Delivery Still not Complete
I ordered a wall hanging cabinet online sometime around mid-December which was being delivered from the UK, I believe, to Ireland. I watched my phone on the delivery date and received many texts informing me that the delivery was on it's way. Eventually I got a message saying that my item had been delivered but no package arrived. I rang customer service who informed me they would talk to the delivery company (XPO). I heard nothing more back for a while over the Christmas and had to contact the company myself. I did eventually talk to them and they re-arranged to deliver the package. Again, nothing arrived. I have now rang back and re-scheduled this three times in total and still no package has arrived. XPO can't give me an answer as to why it's not being delivered. Yesterday I arranged to work from home to align with the proposed delivery, which never materialised. I think 1 star is prob a little generous for this experience

Sold me an item with a “free item” as a deal. When delivering did the free item wasn’t in stock and refunded the €0 back to me. Wouldn’t have bought the original item if I had known, it’s almost the level of a cheap market stall grift.

There was no barcode on the product so I took a photo of the bar code on the shelf edge
When I got to the check out the sales assistant was not accepting my barcode photo. She called for assistance and it was 10 minutes before it was resolved!
All for a €3 item!!

Bought two quiet close toilet…
Bought two quiet close toilet lids/seats - both stopped working a week after installation - I complained to B&Q and their online customer service said I’d be contacted by someone - that was 4 weeks ago - I still haven’t heard and I’ve sent 3 chasers.
Didn't deliver item!
Well this was the oddest online shopping experience ever! First of all the order confirmation did not show the details of what I ordered, only the amount I paid and the date they would be delivered (passed by 6 days now). There has been no further contact from B&Q to say when I might received the items I ordered. I called the helpline today and asked for a full refund as they couldn't say when I would receive the items either. Thankfully the refund has been done (confirmed by email and paypal) so at least I will get my money back but despite the good value you can find at B&Q there's not much point having an online delivery service if you don't actually...you know...deliver! Pay using paypal if you can, that way you can escalate matters to them if B&Q are being difficult!

I bought a black chrome finish light switch for my son’s bedroom and I can use it as the length of the screws provided are nowhere near long enough for it to be screwed into the fixture. The screws only allow an extra couple of mm of length to screw into the fixture which is ridiculous because you are barely in the thread. The switch just falls off the wall. What a waste of money and time

Everything from begining to end of ordering online was a nightmare. Poor customer service, incorrect phone numbers, poor response times. All in all a bad experience.

He was most helpful and knowledgeable about the difference doors on offer and when I did purchase a door he helped me lift in to my car.

Once we had chosen our kitchen and worktop, April was excellent in helping and guiding on picking the right cabinets, doors, drawers etc. making the process a lot more straightforward. She was extremely patient.

Dec 2025 shop experience
Was looking for a specific item I had seen online but couldn't find it on the shelves in Swords although it said availble in store. Asked a shop assistant at the Kitchen area who pointed me towards another assistant. The girl was helpful & told me which aisle to find the item. The item wasn't there so again I checked online. Seen that it said click & collect in 15mins so I ordered from my phone instead of walking around looking for staff again. Collected from the click & collect approx 20 + mins later from the 2nd shop assistant I had met. She was friendly & apologised for the stock being in the back and not displayed out on the shop floor.
Disappointing
The whole buying online, click and collect was perfect. Now the quality of the moving boxes was not great at all, quite fragile for the size they have.

The process was quick and hassle free. I'd never used B&Q click and collect before and I thought it was a good service
