Good experience

Been with Collingwood 2 years now. Fantastic customer service. My recent dealing with them is was Dee-Lie that handled it. She remembers all our previous conversations and was very patient with me. I had renewals with her and change of vehicle 3 times this month and she was fantastic. She must have done a total of 5/6 quotes for me in the last 4 weeks. Would definitely recommend them 🫡✌️

Cancelled my learner insurance with collingwood and instead of just charging £40 (which is already a lot), they have taken extra month payment £151.66 and another £114.36, saying I owe them all this money acc to their T&C and their premium that they charge if you cancel early. Of course I had to cancel, I had passed my test and didn’t need their insurance any more. Complete rip off, don’t recommend anyone buying their insurance ever!! Upon calling their customer support said I should have cancelled a day before?? A day before your actual driving test? When you don’t even know what’s going to be the outcome? Such a waste of money and time. They are heavy on their hidden charges and unfair contract.

Horrific company!! 6.5k I paid for my insurance policy for my Van. Put in a claim for a collision that was deliberately caused by another driver, with dashcam footage to prove this. The police AND the independent examiner assigned to the case confirmed and agreed the other driver was at fault yet collingwood refused to take the matter to court to fight my side. Now I’m 6.5k down from the policy, 15k down for the loss of earnings, replacing the written off vehicle and the massive increase in both my business and personal vehicle insurance policies. AVOID THIS ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A COMPANY. All they will do is take your money and provide ZERO support to you when you most need it. Disgusting Leeches!!!

Very disappointing experience with Collingwood Learner Insurance.

I initially paid around £199 to start the policy, then another £99.54 monthly payment was taken, and after cancelling the policy I was still charged an additional £64.51.

In total, I ended up paying approximately £363 for barely one month of learner insurance coverage.

I cancelled the policy on 1 May at 6:12am and received confirmation that the policy would be cancelled from the exact date and time of my request. Despite this, another payment was still taken shortly afterwards. Their explanation was that the automatic payment could not be stopped and that cancellation fees and annual premium charges still applied.

I understand companies have terms and conditions, but the overall experience felt extremely unfair, confusing and very expensive for such a short period of coverage.

As a customer, I feel the pricing structure and cancellation costs were not made sufficiently clear at the start. I strongly suggest that anyone considering this insurer carefully reviews all fees, cancellation charges and policy terms before signing up.

Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Collingwood and I would not use them again.

Easy to set up and pay for but disappointing at the end; learner driver insurance which ended after 8 months due to passing test (expected that this would happen), didn’t expect to have to pay £40 to cancel the insurance on passing test though! Nor did I expect the assured ‘discount’ on first years insurance to be unavailable due to ‘the age of the vehicle’ - the same vehicle as previously insured and no mention of this clause whatsoever on taking out the initial learner driver insurance. Certainly would not use them again as both these nuggets of information were not clearly expressed and the discount on passing was a major factor in going with them to start with. Feel scammed!

Be careful, and shocked to learn hidden charges i was not aware of. Considering this is meant to be a temporary insurance while your child learns and passes as quickly as possible, we were shocked to find after my son passed his test, having paid the full annual premium they have emailed me today to take a £40 'Cancellation charge" - shocking go else where

Very poor, think a rip off for young drivers.
My daughter had learners insurance for two months before passing and lost 80% of the premium paid.
They might be cheap but not worth it

Be careful, considering this is meant to be a temporary insurance while your child learns and passes as quickly as possible, we were shocked to find after my daughter passed her test within the first year, they took a £40 'Cancellation charge" to congratulate her on passing! Nice touch there Collingwood! Grabbing money any which way they can!
