Absolutely terrible company! They failed to outline crucial facts about proof of age verification and when I ask for a refund they bring up their “processing fee” but the only processing they have done is look at the picture of my passport I provided and decide to be a pain in the ass and deny it. They also failed to mention that the referee must know you by records or have seen your passport! I advise to stay far away from this scheme!

Awful. Helping our an aging family member trying to get their card. Went through the automated process, paid for months ago and still no card. Referee used matches the requirement but they reject. They quite happily keep the money without the process been completed.

Wish I read the reviews BEFORE starting the scam, whoops I mean Application service.

Unbelievable. Little wonder they've only got 3 stars.
This company are unable to issue me a card. I've tried to follow their instructions to obtain a card, but each time, my attempts fail. So I ask for a refund and have been denied one! As its taken their "time and resources"...like its not taken mine?! And since THEY can't provide me with what THEY promise how can I be denied my money back?!
If this review saves just one person wasting their time and resources then good. This is completely unfair. Scammers.

Thank you for the help and support and I hope all the necessary improvements haas been made to reflect on the card I just hope that the card itself would have appeared automatically and digitally as well on the phone just like the card itself whilst I have confirmed or provided a proof of identity to update it on the phone Thank you for the help and support

so after struggling for two hours to complete my application and paying them £35 Upfront....
This all happened:
Firstly they put my application on hold because they could not verify the photograph of my passport I sent to them,

Then I had to start the whole process again but on this second attempt to take my facial recognition picture that failed also (13 attempts that time...)
and even with trying it on two separate smart phones - the background or lighting was wrong every time despite adjusting the photo's location position & angle over and over again.
By the end of this I was close to tearing my hair out.
NOTHING I could do would make that photo required acceptable and by this point I'd wasted two hours of my day and could do nothing but give up.

The whole experience has been a total frustrating waste of my time and considerable effort yesterday and has left me feeling pretty angry
as I have nothing to show for my efforts whatsoever apart from a bill for £35 and NO Citizen Card !
They really need to either make the process simpler to upload/take photos or drastically improve the software being used on their website.
My big question would be why I was actually charged at all if I was unable to complete their application form and get my hands on the product (the citizen card) they are selling? This all smells a lot like a scam and a con. So I'm going to need a full refund.

Received in a day, they kept updated on progress, 5* start to finish

Quick and efficient service - I got my (replacement) CitizenCard sent out to me with a minimum of hassle and I cannot recommend the exceptional services provided enough!

Scammers avoid at all costs. Applied for a card they were happy to take my money but when they couldn't produce a card they refused a refund.

My bank was insisting I provide proof of identity, a [current] driving license or passport for security reasons. I applied for a CitizenCard mistakenly believing it was an accepted form of personal identification in the absence of a driving license/passport - it's not!
I found the application process frustrating having a limited source of referees: my GP surgery refused to act as referee because it's too time consuming and my dentist agreed only as a favour to me. However, I received a call from my dentist to say having completed the initial form he had received further questions to answer and he really didn't have the time. I apologised and told him to ignore the request as I'd now decided not to pursue my application.
Soon after applying for a CitizenCard I came to realise it was not a recognised proof of identity, certainly not recognised by the banking sector, but primarily a proof of age card. It would only prove beneficial to young people and certainly of no use to people of my age (75). This raises the issue of CitizenCard's ethical trading policy as they took payment for my application in full knowledge that I would not derive any benefit from purchasing their card as it's been many years since I had to prove my age to anyone. So why does CitizenCard accept applications from people who they know will derive no benefit from purchasing their card due to their age?
Once an application has been made a refund is highly unlikely because CitizenCard will only refund if they are at fault. They also state: "It is not a payment for the card itself which at all times remains the property of CitizenCard Limited".
CitizenCard is a very expensive proof of age/ID card when considering anyone needing such a card can obtain a Post Office PASS card for less than half the price of a CitizenCard.

This was a terrible experience. I bought a 16-17 year old citizen card thinking that it would work when I turn 18 until I got a better form of id. However I have recently found out you cannot purchase alcohol with this card even if you are 18. So I decided to look into getting a replacement, this is where the experience got terrible. I tried to go to the application to get a replacement card and it just sent me back to the login page. It got to the point of frustration that I just had to buy a whole new card. And now it wont arrive for my birthday. Ruining my plans since we cant afford the fast paced shipping. Which is also a massive waste of money

Straight forward process and quick delivery.

Whilst it’s quite time consuming, the interface is very user-friendly and allows you to go back into the application process if don’t have all information available.
(Photo quite tricky to get correct lighting without shadow; I found standing beneath an overhead light the best way to get acceptable picture.)

Applied for the urgent ID card and received it extremely fast.

Will recommend for others in need in the future

Scam company takes my money for urgent delivery of a card, before claiming my referee does not know me. Over a week and they are rude in emails, dont have a phone line, (I wonder why) and won't issue a card i paid to have delivered in two days!

They referee does know me, the company never even spoke to her. Claimed that she said doesn't know me twice. While I'm talking to her personally on the phone confirming they are liars.

Refuse to give refunds, refuse to send card, refuse to accept legitimate valid ID routes, dont even call the referee before lying and saying they have spoken to her twice.

Absolutely ridiculous company model.

DO NOT pay them any money!

Easy application and already used it as all other ideas is out of date
