Monastery of St John the Baptist (Online Bookshop) Reviews

Beautifully bound books, delivered to the back of beyond in the Hebrides in two or three days. Well packaged, could not recommend more.

As ever, great service from this Monastery supplier: good communications, book as described, beautifully and carefully wrapped, and on time. Superb.

Everything about the transaction went excellently!

Everything was fantastic! Thank you.

The book is beautifully made. The printing and the quality of the materials is the best I've seen. How it is set out to allow the reader to understand the Divine Liturgy is very helpful.
I don't think I have received as beautifully and lovingly packed book in my life. All in all. Joyful experience. Ver quick delivery. Easy to order

Amazing as always! Thank you!

The books arrived beautifully packaged and quite quickly in Switzerland, accompanied by two small icons by beloved Saints given as a present.
Also, I am very happy to read Archimandrite Zacharias from the Essex Monastery. The books themselves are rich and very well-written (and well-translated into French) and are helpful to me in a spiritual as well as in an intellectual dimension. Thank you very much!

The Holy Monastics sent my book within a day just before the weekend! Great store with great books and fast delivery!

Dear Online Bookshop, essexmonastery.com
I am happy to confirm that the books have arrived safely. They were very well packed, and the delivery was timely and smooth. I appreciate the care with which the order was handled.

Warmly,
Hendri

The books ordered from the Monastery's site are fantastic, deeply spiritual, the service is very fast and the books are very nicely packed.
I received multiple notifications related to different stages of the delivery.
Thank you so much.

The Essex monastery provides an excellent service in the promotion and sale of orthodox texts. My order, St Silouan the Athonite, was handled sensitively and with much care, even down to the icon card placed inside the cover and welcoming feedback. I am delighted with my purchase and with the craftsmanship that has gone into its production. What a joy to hold and to read!

The book is beautiful and I was very impressed with the packaging.
Looking forward to my next purchase.

Authenticity

Every time I order from the Monastery, it arrives perfectly packed with absolute care and attention. I'd go so far as to say each item is shipped with love. The gift wrapping is also exquisite and articulately prepared. Blessings and prayers to you all at the monastery. This was a beautiful gift for my wife, and will be as loved as it was when it left the careful hands of the monastery.

The site is amazing to use, offering different books in different styles. It also came very quickly, quicker than expected. In a week or so (ordering from the Netherlands), the books were well wrapped in the box (I ordered 5), and well wrapped separately on their own. The tracking system was decent, giving updates at crucial moments. And I got beautiful, small bookmarkers/pocket icons of Saint Sophrony and Saint Silhouan. amazing!

will definitely buy books here again.

To have audiobooks with Orthodox teachings that are sound and filled with such good spiritual food is a great blessing!

I love the teachings of the Church Fathers, and Father’s books bring you illuminations of these teachings in a way that is easier to understand without the danger of having anything watered down. I’m so grateful for this.

I have a medical condition which makes reading books difficult. A good thing is that when you read spiritual teaching and Scripture, you take it slow. There are times when I can’t even do that. And listening is the best option.

It has been hard over the years to find the spiritual food I love in audiobook form.

Now that it is being done, I see how much of a blessing it is. These are not mainstream books that are read by the masses, though that would be wonderful. So to have some of them in audiobook form is amazing!

God willing, there will be many more!

Thank you for your gifts of these books.
Father, forgive me. Father bless.

As someone newly encountering Orthodox tradition, I found in Prayer as Infinite Creation exactly what my soul was searching for. Archimandrite Zacharias writes in a way that doesn't overwhelm—each passage is a small, carefully prepared meal meant to be savored and slowly digested. These are not quick answers but spiritual treasures that reward return visits, passages I'll come back to as long as I have breath. For those of us learning to pray differently, to encounter mystery rather than merely understand it, this book is a gift. I have ordered other volumes from Essex Monastery and trust they will deepen this path. Thank you, and God bless your monastery.

Recurrent updates to package location until arrival.
Wrapping of book.

It was a surprise that my books arrived so swiftly from across the pond! I had excellent, even personal service, when somehow the old address popped up and got inserted before I could correct it. I got a reassuring email right away that it had been corrected. thank you.

Amazing service very efficient and product came in excellent condition
