False advertising
Today I went into store #7634 in the Memphis, TN area. I purchased several items. A couple of the items were bundled wash cloths that had a $5 tag on them. When I was checking out at the register they rang up for $6. The gentleman ringing me up stated he was the manager and an override could not be done, even though the packaging clearly stated the price of $5. Shame on you Dollar Tree for having untruthful advertising and not honoring prices on the products.
Price Gouging on last year's merchandise!
I fully understand that retailers are under pressure to remain profitable in the wake of tariffs and a tough economy. However, it looks like Dollar Tree may be engagng in opportunistic price gouging as a result. It's been a while since Dollar Tree rebranded itself as 'Dollar Tree Plus' with prices ranging from $1.25 " and up." However, now there's a new wrinkle in the 'and up' pricing -- marking over existing $1.25 prices printed directly on the item packages and now charging $1.50! Stores raise prices -- I 'get' that. But just putting a black permanent marker line through a printed on price instead of a covering sticker? Perhaps it's fair to say that when there is a diagonal 'hand-marked' line through a price (pre-printed or with a price sticker) the average customer associates that marking with a PRICE REDUCTION -- not a price increase! How stupid can they be? And how stupid do they think their customers are? And some of the items marked $1.25 didn't even have the slash marks, but still rang up at $1.50 at the register. When I pointed out the discrepancy in the price of one of the items to the cashier, mentioning that it was last year's merchandise, so only the 'new' ones should have the higher price, she replied, "but they have the same UPC number." Yes, an excuse for just raising prices throughout the store when most of that merch has been there for a quite a long time. It feels like they are just trying to take advantage of customers.
Cards and price changing
I utilize dollar tree alot for cards - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays - but there is no consistency on the cards being stocked. Went in yesterday and was disappointed to see the card area again in shambles and not stocked.
I've noticed - after I left the store - items marked as $1.25 now have red stickers and they are charging $1.50 for that item. Is this legal?
It's a dollar store not a $1.25, $1.50.....
Still good deals but not pleased with the stores upkeep now and price changing. Honor what the item is marked.....
Dollar tree was always my favourite…
Dollar tree was always my favourite store. I preferred it to Dollarama. Prices were good and the selection adequate. I don’t have a dollar tree in my town, and always thought of it as a treat to visit one. I was very disappointed the last 2 times I visited. Prices are high ( up to $3) yet the quality or selection did not change. I would argue that Dollarama is better quality, selection and prices nowadays. I won’t bee seeking out Dollartree anymore. If you do shop there, know your prices. Some are higher than a grocery store.
Hate you!
I hate them I bought a gift card and scales me of my last 20 dollars and yes its me Blake I hope you all fall down the stairs
Different locations of the same…
Different locations of the same retailer are always different with store upkeep, layout and employees. Way I see it is that all trees grow, therefore, Dollar Tree is holding up to its name. Not everything in the store is going up or has gone up in price. Lots of new merchandise each week! Many people can't accept that the COL (cost of living) is going up, companies are having to pay the up price for same merchandise.
Dollar Tree JUNK!
More often than not, whatever I buy at Dollar Tree is just about worthless. And furthermore, they need to change their name because nothing there costs a dollar. Many items have gone to $1.50, $3, $5, etc. I bought the Vantage Car Wash & Wax for $3 and it is pure junk, mostly water. I could have spent $1 more at Walmart and got the stuff I usually use and it is great. I am going to boycott Dollar Tree and you should too. They sell crap and crap isn't a bargain at any price.
Dollar Tree is not Dollar tree if the price items are greater than one dollar
Dollar Tree is more than a brand—it is a promise. A promise to the frugal shopper, the single parent stretching a budget, the college student making every penny count. The very name Dollar Tree evokes an expectation: one dollar, one item. Not Greater Tree. Not Almost Dollar Tree. Just Dollar Tree.
If a company can no longer uphold the standard embedded in its identity, perhaps it’s time to reconsider its place in the marketplace. A name should carry meaning—not just marketing. Price hikes erode consumer trust and betray the principles upon which loyal customers rely.
If Dollar Tree cannot stand by the dollar, then respectfully, it should step aside. A name should not be a relic of past promises but a reflection of present reality.
I love that Dollar tree stores but…they don’t know what your talking about
I love that Dollar tree stores but what makes me mad ids how they gonna put new item out an do t put enough at each store they bring out the the Ring master out an bring 5 at each store an they sell out and when u call them bout it they do t
RipOff Tree
What pisses me off is when I am asked to buy a toy for a $1/$1.25 for a child of a military/other for Christmas. Dollar Tree probably get a $1+ and the toy costs less than a quarter. Dollar Tree gets bucks and the kid gets junk.
Also 50 cent greeting cards have gone up to $1.25!

Dollar tree is not the good old dollar…
Dollar tree is not the good old dollar tree anymore. The time of $1 products is over. Today I payed for articles 1.50-5.00 for normal dollar tree products (not the specials). It’s not attractive anymore to buy there. 🤷♀️
As an employee
As an employee, if you want to fire me then go ahead. I am an ASM, Merch...with seasonal, price changes etc, this company has bombarded each store...they gave us xtra hrs..great if you have the employees to come in..if not..the SM has to bust butt over their 48-50 hr salary to get it all done. I'm a merch mgr, who has my SM back.I don't get overtime,, thats a no no with this company. I have a SM who is stressing out and had to take mental health days..you think they care? I can't cover her job cause I cant go into o/t. Best SM,our store is extremely well kept, stock and we always strive to get all our freight out every week. We are one of those stores, compliments everyday..yet we arent recognized, we get nothing with the having stores in the same district that have nothing on shelves, no customer service, bad reviews. So you tell me what is fair with this company?
Shame on Dollar Tree
I went in to buy a gift bag and saw it had a red dot over the $1.25. I asked the cashier what was going and she said it was not longer a $1.25 store. I did not buy the $5.00 bag and will no longer go there. Instead, I will go to Dollar General where they have decent prices and actually have sales and incentives for next time you return.
Pricing themselves out of their name
Well. Dollartree needs to re-name itself nothing for a dollar tree. Ever since they were bought out they have been working to change themselves from a true discount store. And the truly cheesy thing that corporate had the workers do is put red stickers over the 1.25 price to jack it up to 1.50 or 1.75. This means they are jacking up inventory that they already paid for themselves expecting the old price point. Gross. They now have priced themselves such that their smaller now cost proportionately more and are not a bargain at all
It's not going to change
It's not going to change, for the simple reason the area it is in comfortable in disarray of the store and people. The manger appears to be rule only at the times I am in the store. She speaks in tong to her workers about the customers who come into the store. I decided to buy an earpiece that translate to my language. Her choice words were always unprofessional. @BRENTWOOD 468 Suffolk Ave, NY
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING !

DOLLAR TREE VISIT
All you have to do is go into a Dollar Store! Total disaster, disgusting items on floor, boxes stacked everywhere that need opening. They don't pay their employees, nor have enough help to clean up the messes..The store in Twin Falls idaho is a total frickin disaster..I go to Jerome, Id store, and what do I find in that store this morning, which was always very organized, a TOTAL disaster! I think you need a new CEO.. take some of his annual salary and hire decent employees, and pay them a decent salary. What a shame to see this disgusting mess. Shame on all of you..
Rude coustmer service rude cashier…
Rude coustmer service rude cashier tried to return something and you have to have the box Walmart doesn't even want you to have the box and I had the receipt
Insulting Cashier Dorothy fails to bag items
Rude Cashier named Dorothy (located in Pleasanton, Rosewood Drive CA) does not bag items and will make insulting comments like "Your bag is dirty." If you cannot bag you can politely tell that to the customer and maybe someone else can. (All other employees in the store do) No need for horrible attitude. Totally lazy woman and too proud. Her customer service is poor. She yells at customers if they ask a simple question like where an item is. She has a proud attitude and does not show any accountability for her wrong actions. Dollar Tree really needs to look into this. It is an unpleasant atmosphere at this location.
