Sloane & Sons Teak Furniture Reviews 

I wanted to leave a top review of both the furniture and customer service at Sloane & Sons! We have the Burford sofa, and the quality is amazing - beautifully made, really comfortable, and we have had lots of compliments on it already. It was exactly what we were looking for (after lots of research!). The team were also super helpful and patient in arranging a new delivery and refund when we accidentally ordered the wrong set of furniture the first time round! Very grateful and would highly recommend.

At every stage of the process, discussing options, ordering, delivery, Callan was instrumental in we as a family being able to provide a suitable and lasting remembrance of a very special lady. Lin. Much loved Wife, mother and grandma. Thank you Callan and all at Sloane & Sons.
Only two things to add, the principal item that we ordered was a four seater bench ( with flat arms for coffee cups ! ) and that a replacement brass plaque was supplied by Sloane's at no cost as one word had been missed from the plaque initially supplied. The bench graces a garden open to the public close to our home and is already in daily use.

Flawless in every respect. Furniture is beautiful, well made and competitively priced. Communication from order to delivery was excellent. Self assembly, not a bother, and is expected for deliveries of this size/nature. Plenty of places will recycle the pallets so this absolutely not a challenge. Thank you Team Sloane & Sons. Wishing all companies would provide such great customer service.

Right from the beginning the communication was excellent. Callan was very responsive. The product arrived on time and looks stunning. Highly recommended.

The quality of the furniture was as expected. The poor quality of the delivery service and the effort needed to dispose of packaging is the reason for the 2 stars. The delivery company ‘Palletforce’ failed to show on the date arranged. When I called the company it said it will be delivered next day, that was an entire day wasted! Sloane and sons appear to fail to take responsibility of the fact that it was their choice of company when I complained. When the item was delivered, a 3 seater garden bench, it was wrapped in cardboard and plastic and mounted on a wooden pallet, upright. This may be viewed as a positive as it ensured the item was not damaged in transit. However, it was left to me to unwrap and dispose the packaging! I was advised by the delivery driver to find someone with a wood burner for the pallet!

I ordered a bench and seat cushion from Sloane and Sons. The bench was flatpack and very difficult to put together because most of the dowels that needed to be hammered into the joints were too big and would not fully go into the holes and split. In addition the cream seat cushion was extremely poor quality and picked up brown stains/dirt from the bench just from touching it so looked filthy within minutes. I contacted customer service about this immediately as stated on their paperwork but they did not respond and I had to chase them 3 times before anyone got back to me (and when they did they did not give any apology or explanation for the delay.) Ed then told me it was normal for the cushion to get this dirty and I just had to wash it straight away even though I had only had it for less than a day. He said there was not a problem with the quality and refused to send me a label for a return (it would be too costly to return myself as clearly it is quite large.) Very disappointed and would not use this company again or trust their customer service where there are problems.

Update - in reply to your response
1. I was aware that the bench needed assembly and this was not an issue. The problem was caused by the dowels being too large to fit which made the assembly tricky and the finished product looking poor. Other customers have also raised this in their reviews
2. If Callan was on leave someone needed to be checking his emails. Your paperwork was really clear that customers must contact his email address within 24 hours of delivery with any concerns about faults/quality and I did this but did not get a response for nearly a week and then only after having to chase for one.
3. If the bench needed cleaning before use this needed to be clearly stated. The amount of staining that came off it would not just affect the seat cushion but also anyone sitting on it wearing light coloured clothing which would have ended up with brown stains all over it. Fortunately I had not sat on it yet and have now cleaned it but am cautious to use it in case it still stains clothes.
4. The seat cushion came without any cleaning instructions and there are also none on your website. If it is going to need to be cleaned due to even minimal contact with the bench this needs to be stated and cleaning instructions given. Although the cushion has a zip it is only a partial zip and I am concerned that if I try and remove the cover to wash it in the machine I will struggle to fit the foam back inside. I am now having to spend hours trying to hand clean it.
5. Customers need to be aware of these issues in advance before purchasing with you. Ironically your website states that the seat cushion will look as good as new even 5 years from now when mine looks a mess after 5 minutes. Your website also states that you provide customer service that is second to none and mine has certainly been but for all the wrong reasons!

I am absolutely delighted with my new garden table. A bit of self assembly was needed but I am rubbish at anything DIY and this was super easy, and actually quite satisfying!! Very high standard of service, excellent quality product, great value for money, and speedy delivery with good comms all the way. Literally couldn’t be any happier. Very very highly recommended company.

Horrible experience. No communication (other than from machines) so no idea when delivery was to be. Tracking didn't work and the seriously wonderful "palletfarce" tell you your order will arrive between 8:30 and 18:30. Brilliant - only 10 hours to wait in. Typically the 2 benches arrived when no one was there. An extremely surly palletfaeces driver refused to wait for someone to arrived and dumped them in the lane. It was shortly after this that I discovered they were flatpacked. Something the vendors had forgotten to mention. Had I known I would never have purchased. That's just dishonest. Avoid these numpties. I wish I had

We received excellent service when ordering 5 x 5ft teak benches. Ed and his colleagues went out of their way to make sure they were delivered in time for an event. The benches were easy to construct, are solid and wonderful quality - they look lovely in front of our corporate building.

Everyone at my tennis club is delighted with the tables and benches that we purchased from Sloane & Sons. The furniture is excellent quality, and the service to get them delivered and installed was amazing.

We absolutely LOVE our new Sherborne corner sofa (with Cotswold Stone-coloured cushions) and can’t wait for the summer to put it out in the garden. It’s a quality product that’s even better than in the website photos. We would prefer the coffee table a little lower, but this is easily rectified. The friendly, quick and responsive Customer Service from Sloane & Sons was excellent.

I recently received a garden bench, and I couldn’t be happier with the product and service. The bench is of excellent build quality and sturdy design and it fits perfectly in my garden. It arrived on time and was well-packaged, ensuring it was in pristine condition.

The Volunteers at Stow Maries WW1 Aerodrome & the Family of a Senior Tour Guide - Les, wanted a suitable Memorial Bench to remember Les by. We decided on the Sandhurst Garden Bench (due to the Union Jack being part of the design) . I placed the order & contacted Callan (on several occasions) - who was extremely helpful with suggestions & advice. The order was delivered yesterday in good time (& perfect condition) for the day when his Family & Colleagues will Remember Les.

Great communication from the start. Feels like a family company. Ordered the Henley 1.8m teak bench for a memorial, having struggled to find ready assembled ones. Arrived on agreed day. Well made and feels very sturdy. Personalised brass plaque is lovely. Highly recommend.
