Ordered a gift hamper for Father’s Day, when it arrived it was not the same cheese as advertised, unfortunately the cheese flavours that were sent is not something my dad would enjoy so he gave it away. When informing the company they refunded 10% which is not really satisfactory I would have rather they kept the 10% and sent the correct cheese!

I was looking forward to receiving my selection of delicious artisan treats mystery box, but unfortunately I ended up with 10 cheeses (2 xmas) and 4 x 20g chutney jars (3 the same). With the short shelf life this deal wasn't worth it for me and I wouldn't purchase a mystery box again.
I did have a good delivery experience.

Lovely cheeses. Lemon celo is my favouite but all great.
I buy at christmas time as gifts and treat myself now and again.

The Chuckling Cheese Company is basically what happens when great cheddar develops a sense of humour.

This is the 4th box from this company, 2 of them mystery boxes , super impressed with all the selection of cheeses,chutneys and treats, well worth the money, I would nt go to the supermarket and spend so much on cheese treats , but this company really do have a fantastic selection of unusual cheese products, and delivered to your foor.Also ordered some of the novelty real ales, hubby was delighted.

I ordered a specific selection of cheese as a Father's Day gift, based on my dad's tastes. When it arrived, 2 out of the 3 cheeses had been replaced with flavours that he would never eat. When I emailed to ask if they could send the correct cheeses, I got a robotic reply with a screen grab of the well concealed 'terms of conditions' that state that replacements will be made if certain cheese aren't available. They didn't care that it was a gift and made no attempt to rectify the situation. Awful customer service. If you're looking for online artisan cheese with great customer service, I suggest using another site such as the Cheshire Cheese Company who are more than happy to send replacements if the wrong cheeses are packed.
Update 20th June: their response below says everything, my issue wasn’t with the delivery but the products. They haven’t even read the review. As I said in my original review…avoid!

We've had the mystery box sets a number of times and have never been disappointed!
On average 5 or 6 truckles, a couple of barrels and at least 2 different varieties of snack. Not forgetting the mini chutneys.
Won't hesitate to order again.

The mystery cheese box was a great success, bought as a gift. It was a great surprise and caused a buzz as everyone was keen to check out the contents.
Value was excellent especially as it was on offer at 50% off

As always the products are excellent value, taste delicious & there is such a wide variety of items and special offers to choose from. This particular order was for valued friends as a thank you and this company did not let me down. The recipients were very impressed.Have bought several gift hampers, mystery parcels. Would highly recommend this company.Absolutely love their products.

My 2nd mystery box disappointed with the box and dates on the cheeses

Sadly I did not have the same experience as the review below. I ordered accidentally for the 26th of June delivery so contacted Customer Service services who advised they absolutely could not bring forward my delivery date. They’re very quick to reply to emails but apparently not so quick to pick the stock. Disappointed.

Company does not deliver on time and preferred delivery ignored . I ordered 2 weeks in advance on 28.05 for a chosen delivery date 13.06 which was an early Father’s Day lunch I had planned as I am working on actual Father’s Day. Not delivered and still not delivered . Contacted customer service who offered me 20% of next order . Why would anyone order with this company again after products not delivered the first time round . Asked for reassurance of delivery for actual Fathers Day and still unable to guarantee this. If for a special occasion, choose another company who can deliver products . I am still waiting.

Rubbish mystery box! NEVER AGAIN! It’s A con! NOT worth £40… So disappointed! … The photo shows drinks and biscuits and sweets and various cheeses as an example but I’ve got a load of same type cheese. I don’t like onion or cranberry but thought I might get either but I’ve got 3 onion type cheese & 2 cranberry. 2 old Christmas cheeses (we are in June) and a few pickle sauces. RUBBISH! Most of it’s going in the bin! Either this is a con job or your staff need serious training???

I recently placed an order, On completion of the order we requested it to be delivered on Wednesday 20th May, we stayed in all day but nothing arrived even though we had an email from Royal Mail confirming that delivery date. We then stayed in the following day but yet again no delivery and no further information from Royal Mail. The parcel eventually arrived today (Friday 22nd May) at 12.37 but as expected the product within the parcel was sitting way above the recommended storage temperature of 5*C and was actually above 20*C (there was one very small ice pack within the packaging)
I made a phone call on the 22nd May to lodge a complaint and request a full refund, only to be told this needed to be done by email, I proceeded to do this and sent an email on the same day. As yet I still haven’t received a reply, I have thrown £30 worth of cheeses out as I have not been informed whether they were safe to eat or not.
The least I expected was a polite reply and apology with some form of explanation on what the next steps were with dealing with this issue. I completely understand that you can’t totally control the delivery date, but this is your chosen courier and why give an option when checking out if you can’t guarantee that date.
I thoroughly enjoy your product but I just can’t make another purchase until you can guarantee a delivery date. I would also appreciate it if you could resolve my current issue.

I have ordered from them at least every couple of months since they started - every new cheese is delicious and the cream tea is my mums favourite but i have a soft spot for the limoncello. Always packaged well and ice packs for the cheeses so keeps cold for delivery. Prices are reasonable for artisan cheese and foods. I highly recommend the fudge as well, its a fab combo! I had the advent calendar this year and really enjoyed it! I will continue to order from this excellent company

Not great. When delivered a bottle of beer smashed and soaked everything. The cheese box was a gift and was soaked and inside had broken glass. It also had a cracked chutney jar. Pictures were sent over and evidence was given however they only replaced 1 beer. The packing was terrible with only the paper to protect the bottles where on to of the box. No where on the box stated handle with care.
Customer service was shocking to say the least and I won't be returning.
