Had 2nights at the Buccaneer which only has 3 rooms but they have had recently refurbished the rooms which are excellent, every thing you would need and very spacious, owners were very nice and helpful and I look forward to returning soon,

We had a lovely 3 night break over the new year period, and cannot fault the accommodation at all. However, we would be very guarded against booking through Discovery Holiday Homes again in the future, as they put their prices up by approximately 15% after we had booked, had our booking confirmed, and paid our deposit, blaming the increase on a "technical error".

When we queried the legality (and ethicallity) of this increase we were given the option of cancelling our booking with a full refund of our deposit. It would have been nicer to have been given an apology without having to ask for one, or to have been offered a gesture of goodwill for something which was very much not our error. As it turned out, we kept our booking, paying the extra money, as it had taken so long to find the right property at the right price (!) in the right location, and there were very few suitable alternatives available.

Lovely property and host, responsive communication and clear instructions.

Lovely cottage, everything you could wish for. Very cosy, a perfect home from home. Only downside was the shower which needs to be more powerful. Loved the wood burner.

we had a great time, the house was lovely, and Liz the owner could not of been more helpful, fantastic from start to finish, we rent quite a lot of holiday homes and this is up there with the best, thanks to all.

River View Shaldon has everything you could ever need on a holiday and personal touches are wonderful! Owners are extremely helpful in every way! Would highly recommend to anyone and would revisit if the opportunity arouse!

Very romantic setting for our anniversary.

We really enjoyed staying at Bywater! Finding it at night is a bit of a challenge as there is no prominent sign and the entrance is a hard right turn of the road from Shaldon. The house is cleverly orientated to give great views of the river from nearly every room making it restful and interesting for guests who are not used to seeing wading birds before breakfast or rowing teams afterwards. The property has great facilities including a fully equipped kitchen (we cooked for at least seven every day and up to eleven) and the best showers I have experienced in such accommodation. It comes to something when the only things we could have done with were an extra peeler and a kitchen clock or timer.

Booked through DIscovery Holiday Homes who are the Management Company to stay at Balcony Belle now renamed Balcone Vista ! Initially we could not find the key as the key safe boxes aren't numbered and their are 3 Apartments in this Building. The Common areas to the Property smelt very musty and damp, when we finally got into the Property it had not been cleaned after the previous Holiday Makers, used bed linen left on the bed's, dirty towels all over the Bathroom floor ! the Property Decor looked very tired and in need of some TLC. not at all as portrayed in the write up on The Owners Direct Website. Initially we contacted the Cleaners who were very rude and put the phone down on us, then after contacting the Owners of Discovery Hoilday homes they suggested we go for a meal for three hours whilst it was cleaned which we rejected as the Property was not as advertised and wanted to stay somewhere else, At first they tried to put us into the Hotel adjacent to the Property but they only had Single rooms, they then offered the Ground Floor Apartment but again this had not been cleaned, can't believe that Properties aren't cleaned once vacated, plus this Apartment had no Sea View which we had booked, only Parked cars.Eventually after a lot of pressure from ourselves after arriving at 4pm we were offered the Penthouse Apartment and gained acccess after 10pm, taking into account we had left home at 10am and only here for 1 week, although we enjoyed our stay in The Lighthouse Apartment which is a credit to it's Owner's it did take the edge off our Vacation and to date The Owner of the Property has not even been in touch with us to apologise !

The house was excellent with views of the river and out to sea. Location very central, 2 mins walk to a lovely pub and only a little further to the waterside.

We had the most fantastic trip to Shaldon, the Beach hut was just incredible, I can't praise it enough. The views and beach were beautiful and quite literally on our door step.We went in November and we were toasty warm inside the beach hut, which came equipped with everything you need for your stay there. Neither of us wanted to go home and we've already been looking at availability to visit Shaldon and stay in the beach hut again. Feel like I shouldn't be writing this as everyone will be booking it now!

I had such a relaxing and comfortable break in a room that was absolutely gorgeous and with hosts and staff that could not have been more welcoming,pleasant and helpful if they had tried, i genuinely did not want to go home. As for the food in the buccaneer it was excellent. I have already told friends and family about my break and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, the weather may not have been the best, but it was november :) however this did not detract from the absolute pleasure and relaxation, thank you so much to everyone for making me so welcome

A few steps from the main road with shops and the beach. Lovely place for a break.

Although the apartment was spacious with lovely views, it had a smell of damp and the decor needed updating. It says that it accommodates seven but it could benefit from an extra toilet and shower. Wifi would also be a good addition! That aside, we had a lovely holiday in Hope Cove and the apartment is in a great location, just a few mins walk from beach and pub.

The cottage is very well equiped with wonderful southerly views of the sea and coast from all rooms.
We had very good weather so we really saw it at its best.
The location is a pleasant 15 minutes walk from Kingswear and you will need a torch if its dark. This may not suit everyone but we loved it.

We were lucky enough to stay in the Balcony Belle, Hesketh Crescent Torquay in October 2015.
I have to stay this is one of the finest properties we have ever stayed in. The building is steeped in history and I had long admired Hesketh Crescent as one of the most iconic spots in Torquay.
Balcony Belle is truly special upon opening your door you have a small hallway and a small flight of stairs takes you up to the main apartment. It has a well equipped kitchen with all the mod cons and an easy to use central heating system. The dining area just off the kitchen gives magnificent sea views and along a small walkway you find the master bedroom which again has beautiful views, lovely comfy bed and elegantly furnished with plenty of wardrobe space.
The main living area has amazing views again, a lovely fireplace and access to the balcony where you have a table and chairs to sit out and enjoy the views. A further spacious bedroom with two single beds is near the living room. The whole apartment is beautifully decorated and fabulous artwork to enjoy. Lovely and clean on our arrival even with a pint of milk left in the fridge for us. I couldn't speak highly enough of this accommodation, we absolutely fell in love with it and hope to go back before long. I hope anyone who books here enjoys this amazing and very special accommodation as much as we did. It was amazing to spend a week in a building steeped in history and an amazingly furnished apartment. Well done Discovery Holiday Homes you know how to please! A very happy family thankyou

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Terrazia Giorgia Apartment in Torquay what a truly lovely apartment very well looked after by Nicky a credit to her, she is very friendly and helpful.
Great location but at the highest part of town,but there is a bus service local link bus 60 &. 61 just across the road,so makes getting into Torquay easier. Many places to visit by buses in town so no excuse we traveled has far has Plymouth. Would recommend this apartment you definitely will be very impressed enjoy your stay we have.
Nicky provided lots of lovely toiletries and really thoughtful gifts for her guests so very unexpected Thankyou Nicky,and free wifi.

This is one of the best places we have stayed in UK. Everything is extremely clean and owners have made everything homely.
I have never been anywhere that give you more than a few milks to use with drinks, and more than enough toiletries wise. No need to bring extras.. Hand soap, body lotion, shampoo and shower gel. Bed comfy. Lovely management who will do all they can for you. Took a bottle of bubbly to celebrate my birthday, was given an ice bucket. Opened looking out from a fab view of the bay. They also do lovely food. Not after 6.30pm Sunday's though. (Apparently they do a lovely Sunday roast). Have stayed in both rooms they have. I have no faults and I'm a fussy one. Will be back. From the moment we arrived at the Buccaneer we felt very welcome, the owners were very friendly and accommodating. The room was large and very well equipped. We loved our stay but would have welcomed breakfast rather than having to go elsewhere to locate it. Having said that, ther're lots of places nearby. The views from the balcony were beautiful and the ever changing sea views from this room, were in itself, well worth the stay. Babbacombe is a great location.

We stayed here for 3 days in October with my fiance and 4 other friends.

The house is in great condition and obviously has been well looked after. There are plenty of facilities in the house including hair dryers and WIFI, outside there was a BBQ and fire heater, although due to the weather we didn't get to use either.

All the rooms are of good size and even though there was 6 of us it never felt small
The bedrooms were very clean and tidy although only the master bedroom and twinroom have TV's which was a little disappointing, but to some people that wouldnt bother them, it's just a nice touch.

The beach is located within a 30 seconds walk, there is also a cafe called Red Rock which do a fabulous Breakfast and a flame grilled pub 5 minutes walk from the house. Torquay is a 15 minute drive.

Overall all 6 of us were very impressed with the house and we would highly recommend it and we are planning to stay here again soon.

Lastly the Jacuzzi was amazing and well worth paying the extra £50 for.
