WORST SHIPPING EVER!

My order hasn't, arrived yet, but I was so angry I decided to write this now. Ordered late on monday, order was £250+, you'd expect them to get that shipped quickly. They were closed when I ordered so I didn't expect any dispatching then. Tuesday, nothing, wednesday, nothing. Thursday, dispatched! Finally. 2 days for them to dispatch. Then it's friday, DPD has still not got my order, they've only been told they're getting one. This is a joke and I'm never ordering here again, I don't care if my order is good now, my opinion on this AWFUL company won't change! I've ordered from smaller businesses in the UK with only one actual store and they dispatch in less than a day! 2 days to dispatch is a joke and they have no reasoning.

All pre-orders got cancelled

Placed 3 pre-orders last year and after 5 months of waiting all orders got cancelled. Their strategy was to postpone just one month every month giving you the illusion that they were actually selling the items, but eventually they just said it was totally the suppliers problem and they had no responsbility at all.

There are also occasions when a manufacturer does not fulfil our requirements fully, and we do not have stock for pre-orders. If your order cannot be fulfilled it is our policy to email you to let you know.

Rubbish!
Prices increased to accompany mandatory 24-hour service. Success rate is 100% failure. 5 Parcels, none on time. Customer service response is non existent.

Nothing for a week....

After hearing nothing for a week I chased them for a postal date. Rather than responding to my email they sent a generic dispatch email.
Poor comms. Poor dispatch. Poor resolution of issues.

A terrible shopping experience

I am a lifelong customer, been shopping there for 20 years or more. I bought a £135 book from their London store, and when I got home I opened the cellophane wrapping and it was damaged. I tried to return it but they refused, saying they never sell defective products and that I must have done it myself. The constant insinuations that I must have done it myself was the worst thing about the whole experience, effectively calling me a liar. I know they don't care and it's a drop in the bucket for them, but they have lost a lifelong customer.

No problems with the product but shipping is slow

Both times I have ordered the products have arrived in perfect condition and as described. However, when I receive my order confirmation and it says the product is 'In Stock' and 'Ready to be charged and shipped', I don't understand why it then takes 2-3 days for it to be dispatched. What's more, for 2nd class postage, I don't understand why I'm paying £4.00 for postage. In future, I'll either go into the store or, more likely, will order from somewhere else with a better order policy.

Newcastle Upon Tyne shop did not deal with a medical emergency

My sister who has severe CPTSD and a number of health conditions including Fibromyalgia and autism had a serious panic attack in your shop and it's unfortunate to say she was literally on the floor of the shop for at least an hour before a staff member or anyone offered to help her.
I understand that staff may not be trained on what to do in a situation like this, but help should have been given much sooner than what it was in a situation that serious.
It is very lucky that she held herself together as much as she could as when her health condition is bad enough she can faint and be very sick.

We are big fans and been going to forbidden planet for years and I'm very disappointed about this. We'd go because the world of comic book/manga/cartoons is a very big comfort and help to cope for her CPTSD.

A staff member did eventually give her a bit of help but it went on for far too long beforehand and escalated to such a serious level.
I would never expect staff to necessarily have full medical training or even be equipped to understand, but I'd expect them to at least have the kindness and concern to get help such as offering a quiet space, offering to call someone and even getting help leaving the store etc. - far, far quicker for a clearly seriously distressed customer who had nobody to call for help at that point and was too scared to do anything in such a humiliating and scary situation.

And for purely selfish reasons, it doesn't look good for your business when someone is on the floor for hours in what could have easily been interpreted a life threatening situation, as certain health conditions have similar signs. So a customer very well could have been having a heart attack, asthma attack or a number of many things like that.
I sincerely hope that in the future for the sake of if something like this were to happen, help can be quicker provided to customers in medical need.

Forbidden Planet are amazing

Forbidden Planet are amazing ! I had a book on order but the order was very delayed due to publishers. However Forbidden Planet kept me very well informed with regular updates and unlike a lot of companies, they did not charge me until my order was despatched. They have a vast range of books that I struggle to find elsewhere and at great prices. Great company, excellent service.

It took them 4 days to dispatch a single comic, which is pretty poor in my opinion. However, when it did arrive it was well packaged.

Delivery costs

Unfortunately FP seems to penalise people who order more with ridiculous delivery fees. All other websites provide free delivery or lower delivery fees the more you purchase, but at FP it's the other way around. I'd stopped purchasing from Amazon because they were consistently late with deliveries but being charged 6quid delivery for one book seems a bit egregious.

We're sorry, we have done our utmost to maintain our existing postage and packaging costs for over ten years, even as prices have increased substantially on packaging materials, postage, transport and fuel surcharges from our contracted postal services.

Regrettably we are no longer able to absorb these costs ourselves and this is why we have made the difficult decision to change our current postage model for orders. We are hoping to implement a new system later this year to give customers shipping options, including frequency and consolidation for orders with multiple pre-orders.

Great Packing

I've been a long time customer.
Not ordered anything for a while.
I ordered a Spiderman figure,comics and novel.
Everything was so well packed, they really make an effort.

No communication as to when my order…

No communication as to when my order will arrive till i asked, then found out they were out of stock after waiting ages, order went in March 1st , now 7th April . They also said they would keep me up to date , but nothing ! I have now cancelled my order . This company need to let people know if the item is in stock before they buy , not weeks after they order . Bad communication and slack customer service. Have since bought the same item from Amazon next day delivery .

3rd time ordering and every time waited…

3rd time ordering and every time waited up to a week and a half at least. Ordered three comic grab bags and a pop vinyl 2 weeks ago, took a week to confirm the order (last Thursday) and still waiting on the items, absolute joke.

Books P&P expensive and arrived damaged.

I'm a loyal shopper at Forbidden Planet, visiting their London store whenever I'm in town. However online ordering is perilous.

The packaging is just not good enough. In the last order received, one of the books came with scrapes running all down the spine. Another, that I had paid £14.99, had spine ticks and indents. When collecting comic books, condition is king and this is just not acceptable.

Plus, their prices are good but then they slap on P&P charges, which go up the more you order.

I'm sorry FP. I hope you can resolve these issues, as I want to shop with you more.
