Quick response to bike purchase update by Elaine.

We got a faulty battery, sent it back and after a lot of messing about and having to change the delivery address after sending, over 2 weeks later all my emails are not been responded to and been rang about 10 times to be told by Elaine, Conor would ring me, still no response 🙁

Elaine kept me updated on when my package would be sent out and delivered,I've had parts from them before and will be buying from them again as they are very helpful

I only mark the 3 stars ... as the time it has taken (13 days) for a small package with an LED Screen to be processed and delivered.
I ordered on line, it was in stock, you are based in Scotland which is why I originally used your services to buy electric bikes for my hire business, and it takes nearly 2 weeks to get a small item delivered to Orkney. The contact Elaine was very helpful along the way with communications etc, but it was out of her hands regarding speeding up this process. I was losing £40 a day by not having the bike available. Unacceptable.

Whilst there was a delay in dispatch I was updated and reassured.
The battery is excellent and the value good.

Absolutely delighted with the service and the battery. I received the battery in a couple of days and I was able to ring Cyclotricity and Elaine Macanas was very helpful and relayed to me the information I had requested. All round a terrific experience. Thanks.

I purchased a complete electric bike from this company over a month ago. When I attempted to assemble it, I discovered that the front wheel does not fit into the fork, making the bike completely unusable.

I reported the issue immediately and sent photographic evidence, expecting either a replacement part, technician visit, or refund. Instead, customer service:

Directed me to a warranty for e-bike conversion kits (which I didn’t buy),

Suggested I use a spanner to force the wheel into place,

Eventually offered to reimburse me £30 to take the bike to a shop – despite the bike being brand new and incomplete.

I've had to send multiple follow-ups and was ignored for days at a time. After 30+ days with no working product and no real resolution, I’ve now submitted a chargeback with my bank.

This has been one of the worst online purchase experiences I’ve ever had. Poor quality control, dismissive customer service, and failure to uphold basic consumer rights. If you’re looking for a reliable e-bike and support, I strongly recommend that you buy elsewhere.

Update: It is now August, and the company is still refusing to give me a full refund for the faulty bike, ignoring consumer rights laws, and they are contesting my charge back request. I am having to escalate the issue to a small claims court to get my money back

Great to be able to buy these kits from a UK company. All parts required are provided, and all fitted and running in a few hours. Made a massive difference to my old mountain bike. Very good customer service (but can be a bit slow to respond).

I started to look for a diy ebike solution for my wife forme minster hybrid.

I searched quite a few sites & I found the information on the CycloTricity website very useful, easy to understand & very helpful.

I then looked at their products & bought a DIY front wheel motorised option at £300 which was extremely good value compared to other websites/ providers.

I contacted CycloTricity to keep informed on the progress of my order & they were very helpful! they kept me appraised of the order right through to delivery so I knew it was all in hand & on the way & they even tracked the delivery for me telling me when & that it had arrived.

I fitted the kit to my wife bike very easily! yes it required work, tinkering & adjustment to fit it but it was very straight forward & easy. I did not need any help I just followed the online instructions & watched a couple of their youtube videos for guidance.

the end result is a vey nice electric upgrade that makes my wifes journey to work much easier & safer as a result.

the bike has been working now for over a week takling a rather nice hill every day & it is all working beautifully.

so to sum up I would definately recommend this company & their products to anyone wishing to go down a DIY E-bike conversion. They are definately worth investigating if you want to go down this route to electric bike commuting

had problem with pas system they were very helpful on diagnosis of fault.and told me what bits to replace.promt reply to my emails.under new management very happy with assistance would recommend the company.

Whilst researching eBikes and their manufacturers, I looked at the Cyclotricity offerings currently available online. Having then researched the company itself, I became aware that Cyclotricity had commenced the liquidation process on the 1st May 2025. This was as a result of actions taken by the companies creditors.

Beautiful bike

I bought a 250W front wheel kit with a 19ah battery. I paid my local bike shop £60 to fit it (the 19ah battery is large and heavy so I wanted an extra hole drilling in the frame to make the mounting more secure, they also routed the kit's cables internally so it looked nice and tidy.

I bought the cyclotricity kit on the bike shop's recommendation when I was replacing a 2 yr old Swytch kit. The Swytch kit had been reliable and was a good product but after 2 yrs of daily use the battery was inevitably losing some range. I considered just buying a new, larger capacity Swytch battery but my bike mechanic talked me into getting a Cyclotricity replacement. He uses them a lot and says they are very reliable. I'm glad I got it!! The Swytch kit is good but is much more expensive, has lower range per £ spent and takes a lifetime to arrive (unless you are willing to pay a lot of money for faster delivery) By contrast, the cyclotricity kit arrived within 5 days (my swytch kit took 9 months!)

So far it has covered me over 1,500 miles and has not had a single problem. (Occasionally, after cleaning my bike, the pedal sensor needs pushing back into place if I've knocked it while cleaning)
It gets very heavy use; 15 mile round trip to work and daily rides of approx 15 miles for fun. I ride it in all weathers including very heavy rainfall.
The 19ah battery is highly recommended. If I have it on the lowest setting it gets over 100 miles between charges. On level 2 or 3 (with occasional short goes on level 5 as a treat) the range is approx 60 miles. I am very heavy, so smaller riders will get much more!

I would definitely recommend the kit to anyone considering getting one.

I received my bicycles without problems. I think I got good value for the money that I spent. From ordering to delivery took 7 days, which I think is reasonable for a small company.

I have seen they have mixed reviews, but for me, the customer service was excellent, which means they are working towards a better customer experience.

Great product, arrived in prestine condition, easy to aseemble, all parts given. Communication from Elaine was brilliant, she set my expectations regarding delivery with a realistic timeline.

When I first saw the advert for a hybrid cycle for under £100 I thought there has to be big catch. But no, it states you get no front wheel, yes but when it arrived ever thing else is there . You just need a bare front disc brake wheel . It came very well packed and all things like tools, peddles, front disc, wheel tape .Aluminium frame and rear carrier.

The kit is really easy to fit and is great quality. I had one small issue with the LCD Dashboard, but Elaine diagnosed the problem within an hour or two, it was my fault all along for bending a connector pin. I straightened it out and it all works perfectly. I’m really happy with my converted bike! My commute is now enjoyable and I catch myself smiling as I’m cycling into work.

Conversion was straightforward and when I finally got around to getting the derestrict codes they were very helpful. It's good that I can swap from normal to deristricted and back as I only need derestricted occasionally.
It was appreciated that help was still there even though the support person had been hospitalised.
