Absolutely awful customer service
Absolutely awful customer service, Had to chase numerous times to find out where my order was. When they eventually did advise my gates were ready they said I had to wait until they had enough weight on the vehicle before they would deliver, when I asked when will that be the customer advisor said she didn’t know, she didn’t have a crystal ball. There were numerous other issues but I can’t be bothered to write everything.

I am sorry about your experience with the Cannock Gates support team. Your metal driveway gates are probably one of the biggest and heaviest gates we make, so there are literally one or two couriers that are willing to take them, thus we are in their hands. Unlike the smaller gates where a courier comes in every day to collect, this specialist courier will only come in to collect when they have sufficient weight/quantity going to the area that makes it worth their while. We do our best to push them to give us collection/delivery dates. Our sales team should have told you that the delivery date cannot be detirmined until the gates are fully manufactured and ready to ship and even then we now have to wait for the courier to accept the collection request. We are constantly trying to improve our systems and will continue to do this while still trying to keep the costs as low as possible.
Poor quality painted finish
I bought the Parquetry Timber Side Gate from this company just over a year ago. I paid extra to have the gate painted in a white finish. I think it was around £70 extra although the website now quotes £96 for this finish.
The gate was delivered in a timely fashion and the gate seems to be well made. Unfortunately, their paint finishing process is clearly not appropriate for this type of wood. Within a month knots were showing through and the gate looked dreadful. Cannock duly replaced the gate.
Unfortunately, within a couple of months, knots were showing through the replacement and the paint is also bubbling in a couple of places. I should have contacted them earlier but life got in the way. I emailed a week or so ago but apparently, the warranty seems to apply from the date of the first gate not the replacement.
They said “We do recommend after 12months that the gate is lightly sanded and retreated”. This gate will need to be stripped, all knots treated, primed, undercoated and top coated. That is a lot of work
Whilst the door is sound, avoid this company if you want a painted finish

A company that gets the job done, and well.
Great job, neat. Efficient and friendly team, good workers and good advice too. Real pros. They replaced a gate, posts and trellis, and suggested putting the hinges on the other side than it had been before (for the door to open to the right rather than the left). It made total sense. Nice that they thought about it and cared. Many would not have bothered. If there were ten stars they would get them all. Will use the company again.
