We ordered a Balustrade and were very pleased with the quality. Unlike a competitor that we dealt with recently, our order also arrived on time!

The gates were accurately made and nicely painted in our chosen RAL colour. I had a small problem with one of the gates which was rapidly sorted by their Customer Service Manager to my complete satisfaction. My experience of their manufacturing and customer service is excellent.

bought a gate 18 months ago, the way the website was set up previously was you didnt get any warnings about the images showing a very small nib at the top of the gate and there was no mention of a 6ft gate actually being a 5'6'' gate with a long nib at the top ie you cant see over a 6ft gate hung maybe 2" off the ground easily but you can see over a 5'6" gate easily. I didn't accept the 2 gates explaining to the driver that when you buy the gates you go straight to purchase and sale without any warning of the need to assume the tiny nibs on layouts are actually very long ie saving the cost in wood. The driver went behindthe truck, phoed the company and within minutes they had changed the website to try to get out of the problem and not refund me. Fortunately I screen saved all the other gates with this problem. Their attitude when I called a was cheap, abusive and aggressive. I offered a compromise to no avail. It was like dealing with a really down market company. I note today they have changed their website slightly, I'm now going to legal redress. The real culture of the company comes out when they are under pressure. They still have my gates.

I’ve known Jay for over 5 years and he has made me several gates which look absolutely stunning , but on top of that his after sales service is second to none. He has recently popped over to fix some bolts on my security gates and I am just so thankful for his ability to provide such a good service . I would have no doubt in recommending him to anyone who is looking for quality gates with quality workmanship. Thank you Jay

So v pleased with my gate from Gate and Fences UK, notably the exemplary customer services. They are friendly, patient and as I am a novice they made sure the measurements were correct. Now installed it is good quality and they delivered to suit my needs. I regret putting this off, it looks beautiful and I hope others will close the gate behind them.

When my gates arrived I loved them ! But over the last few months one gate has twisted very badly! They told me it’s the way it was hung ! Absolutely not it’s manufacture fault,
Very helpful to start with but have now gone quiet on me ! I’m sick of emailing them and not getting a response!
Going on far to long now ‘ I want my gate replaced asap

Gate is great quality but the company fell short on the rest of the service I needed. It supplied only two hinges for a very heavy side gate that requires three. I had to buy the third hinge separately elsewhere after contacting G&F about the issue.
They also have installation instructions on their website that don't match with the sizes of the hardwood posts that the company provides which led to a creative solution needing to be found to make the gate fit. I expected better from a specialist gate supplier.

I ordered a 3 metre wide Juliet Balcony in white for my mother and she is very pleased with it.
Oddly, her bedroom has a double patio door leading to a 4 foot drop. But she can now keep the doors open during this lovely warm weather without fear of falling out!

Took full payment upfront and took 2 months to deliver, because of the Iran war! When delivered they just turned up with no notice early in the morning.

The icing on the cake today is that the fitters I have hired can’t fit the gates as the bolts and nuts for the hinges have been powder coated in paint on the threads and as a result, the nuts now don’t fits the bolts! Who paints the threads of bolts going into a wall . For a company that takes cash upfront the service is terrible.

It takes 2 months to be delivered but they cannot guarantee anything regarding the delivery date.
The customer service doesn’t help anything.
They just say “no idea” and “cannot guarantee anything”.
Also the website says “express service is available” but it is not. They put that to make it looks better.

Very poor, used this company to cap off our lovely home I built, but the gates where exceptionally poor quality, made of red wood pine, they where spray finished to a colour to match the house, but I’m now faced with having to buy a better quality gate from a local supplier as I can’t live with looking at them. On arrival all the paint work had bubbled on the fixings, and paint had split in these areas. After numerous calls and complaints, I was offered to be refunded the cost of the paint, and sent new paint for me to pay a professional to undertake…

Since the gates now been painted 3 times, and completely sanded back.. to have the same issue, the gates badly warped through the Pannels, highly visible.. and this is due to the manufacture. Have gone back to them three times , but apparently they don’t want to take responsibility for it..

I would like to share my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service I received from Gates & Fences UK.

Gary and Mike were absolutely excellent and truly went the extra mile for me. Due to a mistake on my part, I caused confusion during the first delivery and unintentionally made them return a second time with the heavy metal gate. In the end, I realised that the product I had originally ordered was correct, and the misunderstanding was entirely my fault.

Both delivery staff were incredibly understanding of my personal circumstances at the time. I was dealing with a recent bereavement — the sudden passing of a work colleague — which had a significant impact on my mental health during the first delivery attempt. Despite this, the company rearranged a second delivery without any extra charges, and Gary and Mike came back with a positive attitude, moving the heavy gate from the truck to my alleyway without a single complaint.

To my surprise, they even gave me a bar of chocolate at the end — a small but deeply meaningful gesture that showed genuine care and compassion for a customer going through a difficult moment.

I also want to highlight the excellent craftsmanship by Jamie. The gate he produced went beyond my expectations. The quality, attention to detail, and finishing are truly outstanding.

I fully recommend Gates & Fences UK — from the initial sketching and design, to communication, to delivery. They treat every customer as an individual, and their level of care and professionalism is exceptional.

I ordered this single bespoke gate on 23rd March . It said it can take 10-14 days
After calling 14 days later , I was told it says it can take up to 20th April . I said ok!

It's now nearly 2months and still no gate . I don't know how they operate as a business or whether they get any returning customers.

I have an angry client now and it's understandable that they are annoyed

Unfortunately I may need to start a chargeback case through my bank

I have received my pair of Darlington railings, which I’m using as a balustrade on an elevated decking area.
The railings look fantastic, including the three fixing posts.
They were delivered very professionally.
From start to finish, everything went well and I would highly recommend this company.

Having previously used this company for my gates.
I would not be using these again. After a long battle to try to get my gates replaced as two gates were in twist on delivery. Now three are in twist and they look awful.

Company Phoned and arranged the delivery for the next day. 40 minutes before they arrived, they advised arrival time. Perfect. Thanks to Reece & Barry (and Stephen for handcrafting the iron works). Now successfully installed and they look amazing.

Just got my planters delivered, they look top quality not seen anything of this standard before. Customer service was excellent dealt with my questions & got back to me in good time. Have to mention Barry & Reece who phoned with the tine of arrival & put the planters in my garage quickly & carefully.

Gate ordered for my Father who was pleased by the process of ordering and speaking to the company for more information. Kept updated on day of delivery and courtesy call made 30 mins before, I received delivery and the lads who delivered it (Barry and Reece) were friendly, efficient and helpful.
