Thank you for the feedback. We have looked into this booking in detail, including the recording of your pre booking call.

The vehicle supplied was the vehicle selected at the point of booking online, which was a van without a tail lift. When you called us before placing that booking, our team discussed the weight of the goods and suggested booking a tail lift vehicle. They also offered to put you through to our operations team to help choose a suitable vehicle, which was declined at the time.

That said, the driver should have spoken to you before leaving site, and we are addressing that with him directly. He did call our office to report that a tail lift was needed for the job.

We have refunded the booking in full and consider the matter closed. We are sorry the job did not go ahead as you expected.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback, and I'm sorry the platform hasn't worked out the way you hoped.

We have drivers completing jobs every single day inside the M25, so the work is there. Looking at your account, you've quoted on 33 jobs and completed one. I won't pretend that's a good return, but it does show the work has been reaching you, and it doesn't match the idea that almost nothing available is real. South London is one of our more competitive areas simply because a lot of couriers cover the same postcodes, so pricing and response speed make a big difference to what you win.

It's also worth checking your working radius and the vehicle and service types you've opted into, as those settings filter out a lot of jobs before they ever reach your app.

On open jobs: these are live enquiries where the client hasn't confirmed yet. We show them so couriers can quote early rather than being locked out until the last minute, and a good proportion do convert once the client books.

The joining fee covers onboarding, ID and insurance verification and account setup, and it's set out clearly before sign up. I appreciate that's no comfort if the work isn't coming through, so please email me directly (I'll send you my address separately) and I'm happy to go through any individual bids you have made and figure where you're losing out.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the feedback, and I'm sorry we let you down. You made the 18:00 cut off clear when booking, and the collection window we confirmed fell outside it. This was caused by a fault in our automated allocation system, which assigned a driver whose ETA was outside your window. We've identified and fixed the underlying issue.

On payment: no money has been taken. We voided the transaction rather than claiming it, so you may see a pending authorisation in your account, but it will fall away within a few days (exact timing depends on your bank). There's nothing to refund and no chargeback is needed.

On your final point: our registered office is our accountant's home address, which is separate from our trading address. It's a standard arrangement so that official Companies House notices reach him directly. That said, we're a nationwide network of around 500 couriers, and like most same day services our drivers are home based and come directly to you rather than via a depot. I often work from home myself.

Hi Bakhtiar,

We’re sorry you feel this way, but we do need to respond as we do not believe this review fairly reflects what happened.

As you explained to us directly by email, you chose to cancel because the way jobs are allocated was stressful for you and did not suit your family or lifestyle. Courier Expert is clearly advertised as a same-day courier platform, where work is allocated job-by-job rather than through fixed shifts or routes.

That said, not all work on the platform is urgent or immediate. We also have future-dated jobs, including next-day and later collections, which can give couriers more flexibility to plan around their availability.

To clarify the timeline, your account was approved and within around 3 hours of activation, you had already been allocated to your first job. After adding interest in that job, it was confirmed to you within around 13 minutes. You then removed yourself from the job, and a few hours later cancelled your membership.

We appreciate that this type of work may not suit everyone, especially when you are used to apps where shifts or jobs are booked instantly. However, we do not believe being active for only a few hours, being allocated to a job in that time, and then choosing to cancel provides a fair basis to describe the platform as a scam or suggest there were no opportunities for work.

We responded to your cancellation and refund request directly and provided a goodwill refund. We also confirmed that you would be able to reactivate your account which you cancelled through the app at no additional cost. We did not receive any follow-up response from you before this review was posted.
