Excellent customer service. Great insurance company. I've been with them for several years. I can recommend them.highly enough. So much nicer and easier to deal with than the over promoted ones.

My experience with Sterling Insurance Company has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

Money was taken from my direct debit without my consent, which I believe affected my ability to cancel the policy. Throughout the process, I was repeatedly asked for more money rather than receiving proper assistance.

When I finally decided to cancel the policy, I was hit with expensive cancellation and administration fees. I had only used the insurance service for two months, yet I was charged almost half of the annual premium. This feels completely disproportionate and unfair.

To make matters worse, the customer service was appalling. Instead of investigating my concerns or offering a practical solution, I was simply told to log into the online portal and find the messages myself. There was no sense of responsibility, empathy or willingness to help.

The whole experience left me feeling that the company was far more interested in extracting money from customers than treating them fairly. I felt ignored, unsupported and thoroughly let down.

I would not recommend Sterling Insurance Company. Think very carefully before signing up, and make sure you fully understand all the potential charges before committing.

Knowledgeable team for special modifications to vehicles, excellent attitude. Always willing to help and try to price match too.

The people at Sterling are always very friendly, and very helpful. Not only that, but the insurance service has been excellent, at a very reasonable price - with a better deal on the insurance price for my specialised car insurance than for my other car. I thoroughly recommend them for both ease of contacting them, because they call you back if need be, and are genuinely helpful and friendly. By far the best insurance experience I have had.

I sold my home and tried updating my car insurance address to my Holiday Lodge. My insurer refused the change, so I looked elsewhere. ChatGPT indicated Sterling could cover non‑residential addresses from around £337 a year. My previous insurance has never been more than £420.
Sterling then quoted me £3,197 per year — eight times higher.
I have 9 years NCD, no points, no accidents, and drive a V60 R‑Design D4 (not exactly a Ferrari). The car has an OEM Thatcham Cat 1 alarm, tracker, 24/7 remote dashcams, and is parked behind a locked gate in a crime‑free postcode.
I’ve now bought fully‑comp with extras elsewhere for £624, with full disclosure.
I would genuinely like to know why Sterling thought it was acceptable to quote me over £3k. It feels like they tried to take advantage, and I’m extremely disappointed. CS Advisor was very courteous but come on....

Just changed to sterling as they offered cheaper car insurance an i can honestly say everyone that i have spoken to have been amazing so easy to get through to nice to speak to a human special thank you to the girls in customer service every time I have phoned they have been polite an helpful don’t normally do reviews but this is well deserved

Rang up to renew my insurance. Got speaking to Jade, the young lady that I spoke to last year when I renewed my insurance. Jade remembered me, and it was like calling an old friend for a chat…. Needless to say, I renewed with Sterling Insurance, again…

I found the young lady at Sterling very helpful indeed and was grateful for her consideration and patience with a 95 year old who is not familiar with the technologies of today.
