We have had multiple issues with Chigwell since having aluminium windows and a door installed last year.

Firstly, chose to go with Chigwell as they had the shortest lead times - this eventually turned into a delay of over a month, effectively stalling our internal building works too. Compensation was agreed over the phone, and was told to wait until the install was complete to discuss compensation.

When they were finally installed, we were rushed into agreeing works had been completed, which we said had been installed. Any talk of compensation was then supposedly void, as "Clause 15 of the Ts & Cs shows".

We've had multiple delays throughout the install, and many more cancellations for call outs, for fixing issues and complaints.

Whilst the windows and doors are okay, the customer service has been appalling. We are currently 3 months into requesting our trickle vents to be installed properly. We paid a small fortune to have them colour matched, powder coated, to which we've had multiple call outs to supposedly fix - only for them to be plastic rather than aluminium, not colour matched, and not powder coated. They are now not responding to emails, having followed up on the issue with trickle vents multiple times.

It has been a complete waste of time from start to finish, the level of care has been appalling, and the shadiness regarding compensation is absymal.

Had a door fitted, it was an easy process throughout, excellent product and skill full fitters, highly recommend using this company

Obnoxious sales manager! Customers beware of poor attitude and braggy claims of their position as UK biggest PLC window firm. Horrible.

2 Day installation for downstairs only. Patio doors and 2 additional windows. The Floor plate for Patio doors was left behind in error. Fitters had to wait 2 hours or more for part to arrive to continue, by this time it was getting on for 5pm. Tested doors they worked. Next morning patio door jammed stuck. It took over 3 weeks to get new lock.
Made repeated calls, emails. Departments do not pick up. One technician returned and said it was a two man job and couldn't fix. Finally we now have a fix and are hoping it stays this way.

Title: High Deposit and Refusal to Refund

I would advise anyone considering ordering from this company to carefully check the cancellation and refund terms before paying a deposit.

I paid a substantial deposit for my windows. After long delays, I decided to cancel the order and requested a refund. The company has refused to return my deposit, claiming that I selected a special-order colour and that cancellation is no longer permitted without deductions.

I disagree with their explanation. I was shown the available colours by the company and chose one of the options presented to me. I have reviewed my contract and do not believe I agreed to a special-order colour as they now claim.

I am extremely disappointed with the situation. My deposit remains at stake, and I am still trying to resolve this matter with the company.

My advice to other customers: make sure you fully understand the deposit, cancellation and refund conditions before committing to an order.

I was very apprehensive when looking to replace my rear windows and doors. I have driven past Brentwood showroom countless times but thought they would be too expensive. I was wrong. Great value and service from sale to installation, it has been faultless. Every person I have dealt with have been great. Super company to deal with.

Unfortunately, our experience with Chigwell Window Centre has been disappointing.

Despite having paid in full, our installation remains incomplete. One door does not operate at all, the other does not close correctly, and finishing work is still outstanding.

We have contacted the company on numerous occasions to resolve these issues. An appointment was arranged for the installers to return, but they failed to attend during the agreed time, despite us remaining on site for several additional hours.

Communication and follow-up have been poor, and our formal complaint has yet to be acknowledged.

We had high expectations when choosing Chigwell, but the installation and subsequent customer service have fallen well short of what we expected.

Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company.

Terrible customer service - our large skylight which was installed by Chigwell spontaneously failed. Thankfully no one was underneath but this could have resulted in serious injury.
They have not resolved our issue at all, and we have been waiting weeks to get a quote (even though this should be fully covered under warranty).
We are increasingly concerned by the lack of communication and progress.
They also said they did not have any details of the original installation as it was in 2018 and the file is ‘corrupt’ which is extremely concerning.
We will be looking to escalate this matter further.

Complaint about damage to my property by your company
Dear Dean,
Sorry to have to take this step, but for 13 weeks now l've been trying to get a door fixed. There's been excuses and lies and today, an engineer has actually broken the door, meaning that I can't lock it.
I'm not safe in my house. My neighbours are violent people who're known to the police. You have failed me repeatedly and today you've caused damage to my property. Wayne nas been giving me the runaround al day, as I'm not a priority. Jack promised me a call back. but hasn't called. I can't lock my door to secure my house. I need help. Immediately, please

Ordered the so called 6 day bi fold in white so off the shelf they wait till you pay and send you a date for 5 weeks time so I call and say the people are moving in 4 weeks time so they changed it to the day before great so I can expect it between 12 & 1 bullshit I turned up at 4 day has gone payed fitters to stand around for their lies when I fitted it for the disgruntled clusters the day after it wouldn’t glaze properly because they had the glass taped any fool knows you don’t tape aluminum products the locking bar was screwd way off line and it was face drained which looks terrible no reason to do that will never order from them again liars that don’t answer their phones or return calls are guilty Albi answered thanks

We had a 4.4m 5-door bi-folding door fitted towards the end of October 2025.
From the day it was fitted we noticed problems with the installation.
Chigwell were the supplier not the installer. We were the end user and not the customer, as they pointed out!
Chigwell got involved and sent an engineer to carry out remedial modifications in December 25. We soon had an email stating the works had been completed and asking if we were happy. We replied that we were not! We sent a reminder and received an 'out of office' reply! Didn't hear another thing until we had a further problem in April 26. We emailed them again and was told that our email in December was not received?? Clearly not true because of the out of office reply! We were also told that since we were not the customer, we should direct our issues to the company we bought the doors from.
Needless to say, we now are in the middle of a power struggle between the supplier; Chigwell and our builders supplier. Chigwell, particularly are not taking ownership of our problem - although we are not the customer! They are more interested in apportioning blame!! Stating it is an installation problem not a manufacturing one. They refer to the engineers report from December, which they are only refering to now, May 26! At no time in the last 6 months was that report sent to either us or our builder!
Beware, if the installation goes wrong, they don't want to know!!

Great aftercare. Graeme was very helpful, made the necessary fine tuning within minutes.

Terrible customer service - I have been chasing for 19 days and still not had a response. I have three blown windows, all were fitted less than 4 years ago.

Chigwell windows sent 2 operatives to install a new kitchen window,they did a brilliant job my window is lovely & they left the area they was working in clean & tidy.
