Buying their product in a airport is a gamble. Its not fresh and lack flavor. Customer service over the phone is terrible. I requested a refund and they sent me a gift card that can only be used at certain locations instead of refunding my money (I explain there in no location in my area/state).

Garrett made this right. They reached out to me about the problem and shipped a tin of Smoky BBQ to me at no charge. This is how a business keeps customers loyal. Thanks Garrett!

9/17/2025: I placed an order online for a tin of smoky bbq cheesecorn and cheesecorn. Last week I received my order and when I opened the box I discovered that I received the wrong order. Instead of a tin of smoky bbq cheesecorn/cheesecorn I received half pumpkin spice (BARF!) and half cheese corn instead. I reached out the same day and asked someone to help resolve this problem by issuing a partial refund, sending me my correct order, or some other remedy. I sent a message through the Garrett website and even included a photo of the open tin showing the wrong contents. And no one has responded.

Don't get me wrong, the popcorn is delicious when you ACTUALLY GET WHAT YOU ORDERED. For close to $70 bucks you would hope to get what you paid for. Look at the other reviews on the web and you'll see that this is not an isolated incident. This may have been my last order from Garrett's.

“Real Cheese” Popcorn Shouldn’t Come With Synthetic Dyes and Chopstick Warnings

I’ve been a loyal Garrett customer for years, but after ordering the Smoked BBQ CheeseCorn, I’m done.

This isn’t just about orange fingers—it’s about false marketing and a lack of transparency. Garrett advertises “real cheese,” but what they don’t tell you on the website is that it’s loaded with Yellow #5 and #6, synthetic dyes that stained my hands so badly I had to scrub them with a brush. The ingredients aren’t even listed online. You have to contact customer service to find out what’s actually in it.

And their solution? They suggested I eat it with chopsticks—yes, seriously—to avoid the staining. When I requested a refund, they wanted photos of my stained fingers and uneaten popcorn as “evidence,” as if I hadn’t already made the mistake of trusting what they sold me.

For a product this expensive, that’s completely unacceptable. If you're expecting real ingredients, honesty, or even basic accountability, this isn’t it.

I love their caramel ones, but what a mistake ordering the cheddar ones was. Gotta appreciate their long history.

Popcorn is no different than Mix Match popcorn sold at Jewels. But when you factor in the cost comparison and toll free customer service Garretts offers, Garretts is a MOTHER-🤬 RIP-OFF!!
