I went to B&Q liffey valley to buy coal

I went to B&Q liffey valley to buy a bag of coal on the 30/03/26. Firstly the coal was not where it usually is so I went looking for an assistant to find out where it was, Holy cow! what a job finding someone to help! Eventually I got a woman in the Garden centre who told me it was back up past the checkouts. Couldn't find it so spent a while getting someone else who also told me it was past the checkouts! I Eventually got a helpful young lad who told me it was in the Garden centre, guess what? Not there! So! I walked all over the shop and Eventually found it myself, I'm a man of seventy years and not as strong as I used to be someone I struggled with the 20kg bags, no one to help me.
Lastly there was only one checkout operating and a lengthy queue, the girl operating made a number of calls on her headset for help and it was a full 9 minutes before help arrived. I am not computer savvy so all the electronics at the checkout had me confused and I had to wait till the girl was free to help me.
After working in customer care myself for many years I find the service I received today absolutely appalling. B&Q seemingly just do not care about their customers.

Great product, don’t buy it from B&Q

Bought the Rothley Antique Brass Steel Antique brass effect Rounded Handrail kit from B&Q website as they advertised delivery to Ireland would be within 3 days. That was a lie!
The product is great, came with everything needed. The customer service is appalling! Rang customer service on the 4th day and they were most unhelpful. They couldn’t tell me when it would be delivered and made no effort to try to resolve it. After much persistence, they put me through to the vendor who was most helpful. They told me delivery would take at least a week and that B&Q should never have advertised it as 3 day. Again, very happy with the rail but I would never buy online from B&Q again!
They also refused to publish this review on their own website.

Not happy at all!

Placed a 750 euro order for composite fencing and a polycarbonate panel with accessories.

Was informed of the separate dates for two sets of deliveries which was fine.

The delivery notifications were accurate and the driver was kind enough to phone me as i had to leave to take my son to hospital.

However, he told me that the main item in the order wasnt in stock so would he a separate delivery.

I received no forewarning of this as the accessories for it are useless without the actual panel, ive received no notification of a new delivery date either. I then see that one of the accessories was packaged in a way that mangled it rendering it useless for the purpose. I also note that the prove for the missing item has been refunded.

So i now have two accessories for a panel that wont ever be delivered so they are effectively useless and will need to be returned in store.

This is a ridiculous way to manage online deliveries not to mention grossly inconvenient for a customer and places quality control in question also as a visibly broken accessory was sent out by the warehouse.

Some items are such that they have to be delivered due to size rather than collected in store.

Had i known this would occur i would have ordered elsewhere.

Don’t touch!

Goods arrived damaged and despite several attempts to contact them no replies were forthcoming. Very disappointed. Don’t touch. Tried to leave a review on their site but they wouldn’t publish it! Absolute farce. Disgusting way to treat somebody who spent a lot of money on their goods.

Didn’t get the complete order

Didn’t get the complete order. Rang customer service didn’t realise it was a call centre based in a different country. Very hard to understand the conversation. Item was to be here on March 12. Still waiting on refund.

Absolutely woeful delivery service

Absolutely woeful delivery service. Placed an order a 9 days ago, still yet to get the items delivered.

The delivery person came to the door, waited 30 secs and before I could come downstairs tried to leave, apparently because i hadn't answered the door fast enough. He claimed he couldn't deliver the items as he had "closed" the delivery option (whatever that meant) in his tracking app.

Still waiting for another delivery attempt despite being promised a maximum wait of 48hrs (4 days ago).

Now the customer services are claiming it will take 2 more days, as there are still missing items to be delivered from the depot to the delivery firm
