Wonderful experience so far, highly recommend!!

It's been 3-4 months since we first received funding from Clearco (soon going to get our third round of funding) and couldn't be happier with what we've been able to achieve so far.

As a subscription-based produce delivery service here in Australia, growing our customer base has always been a goal of ours but being extra precautious with our cash flow has obviously held us back from being able to scale.

Ever since we started receiving funding from Clearco, we've been able to create and scale our marketing campaigns and in turn, bring on more subscribers and continually grow our customer base.

The support we've received so far from Aaron and Pierce has been exceptional and we look forward to seeing where this journey with Clearco continues to take us!

Very simple process

Very simple process, very supportive team and expanding range of products from inventory to marketing with quality rates. To me it is like having a credit card, without all the paper, hassles, and bottlenecks credit cards have.

The money is provided within 24 hours after an evaluation of your business, margins, etc through their auditing team and tool which integrates easily with XERO + Shopify to make it a very transparent process.

Each day you get a commission rate based on the contract agreements, and your revenue and margins for the day so it takes it out and even has a cashback reward system.

It is a simple, intuitive program. Recommend it to those who want to stay cashflow friendly at all times with easy repayment terms that are fair and straightforward.

The only thing I would love, which I imagine is in the future is integration with XERO for your repayments to reconcile them, but that is easily overcome by exporting the CSV and importing.

But a strong 5/5 for me, great company and approach to help SME growing their business.

Absolutely horrible experience with…

Absolutely horrible experience with their ClearAngel program! I was contacted by one of the co-founders to sign up for their ClearAngel program. Everyone was great and responsive until after I signed their contract and connected all of my data. 2 months after signing the contract and after my on boarding I heard nothing back even after countless times of contacting the team. I am a small business owner of 2 business’ and the time, effort and excitement I had spent is wasted. You came to me, I didn’t come to you. I gave you all of my personal information that you still have without receiving anything positive or helpful for my business in return.

Different company in difficult times...

Unwilling to work with you when something goes wrong. Still waiting to hear back from them about my personal guarantee. After initial discussion with an empathic person, now hit a wall of silence and inflexibility. Rather drive me towards personal bankruptcy than deal with the situation. One of those tier 2 lenders where everything looks great whilst things are running smoothly but the moment things become difficult you see what they are really like. In the goods times, its all positive to the point you forget it is not really cheap money as they make more available. But god forbid something doesn't go to plan, like a Pandemic, dark clouds cover over the sunshine and it gets very cold.

Beware of sharing your data

I had a very concerning and frustrating experience with Clearbanc. I was invited to participate in their ClearAngel (angel funding) program but have been completely ignored after I had connected my Shopify and Facebook business accounts per their instructions. It was a very confusing, misleading, and fruitless process. After an initial email exchange, they sent me dates to schedule an onboarding. I choose the earliest possible, not knowing exactly what to expect. Then I was asked to connect all my accounts before attending an onboarding. But one of the requests was to connect my bank account so they can see my finances. I connected my Shopify and Facebook accounts. Then I asked some questions around connecting banking accounts and adding other accounts they were looking for. Several days go by and I don’t hear anything, which was weird because in previous communications, they had even communicated over the weekend. I reached out to another person there and that person says they don’t know who I am referring to and asked that I forward my questions to her. At this point, I am very unnerved that my data is just out there and this tech forward financial institution that I am potentially working with for the next four years has such basic problems with customer experience, communication, and organization. So I tell her I am concerned and ask her if this is an anomaly or what am I to expect the next four years. I don’t hear back. A week and a half after sending my questions initially, I heard back from the previous person who simply says “sorry for the delay, sending this to customer success and you’ll hear back soon”. I still don’t hear anything for a few days and after being essentially ignored for two weeks, I sent an email to one of the founders who had reached out to me initially to participate in the program. I write to him about my experience and asked for a resolution. It’s been over a week now and nothing.
I have no idea what it’s like to work with the Clearbanc side of the institution versus the ClearAngel side, but my experience with ClearAngel has been a huge waste of time. As a one woman run business right now, spending the kind of time, mentality, and effort into getting ready for their program and trying to get ahold of them has hurt my business’ growth during those times. I also feel very uncomfortable by the fact they had access to my data for so long, especially because their business model is based on providing automated data-driven recommendations to partners. I had requested to remove my data from their site today, which may take up to ten business days to conduct due diligence according to their website. Concerned and truly disappointed after reading about them in the media.

5/18/21 Update:
I heard back from support about disconnecting my business accounts from their platform and apparently you can't disconnect from the platform. The only way to disconnect is if you change your password on each of your business accounts (ex. Shopify). Good to know before connecting accounts with Clearbanc.

6/8/21 Update:
I really didn't want to bother with writing this update but after talking to several other entrepreneurs, I decided that people really need to be warned about this company. After Louie from Customer got involved, he connected me with a member of the team responsible for working on my account. Without any explanation for the unresponsiveness, this person wrote that they only work with companies that generate above a certain level of revenue. I responded that I am confused because this was information they already had from me early on in the process. They had even previously stated that after I submit that information they will conduct due diligence to make sure I am a right fit for the program. After they getting that information from me, they sent me an agreement form to sign and then sent me multiple communications to connect all my accounts and data with their system.

This is an incredibly shady practice. The other reviewer who called for an investigation of this company is absolutely right. My experience and their subsequent response clearly demonstrated their intention to take my information without any intention to grant me the capital as promised. They are taking advantage of small business owners' lack of resources to fight them and hold them accountable for their questionable practices. I believe that they deliberately misled me into providing data for their platform to service their bigger clients. Lesson learned. Beware and avoid.

A decision you will not regret.

Where do I start with this company?

The whole process was quick, easy and painless.

Maury has been absolutely fantastic, the communication is exemplary and he’s made himself always available. The proposal was clear and I was able to make an informed decision that I felt 100% comfortable with.

I am confident that this has been the best decision and is on better terms than a traditional business loan.

The help from Clearbanc has truly boosted my business, saved me time and is allowing me to grow my business. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

We did have one slight hiccup after settlement, but Maury was available, responded fast and fixed it quickly. He also followed up over the next few days to ensure things were on track.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone in business needing help.
