Bergen to Oslo
It was a long day and the tour was easy to follow. Locations were within easy distance to walk to, to get to each aspect of travel. Scenery was spectacular! We travelled from Bergen to Oslo in one day. Used the luggage transfer service that made travel easy as did not have to worry about lugging bags. When we got to destination hotel they were ready and waiting.

Each leg of the journey - the Voss train, the bus to Gudvangan, the electric boat to Flam, the Flam train and then the train on to Oslo was special - the Fjord boat ride the highlight.

Highly recommend
Tour was so incredible. Wish we would’ve had more time on the actual cruise part as the travel between bus and train was quite inconvenient and rushed. Do research on weather and stops offered to get the best experience with planning.

Its a great trip!
The train, coach, and ferry were great. They were comfortable.
The hotel in Flam was nice. The breakfast was delicious.
The flambana was amazing. We enjoyed everything.

A fabulous holiday
This was a great holiday - booking was easy and the options logical and easy to navigate. We had to change a few things and the bookings team were incredibly helpful. The holiday itself was wonderful - the train, bus and fjord boat trip were fabulous. We can unreservedly recommend the Norway in a Nutshell with Fjord tours.

Birthday in Norway
On February 15th I experienced, with my wife, the "Norway in a nutshell" winter tour, from Bergen to Bergen.
That day was my birthday and I couldn't have celebrated it in a better way.
All was simply perfect, timetables, connections, landscapes, also the weather!

Dream Fjord Experience Ruined – Poor Handling by Fjord Tours
This was our first trip to Norway, and we flew all the way from Dubai, mainly to experience the country’s stunning fjord landscapes—a lifelong dream for us. After much research and positive expectations about Norwegian travel standards and consumer rights, we booked the highly recommended Norway in a Nutshell tour with Fjord Tours for July 29, 2025.
Sadly, the most important part of the tour—the fjord cruise from Flåm—was abruptly cancelled due to a mechanical failure ("boat is broken" was the only explanation we received at the terminal). With no prior notice or viable alternatives, we were rushed onto a bus with little time to ask questions or consult the Flam visitor center. It felt very impersonal and dismissive.
While Fjord Tours has offered a small partial refund (~20% of the total package), this doesn’t reflect the true value lost. The fjord cruise wasn’t just one leg—it was the heart of the entire experience, and the reason we booked a premium package.
We acknowledge that Fjord Tours is a reputable operator and that technical issues can happen, but we felt deeply hurt and disappointed by the way this was handled. Proper contingency planning and timely communication were lacking.
We are currently considering escalation to the Norwegian Consumer Council, as we believe this situation deserves a more responsible response. If any other travelers experienced the same issue on 29th July (or on other dates), we’d welcome hearing your experience.
Norway is a beautiful country, and we hope our review helps improve how such disruptions are managed in the future—for the benefit of all travelers.
Fjord Tours should take full responsibility, not just offer a minor refund.

Elendig kundeservice. Ingen informasjon ved avvik.
Booket "Norway in a nutshell" lørdag 12.7.25
Ingen informasjon i forbindelse med stengning av Bergensbanen pga avsporing på Myrdal. Ingen tok telefonen på kundeservice selv innenfor arbeidstid og My page fungerte ikke.
Vi møtte opp på Bergen jernbanestasjon hvor vi ved en tilfeldighet fikk vite at toglinjen til Myrdal skulle åpne. Så vi kom avgårde.
Men dessverre stoppet det ikke der.
Båten som skulle frakte oss fra Flåm til Gudvangen fikk maskin(elektro)havari. 2 timer forsinkelse hvor avklaring om erstatningsfartøy ble mottatt på mail fra Fjord Tour lenge etter at besetningen hadde muntlig informert oss om løsningen. Faktisk rett før vi skulle gå ombord.
Men dessverre endte det heller ikke der Strømbrudd mellom Voss og Evanger hvor vi ble sittende i toget i timesvis uten noe info fra hverken Vy eller Fjordtur. Vi ankom til slutt Bergen ca kl 0230 om natten utslitt og lei.
Fjord Tour kan selvsagt ikke klandres for disse uheldige avvikene. Men under slike omstendigheter er tidsriktig og oppdatert informasjon svært viktig på det mentale plan. Man aksepterer det meste når man blir informert. Enkelt og greit!
Både Fjord Tour og Vy bør ta grep og etablere langt bedre informasjons/kundeservice-rutiner for opprettholde sin image som servicemindede firmaer.

Vi sendte ut både e-post og SMS til alle våre reisende så snart vi fikk bekreftet stengningen og endringene i togtrafikken. Dersom du ikke mottok denne meldingen, beklager vi virkelig det – det var aldri vår hensikt at noen skulle stå uten informasjon i en slik situasjon.
Vi forstår også at det var frustrerende å ikke komme i kontakt med kundeservice og at "Min side" ikke fungerte som forventet. Vi tar dette på alvor og ser nå nærmere på hva som gikk galt, slik at vi kan forbedre både våre digitale løsninger og tilgjengeligheten ved uforutsette hendelser.
Det er godt å høre at dere likevel kom dere avgårde, og vi håper reisen til tross for startvanskene ble en fin opplevelse.
