Bunch of cowboys, ordered on Dec 15th as a Christmas present for my sister. Spoke to her on Christmas Day to realise no wine was delivered. Zero communication on email, despite payment taken on day of order. Tried to contact them and get an individual voicemail which says it all. Wine still not delivered on Dec 31st, latest is I have a DHL tracker number that says it is on a depot. I would not touch these guys as I think they are a bunch of cowboys operating out of a bedroom somewhere . Never again !

Scam. Do not order through this website. No tracking provided 9 working days after ordering. No answer to emails or phone calls just goes through to VM. AVOID.

Dogshit customer service. Promised delivery within 7 days. 13 days later, still not delivered and failed to arrive for Christmas. No reply to emails.

Same as other reviews - i have used them before with no problem. Bought and paid for 5 bottles of champagne for xmas presents and DHL delivered 1?
Email/phone/chat so far has delivered no response - had to buy 4 new bottles from Tesco to replace

Disappointing lack of customer service post purchase. Unable to reach sender when DHL were 'delayed' with parcel, and 2 days later parcel eventually arrived and had sent wrong wine. Phonecalls and unanswered emails later. Appreciate it's a busy time, but no way of sorting out next step.

My wine has not turned up and they are not returning my calls or emails.

Very annoyed.

Ordered a case of wine on 1st December. Still waiting for it 18 days later. Emails are ignored. Phonecalls not returned. Tracking information says delayed and item not received. I think this company is a fraud.

I echo David Roe’s sentiments a couple of days ago. Ordered wine as a 60th present for a relative on 29 November, and still waiting for delivery. No communication from my follow up enquires, by email, phone message and online chat box.
No company should operate like this

Ordered my wine on line. Didn't arrive, emailed for help. Phoned a few times and left messages but no response to emails or phone calls. Ended up contacting my bank to try and cancel my payment. No idea if I will get my wine or money back.

The wine arrived today, 7 working days after the order was placed. They have fulfilled their side of the contract.

Their communication is non-existent

Ordered a case of wine for Xmas. I tried to contact about shipping and delivery date, absolutely uncontactable, not by phone, not be live chat, not by email. I have cancelled the order but suspect they may try and ship some time after I needed it.

No reasonable company operates this way

My order made and paid for on Dec 4th # 38656 is now untraceable and this company is not replying to requests for updates. I wish I had checked the poor rating before handing over a large amount of money. And the five star reviews here look fake

I would avoid these thugs. Never used these guys before, and never will again. Ordered 12 bottles of a Burgundy I know to be excellent. The low price should have set alarm bells off, but hey, we all like a bargain .Order took ages to arrive. Promised free gift also not included. First bottle premoxed, as was a 2nd and 3rd. I concluded this must have been a parcel that had dubious provenance and were probably all faulty. After long email exchange they allowed me to return this dodgy batch. They first claimed they had never sold a faulty wine. As 4% of all wines are faulty this was a blatant lie. Courier lost parcel, didn't hear back for months. Reverse charged via credit card company. And thus the threatening emails started. What a disgraceful lot. In the meantime the parcel reappeared, which Fine wines disputed. Credit card company finally found in my favour and the case was closed. These clowns are clearly a bunch of criminals. Incompetent criminals, but criminals nonetheless. Unbelievable they are still trading. Be warned!

Good selection and fast delivery. We will definitely order again

Received an incorrect item. Specifically bought a particular year of wine, and a different one sent with no prior warning. When I emailed customer support about it they just said this was the one sent was better and then didn't reply when I asked whether the correct one that I ordered would be sent out. Useless

Ordered 4 bottles of wine with stated delivery time of 3-5 working days. Chased them when didn’t appear. Phone calls went to answer machine (never returned). Finally arrived after 8 working days with one bottle missing. Phoned again (answer machine - no reply). Emailed for refund - no apology except for email saying refund was on its way. Paid quickly hence 2 stars.

I ordered 12 bottles of Whispering Angel in April 2025. Promoted as heavily discounted. 1 gave 2 away and took 2 to a dinner party. Both were corked.
I also opened one myself and although probably not corked, the quality was very poor. I asked my self was this the genuine article?!
I contacted Fine Wine Direct to ask to return the remaining bottles and get a refund. To cut a long story short after a lot of protracted and delayed responses I returned the remaining bottles. Again the response was delayed and when I eventually got one, it was claimed that 1 of the bottles had broken in transit - very unlikely as they were all wrapped up very carefully. The refund did eventually arrive (less one bottle) but only after protracted chasing. Very poor customer service and a very frustrating experience. I will not buy wine from this company again.

On 20th May I order six bottles of Domaine du Grand Tinel Chateauneuf du Pape 2019 from Fine Wine Direct. I had previously bought this wine from a hotel to be served at my wife's 70th birthday dinner and it was delicious. So I ordered the identical wine from Fine Wine Direct. But I was massively disappointed because, although bearing what I believe was the same label, the taste of the wine delivered was very poor. I checked the grape content on the back of the bottle delivered and the assemblage ( 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah ) was completely different from that of the Domaine du Grand Tinel Chateauneuf du Pape 2019 that I had ordered for my wife's 70th! I sent an email to Fine Wine Direct over a week ago asking for an explanation and I have had no response.

Awful. Avoid this company at all costs. Learn from my misfortune. Excessively delayed delivery, arrived by a different courier to the one paid for and order was incomplete - half the order missing. Appalling. Customer care number is an answerphone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

Took 3.5 weeks to deliver 1 bottle of champagne as a gift, terrible service and poor customer service response when I asked for a refund they refused. Would have been quicker for me to drive it across the country myself.
