Renewal quotes always seem reasonable and easy to make any changes. Calls taken quickly without being on hold for ages and helpful staff, easy to make changes to policy without costly charges like others seem to.

Normally, if I'm switching insurer, I find a quote on a comparison site based on the options I need, fill in the forms, and pay the premium. Easy! Not so with Sterling...
First they asked me to upload lots of extra information, which I did.
They asked me to call, so I did.
They then told me the price was dependent on having a tracker. This was not in the original quote. I do have a tracker - there's one built in to every Tesla - but that didn't count.
Then I was told I needed to upload evidence of every insurance policy I'd had since the vehicle was bought 6+ years ago! So I started searching my emails and gathering PDFs.
Then I was told that, because of the lack of tracker, there would be an extra premium to pay. And a charge for the policy change. Eventually we reduced the quote back down to the advertised one by removing options.
After more than an hour on the phone I had got back to a lesser policy but for the advertised price.
Then I was told I needed to upload my V5C. I pointed out that I had already done that.
Then I was told I needed to upload my licence check codes. Ditto.
Then I was told I *didn't*, after all, need to upload my last six years worth of insurance details.
Everything was sorted, and nothing more was needed from me. With a big sigh of relief at both ends, we hung up after more than an hour.

And then I got an email listing all the bits of information I needed to upload...

These were, of course, the same bits of information I had uploaded in the morning and been discussing on the phone for quite a lot of the afternoon. So this time I tried the web chat, and pointed out that those had already been uploaded. But no, I was told, I needed to upload them again.

And that was one step too far. Can you imagine being on the roadside after an accident and having to deal with a company this incompetent?

So I cancelled the policy. Fortunately I was still within the 14-day cooling-off period and the policy hadn't yet started, so there was nothing to pay... they waived the 'set-up fee' as a goodwill gesture!

The person that dealt with my enquiry was very helpful and polite.

Sterling Insurance has been able to provide cover for us when a lot of other insurers couldn’t. They were able to understand our needs and provide cover for extended foreign use. Our renewal has been simple and staff have been helpful both over the phone and through their chat option.

Even though I decided not to go with Sterling this year for insurance, I just wanted to mention how great my interaction/experience was still. Sarah made the process extremely easy and as enjoyable as insurance can be. She was very friendly and informative, even offered to call me back next year to offer a price when renewal comes round again.
I feel she went above and beyond to give me the best service possible even when not choosing Sterling for insurance this year.

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY MY DAUGHTER PAST HER TEST AND AFTER ME TAKEN OUT LEARNERS INSURANCE FOR HER WHEN I CANCELLED I WAS CHARGED OVER £200 IT SAID CANCELATION FEE WAS £37.50 BUT THEY ADD EXTRA ADMINISTRATION FEES ON ABSOULTE SHITE INSURANCE COMPANY ALSO TAKES OVER 2 HRS TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SOME ONE NOT SURPRISED PROBABLY EVERY 1 WITH THE SAME ISSUE

Been with Sterling for a few years now and always had a really positive experience anytime I have contacted them. Any agents I have spoken with have been friendly and helpful and never had to jump through hoops to speak to a real person.

The insurance advisor, Aiden was very informative and found an insurance policy that was even a lower price the I expected, even though the original quote was, I thought reasonable. So well done to Aiden and Sterling insurance.
