Can't open a bank with it

The application process was seemless and easy to use.

I am still waiting on them verifying my referee after I gave them the extra information they asked. I paid extra to fast track and still waiting. They tell you to email but you'll wait days to get a response if your lucky to get one. Would not recommend. If I don't hear from them soon I'll be asking to cancel and will be expecting a refund.

This is really scammy considering it's supposed to be an accepted alternative to passport or driving licence. Halfway through doing the application for my elderly Dad, we discovered his passport was still valid. At this point we realised there is no 'cancel' function and they had already taken payment dispite having not processed anything. Now they are ignoring my request to cancel and refund. I am disgusted and will take it as far as necessary but recommend you opt for a different service!!!!

I have had issues with venues refusing entry due to using my citizen card as a form of ID despite my best efforts to show them proof of it being a valid proof of ID. The venues claim it’s part of their policy to not accept it. If there is any advice about this type of situation i’d really appreciate it.

Awful company not in the least bit helpful ask you for a referee from a certain job groups then just expect to be able to ring them at random times and them be available no times given no number to call back seems like a big scam, I would avoid

I would give zero stars if I could. I'm disabled and live in near poverty, so thought this would be a cheaper alternative for identification than a passport that I'd never use. I already had one a few years ago but it's a bit damaged so my application was just for a replacement card. On the online form it quite clearly said that there was no need for a new photo for a replacement card if you still look like your photo. I do look like my photo sadly so continued with the application without uploading a new one. The form allowed me to continue, allowed me to pay, and at no point did it flag up the need for a photo. Then the next day I'm sent an email telling me I need to upload a photo and my application won't be continued without one. I questioned this via email with a very rude and uncaring customer advisor, but to no avail. I went to the bother of taking and uploading a new photo but this was declined. This photo I have since used for both of my official Disabled Cards with no trouble at all, so I'm not quite sure what Citizen cards problem is with it. I therefore gave up and emailed them requesting a refund due to them not processing the order. I pointed out again that their online site should not allow people to get to the payment stage if a photo hasn't been uploaded, if a photo is always needed. It took several days to get a reply, which was a very short unfriendly and unapologetic email saying it's not their fault and they won't refund me. I consider this to be stealing from me. The cost of that card is half of my weekly shopping cost. DO NOT BUY FROM CITIZEN CARD.

Absolutely useless. Been trying to verify my identity for close to a year. Every referee I provide is rejected! I give the information requested by email and they keep rejecting it. My first referee was a headteacher the second a manager of a vat registered charity both are shown as valid on the citizencard website yet both have been rejected. If you want nothing but stress this is the way forward. If you want an i.d. I suggest applying for a provisional license.

The fact that I have to get a new card every 3 years. It's crazy if I had a Driver's licence. That would only need to renewed once every 10 years by your calculations. I'd have to have had 3, almost 4 card updates. In the time it takes someone with a Driver's licence to get theirs renewed once You seriously need to look at your systems that is absolutely ridiculous. And the amount of money did it cost. There's no way it costs that much to produce one of these cards

It was a state forward application and came within 24 hrs cost a bit more but well worth it.

Applied on line lunchtime Monday. The card came through my letterbox the next morning. Brilliant service.

The website way of verifying documents and images is flawed. It will keep failing - I think the biometric settings are for white people only. If you are a person of color, you will be frustrated to no end. Making an application for a minor yet being asked for a driving license ID is ridiculous! Or give your European ID - we are not all from Europe. The system is designed for locals or Europeans - this should be clearly stated on their website to prevent wasting time for other non locals aka people of color. They will send many emails requesting same information you have indicated that you don’t have. What an exhausting process for a service that is paid for! After this application, I can not do it again nor even renew. The customer service should read emails and the biometrics settings need to work for other races/people!

Find it in possible to get somewhere with these guys I already given referee my postmaster and keep putting the stats on hold been 7 weeks and I payed for urgent

Used my passport for verification. Found the process of scanning my passport and facial recognition difficult to complete. This was due to technical limitations on the web site.

Received card after about 3-4 weeks. Fairly easy to do the application. Just a bit fiddly getting the photo in right position for it to scan.
